A word from MiJo's Tex-Mex & Cantina
MiJo’s tex-mex & cantina is owned and operated by Claudia Caballero and is derived from Panchito’s Mexican Restaurant and Pericos Mexican Cuisine. Panchito’s is owned and operated by Roy and Evelyn Reyes. Pericos Mexican Cuisine is owned and operated by Russell Reyes. For the past 30 years the Reyes family has provided its guests in San Antonio true authentic Mexican food, famous homemade flour and corn tortillas and outstanding service. Claudia is bringing the same great recipes, with an Austin twist!


MiJo’s tex-mex & cantina is named after two very special children, Mia Caballero and Jordan Russell. Mia and Jordan are my niece and nephew. The restaurant is specifically named after both children, Mi for Mia and Jo for Jordan. You will see them often eating in the restaurant. Their pictures are on almost every table in the house.

  • "I saw that the restaurant was listed on OT and booked a reservation for 8. I got a confirmation number and when a member of our party arrived early that evening mentioning the reservation, there was no record of it. Fortunately, they were not too crowded and were able to accommodate us with a table. Does OT need to contact them about this or are they not really participating in OT. Would be helpful to know for future reference."

  • "The food was bad; no other way to say it. Our waitress was great, friendly, knowledgeable, joyful, etc. I hope she finds a job at a place with better food. Example: My enchiladas "chipotle" didn't have "chipotle" sauce on top of them; it has melted cheese that looked like velveta (in 30 seconds it was rubbery and hard)."
