Mile High Steak & SeafoodReliable as alwaysDon't know what else to say. As always, food and service were great. Properly greeted and promptly seated for our reservation. It's always an enjoyable experience.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMNever Disappoints!Brought 2 friends to the Mile High for the first time and needless to say they will be back and were amazed!
From the moment we arrived we were greeted warmly & served excellent martinis by Mike at the bar. Their first reaction was this was like being invited to a private club. Next steaks in the main dining room with service by Cecilia. Steaks cooked perfectly in a non rushed atmosphere certainly sets Mile High apart from any of your typical "drive through type" steakhouses. MH doesn't nickel & dime you for a baked potato or vegetable, their included! Discovering a NewYork quality steakhouse in the burbs is unusual but by the line of people waiting to be seated and the full parking lot, it looks like others have also made the discovery.6/15/2013 12:00:00 AMConsistently has excellentConsistently has excellent flavors and combinations of food from some homestyle types to favorite americana and american/european fusion; good to great presentation. Menu specials and selections are creative with good blend of indulgent tastes and textures. Good martini's and mixed drinks. Service very friendly and accomodating with good timing of attention to customers.6/11/2013 12:00:00 AMNice anniversary dinnerWe dined here on Sunday night and were greeted by MaryEllen with a warm "Happy Anniversary!" - I had forgotten I had written that in the comments on my opentable reservation. I purposely asked for her based on recent reviews and she didn't disappoint! We enjoyed a yummy watermelon martini, calamari, the chef's filet selection of a 6 oz. filet (although charred on the outside, the inside was perfectly med rare), tempura battered lobster, creamed spinach and the dessert we love to get here - the flourless chocolate torte - we pretty much rolled out of here once again! They even gave us complimentary champagne with our dessert!6/9/2013 12:00:00 AMMile High - Discovered! When one discovers something wonderful like Mile High, you wonder how you've put up with the mediocre food at local chains for so many years. It really doesn't pay to go anywhere else! Our NY dry-aged strip steak was done to perfection w/piping hot baked potato & asparagus. The topper was a scrumptious Apple Fritter w/Vanilla Ice Cream dessert....amazing!6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMWe have been there severalWe have been there several times now and have never been disappointed
It is now our place to go for a really good steak dinner6/6/2013 12:00:00 AMSuper SundayDespite it being Sunday, the restaurant was buzzing with activity....we had amazing tender Filet Mignon with a bearnaise sauce that was to die for. Veggie switching isn't a problem here and the stir fried baby spinach was tender and delicious. Making room for dessert isn't difficult here - house made Cinnamon Ice Cream was so refreshing and delicious!6/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBest filet mignon in town!Mile High has the most incredible filet mignon you will ever enjoy. We went Friday so we could enjoy the surf and turf special too so I got a crab cake (another one of my favorites). All of it was incredible!5/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFirst class timeWe were celebrating a retirement and wanted a special place. Mile High fit the bill perfectly. It was terrific.5/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food and service. This place provides some of the best service in dining. We have visited twice and the service is great! The food was most enjoyable, as well. I will plan to visit again within the month.5/25/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat food, nice upscale settingA nice find in a quiet location off Baltimore Pike in Glen Mills. The food is very goos - lobster bisque is very tasty, the steaks and prime rib are great. Great sides like lobster mashed and lobster mac & cheese. The desserts are ample and tasty - chocolate mousse. Finally, the coffee is pretty darn good too. We have been a few times and have not been disappointed.5/24/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden GemWhen I pulled up outside, I was vaguely uneasy about the exterior appearance/location. Upon opening the front door, the experience immediately changed into something totally the opposite.
The staff was amazing, the food indescribable - all just so totally exceeding my expectations that I had to shake myself to make sure I wasn't imagining it.
Two days later and we are still raving about the food. Especially the appetizers. And the entrees. And the dessert... Even the sorbet was prepared and served in a way that made it memorable!
