Diner Reviews
  • "Mickey Mantle's went above and beyond to help us celebrate our anniversary. We frequent the restaurant often after a Thunder Game or for Happy Hour, but rarely for a sit down meal. Our server, Dylan, was fantastic and provided a relaxed atmosphere for the evening. In previous cases, the server has made the experience uncomfortable, or acted like we were an inconvenience, but this was not the case with Dylan. We received a special wine, dessert, $15 gift card and framed photo in celebration, and enjoyed a wonderful meal."

  • "When we first arrived hostess wished us anniversary , so did our waitress , we were given a desert to go complimentary . Our side dishes were a little late but was fine with us and the restaurant comped these . Manager apologized . The steaks we ordered were one of the finest steaks we have ate and I have eaten some really great steaks all over the USA. Overall We were really pleased and happy and our night felt special. Called and made reservations and we're put in glass room cutting down on noise and was very romantic and special. Will be back next year drove 3.5 hours for this anniversary weekend. We were even given a picture for our evening ."

  • "Our server, Joseph, was fabulous. He was very familiar with the menu and spoke intelligently about the food. My husband ordered the oysters for an appetizer and he said they were delicious. We split the chop salad and there was plenty to share and tasted wonderful We both ordered filets, my husband got the mesquite smoked and I got the pepper crusted. Mine was perfectly cooked but my husband’s steak was over done and when Joseph came by to check he immediately apologized and got him another one. It maybe took 7 or 8 minutes and the second one was perfectly done. We both agreed that the steak was very good but no great. We thought they lacked flavor and the pepper crust on my overpowered the flavor of the steak. The sides were excellent."

  • "Mickey Mantle's in Oklahoma City is a steakhouse. So it was really surprising to be served a medium done rib eye when I had ordered a medium rare. But give the server / barman his due, he checked the order, looked at the steak, and immediately took the whole dinner away. He handled the situation promptly and properly. The second attempt was perfect. And he offered a glass of port on the house at the end of the meal. So ... well done Mickey Mantle's."

  • "Both the food and service were phenomenal! I can't wait to go back!"

  • "Hey, you gotta go to a place named Mickey Mantle's, just to see #7's old uni, bats, autographed balls, and awards, right? But you can certainly find a better steak in a place like Oklahoma City. My NY Strip was OK, but not $48 OK. Maybe in NYC but not in OKC. The sides were good, but again, not $10 good. Do I critique the franks when I'm at the ballpark? Not really, I'm going for the game and atmosphere. So maybe I should go light on Mickey. But at these prices, I have to think I should be coming away feeling better about my meal."

  • "When we called to make a reservation we were asked to make note if it was a special occasion or if we had special requests. We told them it was our 43rd wedding anniversary. Other than the hostess wishing us a happy anniversary they did not do anything at all. This was disappointing."

  • "Did not know it when the reservation was made, but there is a glassed in area separating from the main dining room, that is mostly set up for 2's and 4's. Remarkably quiet even though filled with other diners. Excellent service, food, and selections. Recommended for special occasions."

  • "Mickey Mantles is the most consistent of OKC's steakhouses. The menu includes many non-red meat items, as well. The lump crap meat cocktail is fantastic --always so fresh ! The management is also so welcoming. Would highly recommend !"

  • "I was late for my reservations due to not being able to find parking. The staff was great holding my table for me. The server was good, but since we were so late, he came out and watched us on several occasions. One time, it was very notable that we were inconveniencing him by holding up his time to leave. He was noticeably staring at us. I know we were late, but it was beyond our control. Our ticket for 2 was $200. I just wish that we didn't feel rushed. The food was fantastic! The only complaint I had was feeling rushed."

  • "I hadn't been to Mickey Mantle's in several years and had been looking for a reason to go back. My wife and I went to dinner before the Michael Buble concert and the food at Mickey Mantle's did not disappoint. I got the filet and she got the seabass with lobster risotto. Both were great and we will definitely be back. The service was excellent. I asked what the difference in taste is between the regular filet and the mesquite smoked filet. He went in to a lot of detail. He was attentive without hovering."

  • "Best Alaskan Crab legs anywhere in OK. I was misquoted on the price for my dinner which was disappointing and my steak came out rare not Medium rare. But crab legs made up for everything. longest and thickest crab legs ever!!"

  • "Very nice dinner. Good cocktails and wine. Great service. The food was served quickly. Everything tasted great. We had steaks, the wonderful house potatoes, salads, and grilled asparagus."

  • "This was our 2nd visit. We love this restaurant. The service is impeccable. We had the filet and vegetables. You do not need a knife to cut the meat. It was cooked to perfection. The 9 layer cake is always our favorite. They even took the time to make a ribbon of chocolate that had Happy Anniversary written on it. We always have the crabcake as an appetizer . Doesn't get any better! We will go back. It will be our go to for special occasions!"

  • "We chose this restaurant as it was convenient to the Civic Center prior to a special event. The food was very good, but not spectacular. Unfortunately, the prices WERE spectacular - over $300 with tip for the four of us! $40 - $65 for a steak, with side dishes not included, was just too much. Additionally, the restaurant was quite dark, to the point that it was difficult to read the menu. I would not recommend this establishment for anything other than a very special occasion, with someone else paying!"

  • "I had the ribeye steak, lobster risotto and asparagus. The sides were ample enough to split between 3 people. My steak was wonderfully cooked (med rare), a bit closer to rare but that's ok by me. It was juicy and flavorful. My only complaint is that I do NOT need 18 oz of steak! In this day and age, focus on nutrition, eating healthy and healthy portions, I did not find that the menu supported a diner who wants to enjoy a good steak but have a reasonable size portion. I don't always want to be forced to choose the filet mignon because I want a right-size portion. 8-10 oz is perfect, especially when you are also enjoying rich sides. I don't want to feel overfull after a meal or be forced to be wasteful by leaving uneaten food."

  • "Had Dinner prior to a concert. The overall experience was good. My wife enjoyed the Sea Bass and it was outstanding. The service was a bit slow and at times non responsive. However, it was not terrible, it could use just a bit of improvement. Although Mickey Mantle's is a neat atmosphere it is not at the top of the list as far as fine dining goes in OKC."

  • "We enjoyed ourselves and the food was great. The wait staff was efficient and our server enthusiastically explained the menu and specials in great detail. The filet of a "Japanese cow" is astonishing. The Copper River salmon was the finest we've ever enjoyed. The plentifully portioned chopped salad was served with the perfect amount of dressing. We enjoyed the very warm bread throughout our meal. One loaf served the two of us very well. The staff was very courteous, and provided us with a photo memento of our evening. Our only disappointment was in the noise level in the dining area. We expected a less informal atmosphere."

  • "We celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary at Mickey Mantle's. The staff treated us with exceptional hospitality from the moment we checked in for our reservation. Our table had lovely flowers and was in a private booth as we had requested. Everything was perfect. The food was amazing - we have to mention the chocolate mocha dessert is a don't miss. Loved the souvenir picture we were given to remember it all. Highly recommend this fabulous restaurant!"

  • "I have eaten there several times and enjoyed it. This time, however, not so much. My son & I walked into the lobby and could hear the noise coming from the dining room. I thought maybe it was just echoing and really not that loud. I was wrong. We got to our table and while standing, just looked at each and made faces of shock at the noise level. It was so loud our waitress first moved from one end of the table to the other & then still had to bend down to talk to us so she could be heard. We actually had to yell at each other a little just to carry on a conversation. We are 52 & 16. We don't have a hearing problem. Steaks are fine. The sides good. The desserts great. But, not a place for a romantic dinner or to conduct business."
