Seated on time. Had terrific service from our waitperson. Can't remember her name but she was there when we needed something every time! Wish all waiters were on top of their game like her. Food arrived in a timely manner and tasted good.

  • So, we were looking to go

So, we were looking to go out on a Sunday night and many of the places we've been meaning to try are closed on Sundays. So after a little searching, saw pretty consistently good reviews for Milagro and decided to give it a try. I'm glad we found it, because we will definitely be back. Appetizers and entrees definitely take Mexican cuisine to the next level. I like our neighborhood Mexican restaurants just fine, but there is not much going on in terms of creativity. There is definitely creativity at Milagro. Mole was delicious. Jalisco shrimp and grits were off the charts. Finally, the care shown to the Margaritas was great! No sweet & sour in these things -- they were done as they should be. Overall, prices weren't on the level

  • After several wonderful dining

After several wonderful dining experiences at Milagro, we chose it for Valentine's Day and were disappointed with both the service--drinks (house margaritas) arrived after the appetizer (the always wonderful tuna ceviche) AND the salad--and our main courses, which must have been prepared by an inexperienced sous-chef. (We had elected NOT to eat the special steak/lobster prix-fixe menu. Could that have been our error?). We shared our detailed questions/comments with the kitchen, and when we return for the tuna ceviche, we hope to find the excellent quality main dishes we have enjoyed on previous occasions.

Simply put, Milagro Modern Mexican is easily the most interesting, consistent, and original of Mexican restaurants in St. Louis. With a hearty soul and not one ounce of pretense, they deliver unique and delicious dishes that are a blend of classic and offbeat flavors. It is all delivered by a friendly and capable staff. Worth every calorie and every minute you may have to wait on a busier night.

Even though I made a reservation for 2 using OpenTable, I was able to call the restaurant and change it to 3 without any problems; even keeping the same time. When we arrived, the hostess seated us immediately. We have been here several times but this waiter was the best we ever had. I wish I noted his name but let's just say, based on the last 2-3 we had, he was overall the tops. I really like the top shelf margarita; which does not taste like sugar or a sour lime. It is the best ever. Our meal was fantastic as usual. I typically order the specials and was extremely satisfied with the fish and grits. My family and I have been trying to visit Milaro's at least 3x each month. It would be more if I didn't have to travel so much for work.

Friends who had been there raved about how good this place was. But how exciting could a Mexican restaurant be? Very exciting. We started with guacomole that was as good as I have ever had. Chips were warm and fresh. My wife had the shrimp and grits with a sauce that was outstanding. I had a combo plate with a fish taco, chicken quesedilla and beef enchilada and all were excellent. Even the margarita was perfectly made. We cannot wait to return.

Don't know how I've missed this place other than the fact that it's tucked away at the back of the parking lot, so you're not likely to stumble across it. First time there and the entire experience was perfect. Spent 30 minutes at the bar and the bartender was friendly, attentive and informative. Talking about not only the bar options, but volunteering information on the menu as well. The margaritas are as good as advertised. The table was ready at the time reserved. Had the queso fundido, pork tenderloin and poblano pepper.....all were well above average. Once we got to the table, the server was every bit as good as the bar tender. Friendly and professional, knew the menu. Will definately be back.

The food was definitely unique Mexican. I had pork shoulder that melted in your mouth with corn off the cob (signature dish) and smashed plantains. It was delicious and there was plenty of it. It was a birthday dinner and they even provided a very large portion of flan for 4 to share. And of course, a great cranberry margarita started off the evening. Definitely recommend this.

Have been there two times. Upscale creative menu. Service was great the fist time, but a bit slow the second. Not that it took a long time to get the food, but the server was hard to attract to refill our top shelf margaritas. It was a busy Friday night the second time so I would cut them some slack. Overall it was a fun and unique dining experience.

The food was OK but not outstanding. Featured red wine was not particularly good, kind of bitter and harsh. Portion sizes are mostly on the small side so if someone in your group has an appetite, they will not be satisfied with a typical entree. Disappointing since this was a family birthday (adult) party and we had been to the restaurant before with a more positive meal.

We had the pollo milagro. The chicken was okay, but the rice was cold and the sauce on the chicken was not warm. The service was very good for a restaurant of this level, but the ambiance was much overstated in their advertising. The prices were fine. The dessert selection was very limited and we skipped it. The lingering impression was that they were much more impressed than we were. We may go again sometime and try another dish, but we're in no hurry.

  • The Milagro Margarita still
    OpenTable Diner Since 2012
    Dined on 12/23/2012
The Milagro Margarita still isn't traditional but it's also not a syrupy mess. The salsas and other sauces are decent but nothing I'd rave about. You MUST try the ceviche. It lacks some consistency from visit to visit, but ranges from good and worth it to fantastic and really worth it. Not fine dining (like what MEDIANoche was trying to achieve) but also not run-of-the-mill American Mexican restaurant. The place gets more crowded during weekend evenings but if you get there at the transition from lunch to dinner, you might have the whole place to yourself. I've had orders messed up and not every dish blows me away but nothing on the menu has been disappointing. It's my routine, go-to spot for reasonably-priced Authentic-er Mexican fare

Celebrated my birthday at Milagros with a group of 9. Husband really enjoyed duck specialty dish! Our server was exceptional! Was seated along a wall area; one side chairs, the other a booth. Although we had fun, a round table would have alllowed a better opportunity to socialize. Seating design is more suited toward parties of 2 to 4. Pitcher of Top Shelf Margaritas seemed high....$40.