The price was moderately high - $30 entree range - but worth every penny for the exquisite meal we had. Definitely will be my go to place when asked for a recommendation or have an excuse to celebrate!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful dining experienceMy wife and I have been to the Mile High Steak and Seafood Resturant several times. The food is always wonderful. We chose this resturant for our anniversary dinner. We received complimentary champayne and had the best dessert. I would recommend this resturant for an special occasion.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMWe enjoyed all of the food.We enjoyed all of the food. I especially liked the Lobster Bisque soup. The manner in which it is served adds a nice touch. The steaks were cooked to perfection (medium rare). The only down side was the arrival of a loud group of six at the next table but I don't fault the restaurant for that.Just our bad luck. Our server Lisa P was outstanding.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMDelish! It's always a great FILLING meal at Mile High. The change the menu seasonally to keep everything fresh.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMMagnificent Food -- Great ServiceWonderful dinner at the bar with Michael & Katie. Despite a very busy bar and full dining room, staff keeps it together! Enjoyed the Mushroom Soup for appetizer and Lobster was scrumptious! Always a fun time and great dining experience.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMWe celebrated my husband'sWe celebrated my husband's 50 something birthday at Mile High. The seafood newburgh was awesome as well as the aged strip steak. We took advantage of the surf and turf special that runs on Thursday and Friday evenings. Nice way to get land and sea options since all meat items are included and there were several seafood options. Our waitress Cecilia was a pleasure, just enough banter to make us feel at home but still extreemly professional. She also gave us several ideas for future visits.
Thanks for a very memorable evening.5/16/2013 12:00:00 AMPricey? We continue to love Mile High, but the prices keep
"creeping up". Hopefully they will keep this under control. $11 for a little glass of scotch on the rocks is over the top! The service and food is always excellent but the pricing is a major concern. We LOVE the Thursday and Friday night surf and turf dinners and usually take advantage of that when we can.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious!!Mile High Steak & Seafood has the best steak in town. My husband and I had a wonderful dinner there for my birthday. We are already talking about going back to try one of their seafood entrees!!! The dessert list was just evil!!! There was a wide variety and everything sounded just yummy. I went for the special ice cream of the day which was chocolate with white chocolate chunks -- wonderful!!! My husband had the chocolate, peanut butter pie -- yummy!!! We highly recommend this restaurant.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Mother's DayWe had a fantastic experience at MHSS. So many special touches for Mother's Day.
Free lobster or crab cake w/ all meals (as is the norm on Thurs, and Fri) , free champagne and roses for moms.
Might just be best Mother's Day Out.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMSpecial Occasion Hot SpotOur family has been dining at The Mile High for all our special occasions for three years now. They never fail to impress. We do bring our toddler/preschool children along with us, they are accepted here... but I would say this is a very romantic and fine dining restaurant and would be a better date night out without the kids. The food is excellent, the service is always friendly and on top of things, and the management is terrific too! I have no complaints about this restaurant. You should give it a try!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMFine dining in DELCOWent for Mother's Day- amazing food. Probably one of the best NY Strip steaks I've had in my life. House sauce was a pleasant base. My oldest got the pork chop with the whiskey burbon sauce which was excellent- almost a slight Asian feel with a hint of ginger that was amazing. The three other dishes were excellent- scallops and arugula had a cream sauce base, and the staff was able to accomodate mac'n cheese for my youngest and my daughter's allergies to dairy/egg. Far better food than another speciality steak place with the initials RC that is twice as expensive. The SurfnTurf on thursday/friday was in effect as well- amazing lobster tail...
Will definitely be back in the future- and good to see that there is top dining outside the city.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMMother's Day -- Masterful Meal! Our party of six had a wonderful Mother's Day dinner despite a full restaurant and busy staff. Our waitress, Mary Ellen, did an amazing job keeping everyone happy and checking to see if we needed anything throughout the meal. Food was excellent, served piping hot, and steaks were done to perfection! The complimentary surf and glass of champagne topped off a perfect celebration. On a holiday that can be stressful, Mile High made Mother's Day the special day it should be.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding all around. BestOutstanding all around. Best service I have had in a while. They were even able to prepare an appetizer recommended by my mother...one that was not on the menu. It was unbelievably delicious (Lobster tempura)!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDelicious steak and lobsterGreat filet perfectly cooked, and free lobster tail -- what more could we ask? Service was good. We brought our own wine, and there was no corkage fee. Caesar salad was delicious -- fresh and not too heavily dressed. A super evening out with friends at a local gem.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMForgot how good this wasHadn't been to Mile High in a while - we really enjoyed our meals- the steak was perfectly prepared and so tender. Loved the surf and turf dumplings too. Great for a special occasion.5/9/2013 12:00:00 AM***Super*** Sunday at Mile HighWhat a team! Entering the beautiful bar/dining area of Mile High yesterday for dinner we were greeted by Danielle, the hostess. Danielle is so nice and always pleasant - she remembers frequent customers by name and greets them with sincere appreciation for their visit. Then we decided to have our meal at the bar so we could watch the PGA Golf on the big screen TV. We were greeted by Katey, the bartender, who always has a nice smile for everyone. Despite a busy, full bar, Katey managed to attend to all. Our meals were delicious - my halibut was excellent and my friend's steak was done to perfection. We enjoyed everything in a relaxing, welcoming atmosphere - it's why we keep coming back.5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoymentStaff was extremely courteous and professional....would like to see a great selection on health foods.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMary Ellen - "Waitress of the Year"Mary Ellen, our waitress at Mile High tonite, has a special way of making us feel important. She is fast & courteous, considerate & professional. She individualizes her service & remembers customers by name. Mary Ellen remembers exactly what we order and is always there to make sure everything is to our liking.
