I thought the food missed being worth the high price. My Littleneck Clam appetizer, for example, was too spicy, too many mushrooms, and I couldn't taste the clams...but I could chew them for quite a while because they were rubbery. There was no warning about cilantro in the cucumber portion of my sea bass entree. I am one of the large number of people for whom cilantro tastes like soap so I avoid it whenever I dine out. The menu didn't mention the cilantro, so my first bite pretty much ruined the meal. The espresso was kind of bad, actually. Must have been that cheap, Lavazzo coffee. The sea bass was cooked well, though. My wife liked her meal better than I liked mine.

A beautiful room with beautiful food. Loved flatbread, salads and desserts. Appreciated nutrition information with each item. Next time will take server's recommendation and try the fish, though will be tempted again to put together a meal with side dishes, which are plentiful and inventive. The duck might have been more succulent, the service more sophisticated, but overall we had a lovely night at this tucked away gem. Parking can be tricky; be prepared to find a street spot on Excelsior, across street from restaurant and west of France.

I travel a lot and have lived in N. CA and Mill Valley! I can say without reservation that this is a fabulous, extraordinary restaurant. The food was exquisite and the service fabulous. The attention to detail and customer satisfaction was so refreshing.....they walked the talk! My only sorrow is that I no longer live in Minneapolis so will have to plan my next visit to enjoy such a great meal again!

I love the atmosphere at Mill Valley Kitchen. It is so inviting and bright. The waiters and waitresses are always very friendly. I love that the menu has all types of food choices- gluten free- vegan- etc. The food is always fresh and delicious. We had a wonderful lunch experience. The cobb salad was excellent. The chocolate mini dessert was fantastic.

We dined on a Saturday night at Mill Valley Kitchen. The restaurant was fairly busy and also pretty noisy. This is the second time we dined here, I remember the first time being much more impressed. The service was excellent. The food is okay but not great. The portions are particularly small. Especially for the filet and the sea bass. The choices of food are unique and if you are looking for all natural, then this will be your place. The wine list is good, and they also had several lovely cocktails. I think the price point is a bit high for what you really get.

Mill Valley Kitchen has been on my "to do" list for several months; I was not disappointed. Interesting and unique menu, attractive decor, range in age of diners. I appreciated the numbers showing calories, fat grams, carbohydrates and protein of each entree. Many options yet to enjoy so I will return.

The food is well prepared with healthy ingredients, like grass fed beef. Go really healthy with green smoothies, etc. They could use a little more variety, but when you source your food as well as they do it's probably difficult to have too many items.

Usually the service is wonderful but this visit was different. Our waitress did't appear for uncomfortable amount of time and once ordered the smoothie was quickly delivered by the bar person but another wait for a cup of coffee. We never heard the specials as they were shared with a nearby table. The house cured salmon open face sandwich was generous in its serving but sweeter flavor than expected for a lox entree. The other meal, a breakfast burrito, arrived cold and not appealing. We sensed that no one was monitoring the room and there was some apparent confusion among servers as to their assignments. We like the restaurant and the food and will go again and hope they've worked out the kinks.

Food at Mill Valley has only one problem: how to choose from among all the tasty choices. Our many plates were striped clean of any remaining morsel. Our waitperson was exceptionally delightful and helpful and the manager, familiar with my lunching friend, very welcoming. I always know I will have a fine meal in a great space when I book to go to Mill Valley.

3rd time at MVK. This time around it failed misserably. Went outside the standads and they sucked. Grilled romaine was decent, but lacked oomph. Arctic char was very disappointing. Wife ordered Kale, which was very good (as always) and the Tuna was horrible (well seared, but flavorless and terrible quality, with significant connective tissue that made it hard to eat without rispping it appart). Again, accompanying vegetables lacked flavor. Only good thing of night was milk and cookies..but I could have that at home.
