Most restaurants throw anything and everything on the buffet, good or not. Ditkas puts out their best dishes and doesnt spare a detail. We go every Mothers Day and Fathers Day. During our most recent trip, our server at the Oakbrook location was Chris S. and he was both professional as well as had a superb attitude. On all of the occasions that I have visited the restaurant, the food has been fantastic, and the service has always been above and beyond accomodating and cheerful. Ditka's is one of those restaurants that is on my list as a "go to" restaurant when thinking of where to go. One request, please don't think about taking the filet mignon sliders and the wedge salad off the menu. They are a great late night, you don't want to feel overly full, items to eat. Food was delicious, service was great. Very kid-friendly for our 3 kids including an infant. When we arrived our table was all set with kid menus and a high chair as I indicated as a need in my notes during the online reservation! Everyone greeted mom happy birthday and she had a blast! It all started with the valet. Very courteous. And then inside: our waitress (Sara) was the absolute BEST. We eat out alot and I have to say, by far, she was OUTSTANDING. Very personable and very attentive and accommodating. Her suggestions were right on and the food was superb -- and there was plenty of it. This was a birthday celebration for our youngest sister who has special needs and Sara was tuned into it from the get-go. All-in-all a memorable experience for all of us. We have always loved Ditkas location in Oak Brook but we never are bothered by spending time in the city or suburbs near or far to get a steak at one of the other fine steak houses we are blessed with in this area. The roast beef nachos were yet again fabulous. Gone in seconds. Everyone enjoyed their dinner. Our 14 year old enjoyed his filet & loaded baked potato while watching the Blackhawks game on his birthday - can't get any better than that. For dessert our daughter had ordered this Oreo nut caramel thing and it was HUGE and delicious...she was in heaven b/c she loves desserts.
The only negative was the temperature.