Mary Ellen is a tribute to the honorable wait staff profession, rushing to deliver exactly what you want, constantly checking to make sure you're happy with what you are served, always as pleasant as possible. She has an amazing memory, poise, a consummate diplomat, poise, and the patience of a saint.
We are awarding Mary Ellen "Waitress of the Year" Award - she is a tribute to Mile High and the service profession.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite RestaurantThe food at Mile High is the best. It is my favorite place to eat. The steak is so tender I think you could cut it with a fork!!!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding on every respectWe loved this place! The waiter (Steve) was attentive and very accommodating. We all had different menu items and loved them. The food was well prepared and hot. Then to top off a great dinner we had desserts that were homemade (even the ice cream)!
This place is a winner if you are looking for great food and service. The ambience is really upscale and not stuffy as many other "steakhouses" seem to be.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGive Mile High a Try!This was a random find after a visit to Longwood Gardens. Once you're inside, you forget that the restaurant is situated in a shopping center. We were seated immediately as well. The menu has a variety of steak and seafood options. A very nice dining option!4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent Food - Hidden GemWe had a wonderful, romantic dinner - excellent steak and seafood dishes. We are so glad we found this non-chain restaurant. We'll be back!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe love this restaurant. We love this restaurant. They have really delious steaks and the Friday night free surf with your turf makes it extra special. Their steaks are as good as any I've had including the big expensive steak chains and the local historic inns.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful steaks and the FridayWonderful steaks and the Friday nite Surf with a Turf is a terrific bargain. Hard to beat Mile High.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMDining at the Bar - Five Star*****We had a wonderful dinner at the bar with Michael & Katie. Our food was piping hot, Dry Aged NY Strip Steak was sumptuous! Substituting asparagus for haricot vert is never a problem...baked potatoes piping hot and fluffy! To top it off, Michael's mixology skills are a huge draw at this great restaurant. He has what it takes from years of experience: Super Attitude, Memory, & Great Suggestions (translating customers likes & dislikes into amazing concoctions)! Is it just a coincidence Michael's initials are MH?!! We love Mile High (MH)!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMLook No Further--It's Here! For those of you searching for a culinary experience like no other, look no further than Mile High. This restaurant is located in a rather unassuming strip mall near Rte. 1 & 202 that’s quite easy to miss. However, the interior will remind visitors of a cool, relaxing oasis. The decor allows the simplistic beauty of the food to really shine, though beauty isn’t the only thing bringing folks to Mile High. The restaurant buzzed with excited energy on Tuesday's "Burger Bonanza" offering 8 gourmet burgers for a Happy Hour price of $6.50 (normally $13). The restaurant was comfortably full w/happy patrons, enjoying their meals & having a great time. The bartender, Michael, is wonderful--attentive, caring, & fun.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMIn a location that you'd wonderIn a location that you'd wonder what it might be like...a small shopping center near Rt,202 and on US 1....but it's great inside and the drinks and food are absolutely fantastic. We will go back.4/23/2013 12:00:00 AMThe Real DealWe had a great family meal which started with cocktails at the bar and moved to a comfortable booth in the bar area. Becca was so pleasant and went the extra mile to make our dining experience enjoyable. The quality ingredients & chef's finesse in bringing out the best in the dishes served keeps us coming back. Children are welcome and my niece, who is a vegetarian enjoyed her meal immensely. The chef’s treatment of Blackened Halibut is the standard by which we judge all fish items & why we only eat here! Just when we thought we didn't have room for dessert, we were drawn by the house made Chocolate Cheesecake and Cinnamon Ice Cream - heaven!4/22/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was outstanding startingThe food was outstanding starting with their warm bread basket. My husband and I shared the arugula, spinach, pear, pecan salad with honey dijohn vinegarete dressing which was very good. I had their speical twin lobster served with a baked potato and vegetables. My husband had filet which was cooked to his expectation.. We were with another couple whose wife and I had the same thing and our husbands had the same. Their drinks were also good - not everyone makes a good martini or manhattan. The bar was very busy and noisy; the restaurant is right by the bar and the ambience does not match the quality of food. However, we will definitely visit this restaurant again.