The restaurant was nearly empty on a freezing Thursday night in November. The staff were all welcoming and informative. I love place with great ambiance and this place has a very interesting ambience. It has lots of Louis XIV mirrors and such, a giant portrait of George Washington with a young twenty-something coolness that I had never seen before. The prix fixe dinner was about $90 with $45 for three course wine pairing. My son ordered a la carte and I had an extra sake and he ordered about 3 drinks. The bill with tip came to about $400. They gave us each a complimentary glass of nice wine along the way. The unusual features (displays of Japanese tea pots and art and engaging design, etc.) make it a place that provides lots of spurs to conversation and thus useful for dates or dinners with people where conversation starters are helpful. The food was presented in artful ways and was fresh and tasty.

A few friends and I went to Mihoko's 21grams for my birthday the other night. I have been here for dinner several times before, but each time it gets better and better. The food was delicious, I had the 3 course prix fixe dinner. I started with the sea scallops, then had the lamb rack which was an indulgence. For dessert I selected the souffle and it is indeed the best souffle in town. The food portions for every meal were very appropriate for the great quality of each dish. Most important, the service was outstanding, the staff pays close attention to detail and ensures customer satisfaction. Nothing is perfect, but Mihoko's 21 Grams is for me. I highly recommend it for people who enjoy delicious food and outstanding service.

We came here on a whim on a Saturday night. One of us got the full 7 course Omakase and the other got the 3 course menu. I was a little dissapointed with the omakase, it was a little bit too repetitive with dishes featuring raw tuna. Almost all the dishes except for the miso soup was cold. I wish I could have seen some kind of cooked or grilled meat or fish in the middle. Was also annoyed that the dessert was a scoop of plain macha ice cream and they wouldn't give me anything else. The 3 course menu was pretty good, the tuna burger was tasty. But again would have liked to have seen something un-sushi related anywhere on the menu. Especially for tasting menus. Waiter was nice and ambience really cool.

Dead, way way overpriced, bad food. Ruined the night. Our table of 3 were the only customers that night. And I can see why; a pretentious menu, ridiculous price, and the food was bad. It was neither fresh nor tasty. The service was overly involved, meaning we felt very watched and monitored the whole night, and not in a good way. It made us uncomfortable. I will never return.

Pleasure of dining at Mihoko's 21 Grams. The food was delicious, the service fantastic and an overall pleasure. As such, I came back to Mihoko's 21 Grams with the expectations of a similar experience. However, They upgrade the service which is batter then before. The dishes were Perfect, inventive, interesting, and most important, delicious. The service is attentive without being trying. Menu offers sufficient choices to please everyone with vegetarian option. Most interesting is the beautiful romantic scenic Decor. A particular favorite was Wagyu Cube Sushi, the Seaweed and Lamb. Everything was perfect and I will be recommending Mihoko's 21 Grams to friends.

Best dish was the nigiri set. Omakase not worth the price. The restaurant should probably offer a-la-carte menu instead of sets. Maybe then it can attract more customers. I really like the concept, but food quality is not at the price charged. Very different level compared to 15 East or Sushi of Gari, yet the price might be more expensive. No wonder it was as quiet as a grave on a Friday night dinner time. I mean, this is NYC! even a so-so restaurant usually has no problem attracting diners during this time. I would probably go back for light drinks, as the ambience is great for lounging/gossiping, but definitely not ordering any food unless offered at a-la-carte price.

Went there on Memorial weekend and besides one other table, just me & friend. Celebrating friend's birthday and this is by far the most wonderful dining experience in New York City in years. Feels like celebrity here. Even though everyone is away for holidays. Restaurant stays open for our reservation, had the whole place for ourselves. This place has all senses, atmosphere, deco, food, music, services and great pairing wines. Amazing experience and my friend loves it too. I will definitely visit it again in the future. We happened to caught glance of the owner and she is stunning lady. Down to earth and beautiful.

Mihoko's 21Grams is an amazing restaurant GEM. I had the honor of having dinner here and a private cocktail party for my graduation. My Cocktail party was planned by the restaurant and it was the BEST with delicious food and amazing cocktails. The service was at its best and all the staff was thoughtful, considerate, and helpful throughout the entire night. The ambiance was excellent and the entire night was outstanding. The best part of the cocktail party was that the canapes were delicious, plentiful, and beautifully plated. Mihoko's 21grams is the BEST RESTAURANT IN NYC! It is amazing for dinner and private events like my cocktail party. Most important the management works with your budget unlike other fine dining restaurants.

Mihoko's 21 Grams is impressive by all means: superb dishes, wine list and professional service. You can't miss with this restaurant! We went for the ordinary $95 3 dishes menu with some doubt if it is not a bit too limited. We found out that it is very satisfying by all means. The Captain recommanded a French Shabu Shabu which proved to be very good. The COD stood out and is definitely a high point.

Great ambience; very attentive service (without being overbearing). I got the sense the waiters cared about working there. Food's great, but portions are way too small. I ate every piece bread item offered just to supplement my meal. And an hour after getting home, I ate a bowl of Raisin Bran. Never before have I gone out to such a luxe place, and had to eat so soon after.

Food are amazing and great quality , but service I would say average . We order the omakase menu plus few extra portion of a la carte before the set menu . Waiters always forgot the drink order , inbetween meal forgot to offer water once we finish , Once we finish dish , waiters couldn't make a afford to pay attention on the table. Don't get why we need to pay the service change which they can't even simple provide a good services .

