Our menus range from $22 to $52 per person. Each event is modified per the hosts requests and needs. There is a $400 food minimum for luncheons, a $600 food minimum for Sunday-Thursday dinners and an $800 food minimum for Friday and Saturday dinners. We are North Central Florida's farm-to-table, local, sustainable foods restaurant. Operated by Bert and Tara Gill, Mildred's offers a seasonally changing menu highlighting what is available locally.



Offering quality and freshness with no shortcuts; Chef du cuisine Adam Fehrenbacher and Sous chef Rebecca Garcia prepare each dish from scratch.



We serve organic produce and fresh Florida seafood every day. We feature a full bar, an award winning wine list and homemade cakes and cheesecakes.

Mildred's is proud to say we serve Gainesville's best food! We are also awarded the Golden Spoon for our dedication to great service year after year.

  • " A big disappointment. Terrible service. Although the restaurant was nearly empty, we hardly saw our server. That sandwich & fries? She only brought the sandwich because 'fries are not ready yet'. Fries came out 10 minutes later. Not good. My salmon was undercooked. Came with pasta, which I didn't notice was on the menu else I'd have ordered something else. Burger was ordered medium-rare, but was served well-done. Instead of refilling my coffee at the table, the server kept taking away my coffee cup to refill it; same with water glasses. My guests were very disappointed with both food and service. One positive note, the slices of cake are big and delicious. Go to Mildred's for dessert..only."

We were very pleased with our choice of Mildred's for food, service, and ambience. Lunch offered some wonderful choices but we started with fried calamari - fresh calamari, fried perfectly. Lunch brought quiche, homemade frankfurter, and curry chicken salad - all delicious. Shared a strawberry shortcake for dessert - divine. Wish more appetite for the great dessert selections. Our server was terrific - friendly, attentive, knowledgeable - did not miss a thing. We will be back."

  • "This visit to Mildred's was delightful. Service was outstanding: no rush to get through each course so they could bring on the next one, wait staff was attentive but not hovering; able to discuss wines with some knowledge (unusual) and noise level was such that we could talk among the group without screaming at each other. Two appetizers for 4 were sufficient -Duck confit, and cheese platter- both very good; Champagne cocktail was refreshing and worth a repeat the next visit; Duck breast was just seared and served rare which my companion said was perfect; the scallops were served with a vegetable combination that I found unusual but tasty; our other dining companions each had the same fish that they said was beautifully done. "

  • "I eat here frequently and the experience is always awesome! The menu changes constantly so there's always something new to try and the service staff will take great care of you. On this trip, we had the bacon-wrapped stuffed rabbit and the goat-cheese crusted lamb chops both of which were delicious. Ask you server what wine to have with your meal and they will point you to some small label vineyards on their wine list that are producing some tasty wines. And save room for dessert, all their cakes are made in house and go great with a nice glass of port. "

  • "Have eaten at CHEF GILL'S three restaurants. Was disappointed in Mildred's because my Pork Chop was over-cooked. Dry and difficult to cut. Mushroom soup was good. My husband's Pompano should have been more seared....lacked any color. Our server provided good service. Blue Gill is much better."

My mother had a salmon which was wonderful and my husband had his usual scallop dish which he really enjoyed. I decided to try the duck breast and it was a little tough but flavorful."

All of the dishes were outstanding, and the staff took excellent care of us."

  • "Found a rabbit entree on New Years Eve menu - an item rarely found in restaurants. Both of us have enjoyed rabbit in the past so gave it a try. This was the best ever! Boned chunks were wonderfully seasoned and prepared in a bacon wrapped roll about 5 inches in diameter and served as 3/4 inch slices. Anyone who was thinking about ordering it, but hesitated because it seemed a bit too different missed a real treat!"

  • "My mom and I were traveling from Naples, FL to Atlanta, GA and stopped for the night in Gainesville. On Open Table, I found Mildreds Big City Food - it was just a few miles from our hotel and the description sounded interesting. We had an early dinner reservation so the restaurant was mostly empty when we arrived. Over the next hour, it filled with what were obviously locals who frequented the restaurant, judging from interactions with the wait staff. We started with specialty cocktails, housemade bread and then proceeded to salads and entrees. I had the local chicken, roasted and my mom had the salmon, both very good. The description of the restaurant mentioned housemade cakes and cheesecake so we left room to enjoy. Delicious!"