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMOscar Worthy CuisineThe word "mediocre" isn't in the Mile High vocabulary...everything about our dinner was satisfying and delicious. We also enjoy Happy Hours which are every day and whether it's an appetizer, bar menu item or a custom made Martini...the result shows the staff and owner care about making the customers' experience a memorable one. Danielle, Emily & Ali (the hostesses) are always pleasant. It starts when you enter the door & continues until you leave...with a thank you & wishes for your return when you leave.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Happy HourWent for dinner - stopped for Happy Hour and never left! Drinks were good, bar food was outstanding, service was very good. A most pleasant evening.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMMelt In Your Mouth TBone Steaks!!!!We were going to try the new bar menu (great selections) but decided on eating in the dining room after hearing the TBone specials. What a great decision!!!!The TBones melted in your mouth. These were superb! Perfectly cooked and priced just right made this a great end of work week outing. Mile High continues to surpass all other steak and seafood houses. Do not hesitate if the TBone is a special for the night. You will not be disappointed. Here is hoping that it becomes a regular menu item. The atmosphere makes it a perfect choice whether eating a steak at the bar or restaurant. The well made drinks along with a decent well priced wine selection makes Mile High our choice for dining in the burbs.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is the second time IThis is the second time I visited the restaurant. The food was not as good as the first time I went. My dining partner stated that his fish was bland. I had the signature dish which is a filet mignon with a sesame bernaise sauce. Unfortunately I could not find the sesame flavor.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AM*** A Tasty Vacation ***The 14oz. mouth-watering, tender Dry Aged New York Strip Steak arrived with an absolutely perfect fluffy, piping hot, baked potato & perfectly cooked asparagus (which our waiter, Steve, had absolutely no problem substituting for the haricot verts). My friend enjoyed two scrumptious lump crab cakes with an irresistible whole grain Dijon sauce & the best creamed spinach I have ever tasted. Plates and food arrived piping hot. Dining here is like a vacation for us...relaxing, pampered by staff, a welcome oasis in the dessert of chain restaurants with below par food. The prices are moderate - worth every penny!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways Exciting - Never Boring!Enjoyed a wonderful meal of the most fresh-tasting fish (Antarctic Mero Sea Bass) prefaced by a crisp, Arugula, Radicchio & Spinach Salad. Even though we have dined in this beautiful restaurant many times, the dynamic menu, courteous staff, & consistent excellent quality of the food makes for an exciting new experience each and every time.4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMClassy, Relaxing & Enjoyable!Excellent steaks & seafood...pleasant atmosphere. Wait staff and hostess were so nice! Made our night out a special occasion. Wine list is superb! Desserts...Bananas Foster Wontons w/Vanilla Ice Cream...decadent!4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMNEVER a disappointment!New York Strip is our favorite...all the beef and seafood here is top notch. Servers and bartenders are so courteous. It speaks volumes that the management cares about their customers. We are regulars and clearly others are too...it's like a fine dining club and we are thankful for this oasis in a sea of non-caring low-quality restaurants.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMHidden Gem of a SteakhouseI would say this was one of the best Steak Dinners I have had in the area. The service was attentive but not overbearing. Overall I was impressed and will certainly go back again for dinner.4/10/2013 12:00:00 AMWowWe had a delightful evening at Mile HIgh. I'd been there before but my dining friend hadn't. She was very impressed and has added Mile High to her list of fine restaurants. Both of our fish entrees were outstanding. The waitress was available but not hovering and the general atmosphere was a delight. If I could change one thing, I'd say the A/C was a bit too cool...we were glad we'd brought jackets. (I'm guessing that the sudden change of weather made for a tricky adjustment in temperature.) We will be back!!4/8/2013 12:00:00 AM
