Mike Shannon's Steaks & SeafoodOverallBeing a Giant fan on vacation to visit family, chose Mike Shannon's for our final day together celebration and it was outstanding! The steaks were truly the best anyone has had; the Brussel sprouts need further attention-needed a steak knife to cut. Ordered two Martinis but requested gin was only available for one; no mint for mojitos after bartender took the order.

Service was wonderful and food was great although everything is a la carte we both ordered a steak and just one side each and it was plenty to eat. With mozzarella and tomatoes as a starter. Glass of Malbec. Creme Brûlée for desert. Service was excellent. Just the right amount of friendliness if you know what I mean. On second thougt, this meal was second only to the one I had after the Air Force stuck me in the woods for a week with nothing to eat but an ant. But that was only a bag of m & m peanuts. I received a reservation cancellation from you but I had not canceled. It was quite disturbing because I had people coming from out of town, but I appartently received the notice in error. After I called the restaraunt, they still had my reservation in tact. Paul the waiter was helpful without being overbearing. We spent 3 hours there, cocktails, salad, meal ended with great desert and coffee.

Great food and wine and although we were 1 hour early for our reservation, they made it work and seated our group of 4 right away.

My wife's meal was good but mine was not. The caesar salad was bland, the dressing lacked real flavor. My ribeye was overcooked. I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium to medium well and also lacked flavor. Last we were disappointed in the desert menu. It looks like they hired a new person out of Pastry school and they were trying too hard. Everything on the sheet was over embellished. Sometimes a simple desert is called for, a plain piece of NY Cheesecake.
