  • "Elegant atmosphere, small but interesting menu, both our meals were delicious. Extensive wine selections."

  • "Really happening at brunch/lunch. Great waiter who was attentive and informative but not intrusive. Loved the " bottomless" Bloody Mary" feature! Dishes were delicious!"

  • "Seems like every time I go to midtown, it's getting more upscale - menu and service - and in a good way. Food was very good, well-cooked, great presentation, and above all ... Tasty! Definitely a High-energy/noisy space"

  • "Midtown never dissappoints. I've been going there for years. Great spot to for lunch with good food, service. I've never had a negative experience. This is a spot to bring your clients for lunch or just catch up with an old friend."

  • "We have been coming here since it was Cappers in the 80s and it only seems to keep getting better. The food is creative, reasonably priced, and it is always a great dining experience. The wine list seems a bit pricey but reasonably priced options are available. Highly recommended."

  • "From seating us at an excellent quiet table to the outstanding service and the excellent food, our experience will bring us back to this restaurant often."

  • "We had 7:30 reservations. We arrived on time, but our table was not ready. We told them that we would wait at the bar. They seated two other parties, so we asked why we were not seated, they said "oh we thought you wanted more time at the bar". We finally got seated at 8:15, 45 minutes late. By that time most tables were empty. I think they overbooked and could not accommodate us right from the beginning of the night. I will not go there again."

  • "I have been to Midtown more than 10 times. The food is always great! The strip is one of the best steaks ever (other than my boyfriend's). The servers are good, some are top notch. However, it never fails that the hostess staff aren't dressed the part, offer little if any personality and seem overall uninterested in their role. It isn't enough to make me stop coming to Midtown, but is enough to note. The staff at the front counter represent their brand and don't do it well. Other that that - go try it! They also offer a strong brunch and on a sunny day, you can sit out on the patio and enjoy a mimosa or Bloody Mary while enjoying the amazing midtown yumminess."

  • "Service was great, inside of the restaurant is cute, but the food is just mediocre with a high price tag. We've had dinner at other places with about the same prices with better quality and taste."

  • "Great food, excellent service, upscale atmosphere, friendly. What else could you ask for?"
    Dined on 3/6/2014
  • "Presentation of the meal was almost as good as the meal itself. A great dinining experience! Great location to impress any guest! The food, service and location are tough to beat!"

  • "Very Very Very loud, and looks like you are dining with the people on the table next to you. Not good for a romantic evening if you like privacy. I hate with chefs name a dish just for the looks but not for the actual name and the contents of the dish, Example, head cheese appetizer, Was NOT!...."

  • "There are lots of restaurants to choose from in Raleigh, and every time we go here we are happy we did! Love how the menu changes and the Chef has new and interesting ways to entice you to try different things. I always order something different and it is always tasty. The service is great; servers are knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Always busy and a little noisy, but good to know that everyone is enjoying themselves."

  • "Whenever we dine at Midtown I forget about my daily stresses. The delicious food wonderful service and vibrant atmosphere make us feel like we are on vacation."

  • "Food was excellent; server was attentive and knowledgeable. Time for coffee, dessert, and check, took longer, compared to meal service."

  • "We have been to Midtown Grille a number of times and they have never failed to deliver excellent service as well as amazing food with very creative specials. Love this place!!"

  • "I had been here for dinner a couple times (love the duck breast) so tried it for lunch. I had french dip which they serve on focaccia bread, which was different but good and the roast beef was excellent. It does get a little noisy if you sit up front though."
    Dined on 2/18/2014
  • "I find the ambiance, location, service, food preparation and quality to be absolutely splendid. Accordingly, I'm very comfortable sharing the experience with friends and business associates alike."

  • "Nothing all that great about Midtown. Food was good but nothing outstanding. We went for brunch. Prices were good for a brunch. Wait staff was very professional and friendly. Hostess was borderline rude, just no personality. I would probably return, would like to try their lunch menu."

  • "I have eaten at Midtown Grill three times now and am still surprised at the excellence in food and service! I have never been disappointed! The food: I haven't tasted better food in the Raleigh area! Presentation is beautiful. The taste, exceptional. Recommended dishes: fried oysters with house made pickles & Tobasco aioli, pretzel gnocchi, beef short rib, beef & boar bolognese, octopus stew, pork chop with cumin scented lima beans and chorizo. The service: The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and courteous. The atmosphere: The atmosphere is refined. it is reminiscent of an old D.C. bar turned modern retaurant with its narrow, but long dining area."

