A word from Miku Restaurant
We specialize in Aburi, or flamed-seared sushi, which was developed nearly a century ago in Japan. The act of applying fire directly and lightly sear is known to enhance the natural flavors of the fish. Miku owner, Seigo Nakamura, innovated the Aburi concept by creating speciality sauces, using non-traditional Japanese ingredients, to complement the unique taste properties of each fish.

Miku Restaurant is within walking distance from the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place, Trade & Exhibition Centre, IMAX Theatre, Cruise Ship Terminals and Sea Bus. If shopping downtown, join us for lunch and re-energize.

It's entrance is at the corner of Howe Street and Canada Place Way, overlooking the east cruiseship terminal at Canada Place.

**Please note: We do not take reservations for the patio as it is a first come, first serve basis. We also only will hold reservations for an additional 15 minutes.

Miku had the highest quality of food I have had in awhile. It exceeded my expecations from the quality to the mixture of ingredients. The service was perfect. I went there twice in one week. I even wrote down the recipe's for the EBI Fritter's. The calamari and Ebi Oshi was fantastic! Make it a point to visit this restaurant.

The food is top notch. The melange of tastes is superb. Food is timely, service is great. Our favourite place to go. Also the only sushi restaurant that does not serve soy sauce and it is definitely not needed. That defines the creamy taste.

We had a wonderful dinner at Miku. it's not cheap by any means, but you do get what you pay for. The fish is extraordinarily fresh, the presentation beautiful, and the dishes delicious and creative. Our server (didn't catch his name unfortunately) was gracious and friendly. the view is stellar, but if you aren't by the window, it feels a bit pedestrian in terms of ambiance.

I have had a number of dinners at Miku. Each one has been outstanding. The servers are exceptionally helpful and well informed about all the details of the menu. The service is prompt. The food is divine! If you don't know much about Japanese food just ask the server to bring you a meal. I've done this twice and each time gotten a fabulous meal for a reasonable price. Definitely my favourite place to go for a splendid Japanese meal.

Excellent location in downtown Vancouver along Burrard Inlet. While patio seating cannot be reserved - arrive early and try for one of these tables. The Coal Harbour Platter can be shared - fantastic fresh oysters and prawns. The Aburi Oshi Sushi (Salmon) was tasty and we highly recommend the Red Wave Roll and the Miku Roll. Try the Sake Flight - 3 handpicked sakes by the restaurants experts. Smooth melon tones to the richness of darker stronger flavours.

My group and I were not too sure what we were getting ourselves into. We had heard good things about Miku and decided to try things out, did not want to do too much research as we wanted a bit of a surprise. Sure enough, we got a delightful and delicious one. We ordered the Aburi, Premium, Aburi Chirashi Tart, Salmon Oshi Sushi, Saba Oshi Sushi, and last but not least the Miku Zen. The presentation was simple and nice, and the taste of all the food (especially the Aburi dishes) were very delicate and flavorful. One of the most, if not most, high end sushi my group and I have had ever.

I visit Miku often because of love the food and the ambience is nice. However during my last experience I was disappointed with the service. Our server seemed very uninterested, was always in a rush but then no where to be found. She did not welcome us even. Also, this restaurant needs more experienced hostesses. Every time I go they are all standing around looking at the same screen and looking confused. The hostesses are supposed to be vibrant, and seem like they know what they are doing. Minami hostesses are much much better.

Maybe the best Japanese meal I've ever had (this from an obnoxious NYer) Aburi sushi is the way to go - brings out oils and intricate flavors of the fish. Could eat the soba pepperoncini all day every day. Beautiful waterfront setting highlights the outstanding food. Not to be missed if in Vancouver - looking forward to trying sister restaurant Minami next time there.

the food tastes great and the presentation was wonderful. our server knows the menu well and she provided very sincere service on an exceptionally busy Monday evening. however, the restaurant stinks (and it's not the typically seafood smell as that's acceptable) especially at the entrance area. that's very disappointing although I think the staff and chef are not aware of it as they have been working there for hours.

This was my 4th time dining at Miku. When I was there the first 3 times, food were excellent. Taste was evenly distributed (not too plain nor salty). The first 3 times were spread in a 6 months span. The 4th time was a disappointment, soba pepproncino was salty, sashimi was too soggy, even their most infamous oshisushi was NOT good. the taste was not EVEN spread on the oshisushi. some were plain, some were tasteful. It is NOT magical compared to the first 3 times when i was there. Not sure if it's because the restaurant was too busy. However, it is always busy. Service was great as always. all servers were nice and friendly. anyways, i think i will stop dining at miku for a while.

We live in Victoria but were told to eat at miku when we visited van. Now we can't eat sushi in Victoria anymore as miku is hands down best we have ever had. Once you try the chefs aburi special you will understand what I'm saying .. Salmon Oshi I think it's called .... Beaut .... Order till your full as everything sent out of that kitchen is ridiculous in flavour ... Only neg is it is $$$$ but what do you expect if it happens to be the best sushi you have ever had it must cost $$$ plus the view isn't bad either lol

Hi, MIKU offered very good food, some of it quite original and presentation was nice. The service was not great for ths standard of restaurant. The decor is beautiful, however the restaurant is very big and as it was not full there was a lack of ambience. It was sort of eat and go, which is unfortunate in such a beautiful place.

Went to Miku for the first time. Service was great, food was great and view was great. The price is a little high for sushi but the food was well worth the price. What I liked the most is that you did not have to order just one type of sushi but could mix up the different types and try them all. I would definitely recommend the calamari, probably the best we have had. I would also recommend the Oburi Oshi Sushi, it was amazing. The service was wonderful and our server was very helpful with explaining the menu since it was our first time at the restaurant. I would definitely go again.
