Michaels RestaurantThe Honeybadger Cares !We accidentally showed up an hour before our reservation and were seated within 20 minutes on a very busy Friday night. The hostess, Kristi, was very friendly and professional. Our server, Nate, was very attentive without being intrusive and met all our needs quickly and effectively. The owner, Michael, came by our table midway through the entree course to be sure we were satisfied and was friendly without lingering. This is a great establishment that has obviously earned its reputation and is doing all the things necessary to make sure they maintain it. The Honeybadger cocktail was unique and delicious and if you enjoy beef, the veal chop was a symphony of taste and texture.6/7/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat SteakI took my mom to this restaurant for special occasion. She's not a steak person so ordered the snapper. The fish was excellent, but artichoke hearts had so much lemon it was inedible. The lighter portions are perfect as regular entrees are very generous. The cowboy steak was cooked to perfection. Don't miss their signature dessert which is the chocolate lava cake. It's not too sweet and served with vanilla ice cream. Parking is really tricky, but I lucked out and got a spot practically at front door. The grouper was the best I have ever eaten and the filet mignon with blue cheese was amazing. My husband had the strip steak which was recommended by the waiter and although it was good it was not a favorite. Service was wonderful and the restaurant itself is lovely. The chocolate volcano cake was delicious. Wine was excellent. One thing that was disappointing was that I had arranged in advance to have a dessert come out with a candle to celebrate my husband's birthday. Confirmed twice and they didn't bring anything out. We ordered 2 bone in strips, 2 filets and the signature veal dish. Everyone was very pleased. All the beef was cooked properly and very tasty. The veal dish was a real winner. If i went again i might have to go with the stuffed veal chop. Several ordered the "Our Salad" and loved it but it's not a salad for the light eater. It's like a meal itself. All of us definitely would recommend the resturant, especially if you can get a garden table on a pleasant night as we did. For years this place has been consistent in delivering a perfectly cooked delicious steak. Now you can get a bigger filet if you ask for it, and I did! As always, it was delicious. they allowed us to half the large wedge and the spinach salad. Both were delicious! Bread was hot and
very good. The girls shared an order of pasta that they loved. I had a fish dish which was so very good,
but the winner had to be the meat loaf. My husband raved and raved about it. For dessert, we all shared
the chocolate molten cake with ice cream which was fabulous. Truly a great meal in a pretty area and we

The wine list is extensive, the steak was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. My husband had the veal chop which was large and very flavorful. Another couple was enjoying their dessert of creme brûlée near us and seemed to be enjoying every bite, so we indulged in one between us and it was the best creme brûlée I have had in the Keys. Ambiance reflected fine dining but nothing spectacular. The server and table attendants were perfect. The food was great but one of the main reasons we went there was for the steak. I ordered med well and it came back med to med rare. We did call it to our servers attention and she offered to return it. But by that time i had already eaten 1/2 of it and did not want to wait. The only reason I was able to eat it was because it was very tender. Just a small error to keep me from rating the food perfect. The rest of our meal was very goof. We started with the Been Carpaccio-prime beef thin and flavorful. I had a scallops dish and my partner had the snapper meuniere. Both dishes cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I can't stress enough how wonderful and service was. Having been to Michaels two years ago we hoped that the restaurant would be as good as we remembered since our friends truly enjoy good food. Michaels completely met our expectations. We ordered the grouper and the red snapper. The grouper was beautifully prepared, cooked to perfection with a very nice sauce that was just enough to compliment the fish. My wife, who is very finicky about fish, said that the snapper was so good it could turn her into a fish lover. A good bottle of wine and the Key Lime Pie for dessert completed a very enjoyable evening of dining. the restaurant lottery! Everything from the hostess, bartender, the quality and presentation of the food was nothing less than perfect!!! I really appreciated the innovation of the menu as well-so hard to find. I live in Nantucket Island MA and have had a seafood business there for 34 years selling to all the restaurants there.
