  • "Our party of 6 enjoyed lunch here for a birthday. The food and service was amazing. Lots if great choices! The ambiance is very nice as we'll. I'll be back for dinner!"

  • "Or maybe it's not new seeing I am out of the loop about what's happening in St. Louis Park these days. Very good food which was a tad on the pricey side for me (which is the only reason I went four instead of five stars). Everything else was fantastic. The service was especially great. Our server was attentive without being obtrusive and answered all of our questions. The menu is very interesting and diverse and the food was simply great. I highly recommend Mill Valley Kitchen!"

  • "Always a great experience . I have brought many different friends there for lunch and they, I turn, have brought others there. Love the healthy menu."

  • "We were meeting up with long time friends in town from Detroit. We were looking for a place where we could have an extended conversation over a quality lunch. A friend recommended Mill Valley Kitchen. We couldn't have been more pleased. What a gem of a restaurant. Delicious food, beautiful ambience, and friendly staff! We'll be back!"

  • "Mill Valley is by far one of my favorite places in the city. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu! Great GF options too."

  • "food was mostly great. server forgot my salad completely and forgot to tell kitchen how I wanted my meat cooked. parking lot was so packed that valet had no place to leave cars, so we parked across excelsior boulevard. still, will be back"

  • "My boyfriend and I went to Mill Valley Kitchen for our date night. I had been there a couple of times before and every time we drive by, I mention it to him. He said the food lived up to my hype. He had the soup, bison burger, coconut sweet potato, and strawberry rhubarb dessert. I had the sirloin and maple panna cotta dessert. All the food was very good. I was slightly disappointed by the coconut sweet potato, only because it reminded me more of squash (we had thought it was going to be cut up potatoes instead). The waitress was very nice, though appeared to have too much on her plate as we had to stop her a few times to order our next items."

  • "This is one of those spots I wish we had near our home. Good food. Nice ambiance. Good service. It's a nice place to celebrate anniversaries (which is what we did.) The noise level isn't crazy like some restaurants, yet there is alot of energy in the place, so it's a fun night. My wife and I especially like the pork chops. They're juicy and flavorful. We've had good luck with those the last couple of times we've come. They change the menu around now and then which is nice. All in all a pleasant place to dine."

  • "Now one of our regular favorites! Excellent healthy food with appropriate portion sizes. Relaxed but sophisticated decor and atmosphere that seems to accommodate wearing jeans or cocktail attire. Valet parking. Pricey but delivered on great quality and value. Only complaint was inside the restaurant it was humid and somewhat warm on a rainy 80 degree night."

  • "Great atmosphere, cute patio (although small), and great selection of healthier food options. The flatbread appetizer is a must to start with and I also have to get an Rx specialty drink- orange, coconut and kombucha. It's always on our list to hit when in MSP!"

  • "Very good menu, great server, good food, great desserts, very elegant ambiance, but a bit noisy for us older gals."

  • "Mill Valley Kitchen's menu includes fresh locally sourced great tasting food. They also indicate vegan and gluten-free items as well as list the calories, fat grams, carbs, protein and fiber content to make healthy choices. The menu features Northern California cuisine and wines. Presentations and portions are just right. The decor is very modern white and black themed. The wait staff is a bit overwhelmed with Sunday brunch groups, so allow for a leisurely if not slow meal. Other times and days are much faster."

  • "This was my second time at Mill Valley. This time we ate on the patio. The ambiance the is not good - the traffic noise from the nearby street makes conversation difficult. Be prepared to pay for valet parking, as there is only a teeny weepy lot and all other parking in the surrounding neighborhood is permit parking. The first time I went to Mill Valley Kitchen our server was excellent. This time it was like the guy couldn't care less about giving us good service. We weren't ready to order the first time he asked, so we didn't see him again for a half hour. He never stopped back to ask if we needed another drink or water refill. Not so sure I'll go back or speak highly of it in the future."

  • "I love the very healthy menu with specifics about calories, fat content, vegan or non-vegan, etc and organic products. A Creative, healthy, and seasonal menu. I have had the ahi tuna salad twice now and loved it both times. I love to introduce my friends to this gorgeous restaurant. The surroundings are comfortable and well-designed. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but they offer valet parking."

  • "Our party of five really enjoyed our brunch meal. The food was well prepared, and we enjoyed the organic choices for brunch of delicious omelets, salads and grass fed beef. The service was excellent, and the prices were not out of line for the excellent food on the menu! I highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We enjoyed our lunch at Mill Valley so much. Love the upscale atmosphere and our server was just the BEST! We like that the food is prepared with locally grown ingredients. Always a plus. The cobb salad is a favorite. Not so much the flatbreads but still OK. Had a cup of wonderful coffee and a strawberry rhubarb crisp for dessert. Very very good!"

  • "A frequent lunch favorite, my friends and I know we can rely on great food, a friendly atmosphere and terrific service. I had the steak on kale salad and only wish I could have had three plates of it. It was completely satisfying. My friends were equally happy with their salmon salads. We loved the desserts: rhubarb and strawberry crunch, key lime pie and the warm and wonderful chocolate chip cookies."

  • "My only regret about Mill Valley Kitchen is that I drove past too many times before stopping in. The food, service and ambiance were great. Our server was very knowledgeable about everything on the menu, and wasn't afraid to make recommendations. I couldn't have asked for better!!! We have a new favorite."

  • "This was my first visit to Mill Valley. I'd heard some time back that it was difficult to get a table due to popularity. I booked through Open Table and got a very nice booth for a celebratory dinner with a friend. The hostess was new and we didn't get a very warm welcome--she looked confused and distracted. In spite of this, our service from that point on was fantastic. I ordered the fig martini cocktail; it was spectacular. The scallops were PERFECTION. I'm seldom impressed with food quality and sophistication, but definitely was at MVK. I'll return soon."

  • "I'd eaten at Mill Valley several times before and liked it very much. I recommended it to another couple when places they'd suggested were closed on Monday. At the end of the meal, one of them said that he'd expected it to be good, but he was really surprised at very good it was! Everything was great and we'll certainly go again."

  • "This was the 3rd or 4th time I've been here over the course of couple years. It's very good if you have guests with dietary issues. But all the dishes are just a little too over the top with strange presentations and under performing when it comes to taste and portions. It reminds me of a magazine I used to get called "Cooking Light". All kinds of recipes of foods that you normally would like that ended up tasting awful. I like eat healthy, and I like the concept of this restaurant. But I also want some other choices on this menu that aren't so "light". I started with a salad with buttermilk dressing that tasted like...buttermilk...nothing else, and maybe a whole teaspoon on the whole salad. Well done but tiresome..."

  • "Mill Valley has food that is good for you and tastes great. Portion sizes are perfectly sized, enough but not too much. I enjoyed their raw porridge and a bowl of fresh berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries). The porridge was very tasty and garnished with nuts that added a nice chewy crunch. Sat outside on their lovely patio. Service was attentive but not intrusive. We were encouraged to sit as long as we like, which was great as I was meeting with a friend that we had a lot to catch up on."

  • "great quality burgers and flatbreads for the happy hour special! I love that the burgers come with a side salad instead of fries."

  • "The space is lovely. The help could use more training (the young waiter repeatedly called my 85 year old mother "baby" or "darling"- v. condescending). This place tries too hard to be hip. If you've got it you've got it....they are not quit there."