The Restaurant is stunning, with pieces of art all over that are mostly collected from France. The space is stunning. The staff there were all very attentive. Our server Kevin did a wonderful job explaining what each course was, and even delighted us with some chef compliments. They have unique cocktails that were delicious, and an extensive wine list. I appreciated that they had bottles ranging from $50- over $700. The food was exquisite, the preperation, the melding of the flavors with the french touch and asian accents was perfection. Before we left, a kind man there showed us the different pieces of art that the owner had collected. This entire restaurant is one you will rave about after visiting it. Its romantic, beautiful and unique.

This is not a restaurant experience but a feast for all senses. With its lavish white leather furniture, Cartier mirrors, exquisite chandeliers this magnificent place amazes you every minute. The symphony of three course dinner comes served on tailor made dishes and cutlery. There is soft classical music in the background and a slide of paintings discretely filling out a white frame. Our favorite appetizers were the Burger 21 Grams and the delicately flavored Miso soup which comes in a surprise setting. The fluffy cod and tender meat were complimented artistically with stylish sauce and colorful side dishes . Tread carefully. You have entered the magic realm of Mihoko's soul.

This is my second time going to Mihoko's and both experiences were AMAZING. I just wanted to have a good meal, some sushi and some tasty cocktails. This time I ordered the sushi omakase and it was DELICIOUS!!! All the dishes were outstanding, with astonishing food presentation. I am in love with the yuzi dessert, it was euphoric. I must say, when dining here you should try it. The best part of the night was when the manager had recognized me and welcomed me back with a cocktail on the house. I had the Mangue Tropicale and it was top notch. Next time I dine here, I am going to try the sake and wine pairing because I am sure it will be exquisite like every other detail of this restaurant. Mihoko's 21 Grams has to be one of NYC's best hidden gems ! I dinned here with my boyfriend the last night and we couldn't have had a more romantic evening. The food was INCREDIBLE and the service was FANTASTIC ! Their 3 course prix-fixe for $85 is top notch ! I'm not sure where else you can find a better deal ! I had the Beets, followed by a delicious tender Beef entree, and ended it off with a chocolate souffle. And for drinks ? I couldn't get enough of the Champagne Noir. I must of have had about 4 glasses ! Mihoko's 21 grams is definitely the place to take your special someone or a group of friends. Im already planning my next visit to Mihoko's. AMAZING DINNER! I dined here the other night for my best friend's birthday and it was a memorable night. The decor is exquisite, I have never seen so much detail and fine art intertwined in such an elegant manner. For my three courses, I started off with the beet salad than had the lobster for my main dish and then, chocolate souffle. The birthday girl had the sushi omakase and a special birthday dessert, she was delighted. Their winter cocktail menu was top notch and the prices were not as expensive as other fine dining restaurants. The staff was very polite, well trained, and had extensive knowledge of the menu. If you haven't dined here yet, you're missing out on the BEST DINING EXPERIENCE IN NYC I will be coming back to try the new menu

The restaurant did everything it could to ruin Valentines Day. When we arrived, the hostess was rude. After being seated, it was impossible to get a waiters attention to place a drinks order. Finally, after 20 minutes we order a cocktail, though for the next 30 minutes we don't receive one of the drinks despite multiple requests. After being seated for 50 minutes we receive the missing cocktail and the first course of our 6 course tasting menu. The tuna cigars was fishy & inedible. I asked to speak to the manager but he never came over. They sold out of sparking wine on valentines day. Finally, 30 minutes and no food later, we got our coats and left the restaurant along with four other tables who all walked out. Overpriced and terrible.

The restaurant was nicely decorated, and hostess was very welcoming. Unfortunately, it appears management made a error of judgement in the selection of a difficult and extensive tasting menu for St Valentine's Evening. The place was woefully understaffed in both the kitchen and the wait staff. The food was excellent - however, this was delivered with long waiting periods between courses, and on one occasion in the wrong order. The wine pairing was also not delivered with the appropriate course. We experienced numerous walk-outs around us. And the night was topped off by the arrival of the NYPD after a bag was supposedly stolen during the evening. All in all a real shame. I am sure this restaurant can be amazing, but it let itself down

The service was so bad all the tables in the restaurant walked out in the middle of their meals.

We got the valentines menu and the wine pairing for two. The valentines menu wasn't as good as the regular menu, but the food was still good, and the service was outstanding where the waiter would come and explain each dish and each wine until somewhere between our 3rd and 4th course where we were left waiting for 1.5 HOURS between courses. The place looked like it got a lot busier at the time so I guess maybe that had something to do with it, but at the very least someone should have came by and told us something. We were told nothing, and nobody came by to apologize (during the wait, nor after). The waiter was lucky that my gf and I were patient and enjoyed each other's company until he got it together.

Great Toro cigar, wonderful beet salad, superb seared foie gras, and melt-in-your mouth sushi. That's the last course received. After 1 and 1/2 hours waiting for next course we couldn't take it any more. Totally inexplicable. Too bad. Restaurant is stylish and perfect for an elegant dining experience. I appreciated white tablecloth. Not sure if it was service or kitchen but we arrived at 6pm and then begging to leave at 9 pm didn't quite leave with a positive impression.

Worst dining experience of our lives - Valentine's day ruined! We were told that the kitchen was horrendously understaffed, which is why the wait staff were unable to handle the crowd. took ~6 hours to be served chef's tasting menu. The wait staff kept losing track of courses and drink orders, which only added to the frustration. And for the night cap? My wife's coat was actually stolen from the coat check room, and we had to file a police report with groups of others that had a similar experience. It's a real shame because a few of the plates were actually top notch, but we'll never come back or recommend this place to anyone we know...
