Mill Pond HouseMother's DayBrought my mother here for dinner last Mother's Day. We were taken right away for our 4:00 reservation. No waiting. The last place I went to on Mother's Day we waited almost an hour and a half to be seated with a reservation. The food was first class and worth the price. We sat on the veranda overlooking the lake which was beautiful. The owner's wife went around and assisted which was helpful. The only gripe I have is that our waiter forgot to bring me my soda with my dinner. He also didn't come back to ask if everything was all right. For Mother's Day the noise level was okay. Each time we have been rewarded with an excellent meal, top notch service and a thoroughly enjoyable dining experience. The ambience is lovely, with a view of Centerport Harbor and an enclosed porch which means the weather is not an issue. Lately , however, food quality a bit down. Veal chop tough, ordered sauce on side, came smothered in sauce. Replaced quickly enough, but cooked medium, tough, no spices or flavor and sides of veg and potato cold. Other diners had clams and mussels. Clams outstanding, mussels reported bland. Suggest they leave veal chop off menu until they get a quality chop cooked at room temp. Also, never send out a plate unless hot.
Service always great, professional, especially on this night. Our waiter made the evening. Sushi always a pleasant surprise,

We had a hard time choosing but the one dish that stood out was the osso bucco. The risotto melted in our mouths and the meat fell right off the bone. The service as always was perfect. I requested a seat on the patio but I know it was busy. Went there this time with 2 friends for a Thursday night dinner and as usual, the food was simply outstanding. When deciding on a bottle of wine, the host came over and offered to help and after hearing what we liked, he made a wonderful selection. I had the duck, my daughter had the monk fish and my husband had the tuna, and we all had wonderful meals. We started off with drinks and the cheese platter, which had a terrific selection of cheeses, plenty for the 3 of us to share. The service was attentive without being over bearing.
