The wine list is extensive, the steak was cooked to perfection and very flavorful. My husband had the veal chop which was large and very flavorful. Another couple was enjoying their dessert of creme brûlée near us and seemed to be enjoying every bite, so we indulged in one between us and it was the best creme brûlée I have had in the Keys. The service was attentive but not overly done, and friendly. Michael's was recommended so we decided to try it out for a special occasion. Ambiance reflected fine dining but nothing spectacular. The server and table attendants were perfect. The food was great but one of the main reasons we went there was for the steak. I ordered med well and it came back med to med rare. We did call it to our servers attention and she offered to return it. But by that time i had already eaten 1/2 of it and did not want to wait. The only reason I was able to eat it was because it was very tender. Just a small error to keep me from rating the food perfect. The rest of our meal was very goof. In fact, service was top notch: present but unobtrusive. Our server did forget a glass of wine for our party but he apologized promptly and comped us a dessert. The comp was unnecessary as we could see they were very busy and often, all one wants when something is forgotten is just an apology. We started with the Been Carpaccio-prime beef thin and flavorful. I had a scallops dish and my partner had the snapper meuniere. Both dishes cooked to perfection and full of flavor. I can't stress enough how wonderful and service was. always they have been warm and welcoming, reservations are always on time...drinks are great, and the food is always consistently wonderful...
I made the reservation a few weeks before coming down because it was my husbands birthday...our waiter, robert, had worked there forever as well, greeted us with a big hello, nice to see you back at michaels, and ...happy birthday Robert!

Having been to Michaels two years ago we hoped that the restaurant would be as good as we remembered since our friends truly enjoy good food. Michaels completely met our expectations. We ordered the grouper and the red snapper. The grouper was beautifully prepared, cooked to perfection with a very nice sauce that was just enough to compliment the fish. My wife, who is very finicky about fish, said that the snapper was so good it could turn her into a fish lover. A good bottle of wine and the Key Lime Pie for dessert completed a very enjoyable evening of dining. the restaurant lottery! Everything from the hostess, bartender, the quality and presentation of the food was nothing less than perfect!!! I really appreciated the innovation of the menu as well-so hard to find. I live in Nantucket Island MA and have had a seafood business there for 34 years selling to all the restaurants there. At first, I was worried when we were seated in a room somewhat separated from most of the other tables, but it was relaxed and comfortable, and we had lots of space. The food was excellent, especially the bread, and the steaks. The yellowtail was very good but a little soggy! The desserts were all fantastic, especially the key lime pie, and our waiter was very personable, although a bit chatty at times. The wine selection was also excellent. Our service was great, and both of our dinners were wonderful. Initially we were going to eat outside, but it was bit chilly. They were very accomodating and moved us inside.