  • "This restaurant had 4.5 stars so we gave it a shot. They were running 20 minutes behind so we had a drink at the bar. Starters risotto ...flavor great but not cooked thoroughly...shrimp was tasty and cooked perfectly. Duck breast flavor on point but a little cold Creme brulee was not set. All in all the meal tasted okay nothing memorable. But had a great time people.watching and talking to my husband. Flat meal but great service!"

  • "I eat here at least twice monthly for with Sunday brunch or dinner. Food is good, service is good, I usually take my kids is quick service is a must; sometimes it takes them a minute to seat you but overall they are good."

  • "My biggest complaint was that we had to wait precisely 38 minutes to be seated, even though we had a reservation! What is the point of a reservation if you have to wait? Food was very good, steak was not perfect but better than most. Duck was great, very tender Very loud, they could use further sound management. They also should redesign the entry to prevent drafting, the entire front half of the building is cold when the doors open. Request a seat at the back if you have a petite wife like mine."

  • "We had an 8:45p reservation but didn't get seated until after 9:15. And our food, which was over-salted (and one entree was luke-warm), wasn't served until 9:55. Our waitress did the best she could, but they clearly had more patrons than they could handle effectively. Very disappointing. We won't be back."

  • "We like going to various finer restaurants for a total dining experience. We arrived at the Midtown Grille, it seemed to be hopping. We had a reservation for 7:45PM and where told that it would be a 20 minute wait. The noise level was high and the place crowded. We waited about 15 minutes before we were sat at a bench/table. The wait staff were very attentive and the food was served in an acceptable amount of time. The good; wait staff were friendly and attentive, and the entrees, wines and deserts were good if overpriced. The bad: the place was a mixture sports bar with the space of a WW2 submarine and the table setup was slapdash. Not a place for an intimate get together - the total experience was crowded, rushed and loud."

  • "A Valentine's Day dinner is hardly a fair assessment, but our experience was very good. The bartender took a vague idea from my wife and crafted a good original cocktail for her, and my Manhattan was good as well. Our Mussels and Salads were fantastic, as were our entrees - the hanger steak for me, and the scallops for my wife. Our waiter was helpful and accommodating, and never rushed us on what I'm sure is the busiest night of the year. The real win, though, was the dessert - a chocolate peanut butter s'mores torte. We took ours to go, and let it come to room temperature at home with cocktails, and found it to be amazing. We'll definitely return, and look forward to sharing it with friends!"

  • "The tables are so close you fell like you're dining with the people at the next table. Getting in and out is like squeezing through a maze. It is loud and conversation at a normal level is almost impossible. The food is good but not as good as the prices would have you think."

  • "The scallops are usually fabulous at MidTown. The new recipe needs some adjusting, though. The mountain trout -- a dish to die for -- happened to be out."

  • "Midtown is a convenient, attractive and high-end lunch destination for those offsite meetings, from 2 to 20 people. The menu is enticing and seasonally changing. Their soups are always worth a taste. The staff is professional and allows you time and space for your business. For a well-located, sure- to-impress lunch spot, Midtown fits the bill."

  • "Lovely service and food. The lunch menu is fine, but it is dinner menu that shines. Soups are heavenly."

  • "Everything exceeded expectations. From start to finish it was simply excellent! The prime rib was a special, and so was the Black Garlic and Mushroom soup. Both were outstanding. The prime rib was cooked to perfection, and quite generous for any hearty appetite. We've got to return, and definitely not wait so long between visits."

  • "We really liked this restaurant. The service is excellent. Where we were sitting was a bit noisy. We sat by the computer where thewait staff had to be. We heard all the noise from the end of the bar. Other than that food was great. Would go back."

  • "Great spot for business lunch. The sound is loud enough to cloak your conversation in privacy, yet the pace and culture of the staff will never make you feel rushed. These qualities sit upon a solid menu of very good food and service. All in all one the one the BEST spots for business lunch in the mid-town area of Raleigh."
