This was our second visit to MIDEASTRO and we were not disappointed again. Food was outstanding, the wine excellent (and reasonably priced) and the service the difference! Will definitely come back enjoy another great meal. Thank-you,

Very quiet for a Saturday night. Service good food good, Time of appetizers arriving was prompt.Main dish adequate not memorable halibut Prices fair for a suburban restaurant . Time for dessert and coffee lagged in service time. Our first visit at the former Langstaff location was far more vibrant and lively. The Yorkville location was quiet and over priced.

Been there twice now with a Groupon. Service was outstanding both times. Food excellent, BUT don't go expecting another Thornhill Middle-East restaurant. This is NOT in the family of Me Va Me, Sofra Grill, etc... the menu is quite different. I grew to look it, but we were put off when we first got there as it seemed a bit "fancy" for us. Once we adjusted our expectations, it was great. I was really impressed by service and food presentation. They knew we were on a Groupon, but that did not affect service at all (I find sometimes it does.) Definitely recommended, just check the menu online first so you know what to expect.

We had the portobello mushroom with goat cheese salad and P.E.I mussels as appetizers. Both were delicious, the sauce from the mussels was fantastic and great to dip your bread in! I had the rainbow trout, which was nicely pan seared and was accompanied with grilled veggies and a bed of mashed potatoes infused with goat cheese. The fish was light and moist and everything else was well seasoned. My boyfriend had the steak, which was a tad overcooked due to the thinness of the cut. He was served with a new steak very promptly and it was juicy and delicious. I would definitely recommend trying out their menu. The staff were also great and very friendly, the manager in particular was great when learning about the overcooked steak.

The quality of the food was decent, and service was quick and efficient. However the menu selection appeared to be a limited, particularly the wine selection which was also a little over priced.

The food was very good - although the dessert list could be expanded a bit. The service was good - nicely paced, attention to detail, very pleasant. But in the back of the house, some details need to be reviewed: they only had olive bread, which is nice if you like olives (which neither of us did), and the tapanedes were really interesting...we needed bread. We asked for any other bread, but were told there wasn't any (they had run out). They should then have run out to the local grocery store and stocked up if their order hadn't come in. Likewise with the wine my friend ordered (just a Chardonnay). They'd run out. Again, there was a nearby liquor store that might have been an option. These are the little things that customers notice.

I have been to this restaurant three times now and have enjoyed each one. The service has always been a pleasure and the food delicious. They changed their menu this last time to add more variety and options to make it even more enjoyable. It has a simple yet cool decor, you won't even realize you are in the suburbs when dining.

When asked what type of water we preferred ... tap water or filtered, we were afraid to say filtered, lest we be charged extra for it. All in all Mideastro had that "nouvelle cuisine" feeling ... you know ... supersized bowls ... three asparagus spears. My salmon was tasty and just as ordered - unsalted - but the chef had been somewhat heavyhanded with salt on the risotto. When my friend asked for a java refill she was told that they don't give refills because the coffee was imported from Italy. Wha??? At that point we were dismayed and reluctant to order dessert. We slipped in next door to the frozen yogurt place where we knew the value was in keeping with the product. Mideastro - a nice-looking place but not worth a second visit.

Love the new location in Thornhill - much roomier and has cozier feel/decor. We had a wonderful time celebrating a birthday dinner just me and my hubby. The food was excellent and the service event better. Our waiter was very attentive to our needs, made great suggestions to help us choose our meal and had a great sense of humour. We had a wonderful experiment and will most likely go again with a group of friends.

We've been to Mideastro twice and we like the food on the menu and the service we got so when friends of our (couple) decided to have a get together, we suggested Mideastro. It was so convenient for both parties, the food was excellent, the ambiance great. Our friends was delighted by how good the food was. We were having an awesome time that the hours went by so quickly.

We went to this restaurant because it was handicapped accessible. The food was good, however the soup came warm, not hot and there wasn't enough of it. Everything else was fine except the service was a bit slow. Maybe it was because the restaurant is new but it does show promise. If we return it may not be for a while (until they get their act together).

Easy going personable service. My girl friend and I ordered 2 appetizers and split them. The wait staff was very observant and brought us 2 plates so that we could each share. My Rainbow Trout was moist, the best I ever had and wonderfully presented with baked in season local vegetables...not the usual run of mill stuff. The Trout was on a bed of Goat Cheese mashed potatoes..what a superb idea. The desserts were even more amazing. Wine list is short, reasonably priced and well chosen.

My wife and I (foodies) went last night with my parents (quick to complain seniors) and had a wonderful experience. From the moment we walked in, the service was attentive, informative, courteous, honest, and impeccable. The decor and ambiance were hip and had a 'downtown' feel, with background music that was lively without being loud and overbearing. Most important, the food was outstanding. A cross between middle eastern and Italian, all very fresh tasting and prepared with epicurean flair from the warm fresh bread and tapenade to the appetizers to the main course and incredible desserts. Everything was homemade. This place is a gem in Thornhill, and worth driving to if you're from anywhere else in the GTA.

They had a private party going on and told us at the start that they should not have taken our reservation - how did that happen? We were literally the only table not a apart of the party of 50 people so we felt a bit like sore thumbs. We had a fantastic meal and had great attentive service UNTIL the bill was requested! We had a party of five and needed the bill separated into 3 parts. You would have thought we asked for the waiter's first born! The fuss he put up was ridiculous and totally soured the evening. We dine out at least 6 times a week and this is not an unusual request. At the end of the day, the waiter refused to do it and asked us to figure it out ourselves. Completely classless and left a bad taste on my mouth.

Was thoroughly unimpressed with this first (and last) visit to Mideastro. First off, perhaps my fault for not realizing, but other than the Israeli salad (that has feta on it?) on the menu there is nothing middle eastern about the food they serve. Secondly, there was a complete lack of consistency. My mom and bro-in-law both had pasta, but my moms was pretty much double the size. I ordered a rack of lamb and had to send it back as it was a dry medium well instead of a juicy medium rare. Even when they did get it (almost) right the lamb was utterly flavourless. Even the meat itself didn't taste like lamb. Lastly, the server, while nice, was both forgetful and useless. Forgot to bring lemons that I asked for twice and never refilled my water.

Large restaurant situated in a nondescript Thornhill plaza. The frito misto, was a large appetizer although the breading came off most of the squid as it was heavy and did not adhere properly- it was served with a garlic aoli which was delicious. The other appetizer was a warm eggplant and tahini/goat cheese spread. Nice hot bread and three small spreads were also served. Mains were veal marsala, a tasty. generous portion served with asparagus & potatoes. The fish of the day was very good but should have been presented and then automatically whisked off to be boned and skinned, not left for the diner to do. One dessert was shared, a nutella ice cream- very decadent. Decent wine list. We were not hurried to leave which was nice.

Slow service The bar tender argued with me about how to make a "dry" martini after I sent two back . The third One was a "dirty" martini all you had to do was look at it , so cloudy and the waitress and bartender I watched as they both stuck their fingers in it in the bar area so i asked if something was floating in the drink to let them Know I saw. Our reservation was for 7:30. I never eat met past 8:30 . I would never had ordered lamb if I knew I was going to eat t 10:00. The waitress offered dessert on the house but we declined as it was time to get the her outta there Already The food itself was not bad 7 out of 10 but it just isn't worth going back .

Food had excellent taste, and presentation. We had appetizers that were big portion, and would have prefered paying a bit less than $12 each, and smaller size. For main, we had veal - fantastic. And the desserts were delightful. The wine was a bit pricey -$60 . The waiter knew the foods and wines intimately. We will definitely go back for a date night.
