  • "Michael's proved its high ratings : the food was terrific, ambience lovely even the valet made sure our pet was well taken care of. Service was admirable until they were distracted by a large group. We seemed to be forgotten. We will be back to try out the rooftop and a new delightful meal"

  • "Michael's on Naples continues to match the hype that follows this restauranteur. Food quality is consistently excellent. The upstairs dining is a quasi outdoor experience. Quiet and romantic.. The pastas are fresh made daily. The entree's well seasoned and perfectly presented. Time and time again, the restaurant meets and exceeds your expectations. The wine list is varied and affordable as well."

  • "Four of us had dinner at MIchael's to celebrate two birthdays and the evening was lovely. Waiter was excellent as was the food. And they really did acknowledge the b'days - we'd ordered two desserts to share and they brought, in addition, two servings of the creamiest ice cream I have ever had, each with a candle. Most restaurants do not remember such requests. Thank you, MIchael's"

  • "Great food!! I enjoyed the restaurant for the first time with my gf, just a night on the town. Heard great things. I made reservations and got to eat on the second floor which I found a better ambiance due to the guitar playing and romantic setting!! The service and recommendations were great! My tastes buds were going insane!! I truly recommend it."

  • "Sweetest, most tender shrimp and pasta; lasagna verde was outstanding, crab and pasta dish superb. Began with antipasti platter..several cold cuts, olives, parmesan cheese cubes, grilled ciabatta toast. Our server Roberto was knowledgeable, helpful and very pleasant. Overall a memorable dining experience."

  • "We went to Michael's on Naples for the first time for Father's Day. We had a wonderful, memorable meal from start to finish. All the dishes were mouth-watering and innovative, and the staff was all extremely friendly and helpful. We have also really enjoyed Michael's in Downtown Long Beach for casual meals. This was a great choice for a special occasion."

  • "My husband & I received a gift certificate for Michael's and decided to use it to celebrate our 25th anniversary. For an appetizer, I ordered squash blossoms stuffed with ricotta... not something normally found in a restaurant, but served in nonna's kitchen when I was a child. The first bite, I almost swooned! The blossoms were crispy, not greasy, with the lightest ricotta imaginable. My husband had soft shell crab that was crisp and delicious. The rest of our meal was just as memorable, and we were delighted that food was served at a leisurely pace, so we could savor and enjoy. Our waiter was attentive, even bringing us a special ice cream treat, having heard us mention to the couple next to us that it was our anniversary. Lovely!"

  • "I have been to Michaels on weekends and the food has always been excellent. This was the first time on a Monday ( probably the last as well) I always order asparagus soup if it's on the menu, it's a favorite of mine, well they had it, so in addition to the chef tasting menu we had the soup, it was bland and didn't have much of an asparagus taste. The asparagus salad was tasty though, it was a nice flavor blend. The ravioli was chewy because it was over cooked. The diver scallop was excellent. The steak was okay. So it was a little hit and miss. The only reason I was asked for this review is because I used open table to book the reservation, my previous meals have been great but I didn't book them so I wasn't asked to review."

  • "Restaurant was amazing wonderful service food was very good. But not very happy with my seabass. Unless you like the way it was prepared. And the calamari was very average. "

  • "My first time at Michael's, we sat in the dining room and the food was good, the service was excellent, and we had a great time. They also have a really good wine list. But my second time was when I discovered their roof top area, which made me sooo happy! The rooftop is much more quiet and when in Naples, Long Beach, it's a must to have outdoor seating where you can get that ocean breeze. The food was excellent the second time and they do have happy hour drink specials. Definitely one of our neighborhood favs."

  • "I must say that every time I come to Michael's, and I've probably been around 15 times, I've always walked away thinking that I had a great experience. Chef David is excellent, Massimo is the ultimate gentleman, and Michael is the ultimate host. Everyone is gracious and appreciative, the food is wonderful, and the service is always among the best in the industry."

  • "Overall very good but not worth the price. Every person charged for water even those who did not drink (and had their glass removed from the table). The food was under seasoned and some of our dishes were chipped. As it got busier the service suffered. The bar menu looked good."

  • "My wife and I just celebrated our 20th anniversary at Michaels. We had the tasting menu with wine pairings - fantastic!!! But the star is the homemade pasta. We sat at the Chef's table and saw them rolling out the ravioli by hand...best ravioli this side of my mother-in-law Mamma Maria's!!! Would definitely go back ... but this time go for the Pasta tasting menu."

  • "The best Mother's Day brunch we've been to. Great price and selections. Even though they ran out of one item by the time we dined (around 2:00pm) but it was nice that it wasn't crazy busy at the time. Our server, Blake, was great, attentive but not overbearing, along with the other staff members who also helped out if he was busy. We've had dinner here before and always loved the food. It was nice to experience that patio, even though it was a bit hot in the sun part of the time. We will definitely go back. "

  • "I've been to Michael's before, and I always thought it was great, but I think they're getting better. We came early and sat at the bar before our reservation. The bartender was great. He recommended a couple of wines, let us taste them, and then pick the ones we wanted. We had a cheese appetizer, which was fantastic. In the dining room, we had king salmon, also very good. Basically, the food is very creative and yet not too creative that you don't want to eat it. I also had the best vanilla ice cream I've ever had. Our waiter was fantastic. Just enough attention so that our needs were met, but not too much that it seemed like he was trying to get us out of there. "

  • "I chose this place because my sister was visiting and staying in Long Beach. I live in the Inland Empire and I don't know restaurants in Long Beach. Chose Michael's solely based on location and reviews I read on Open Table. We got there 45 minutes before our reservation. No problem, we were seated immediately. We spent a leisurely evening at our table, but we never felt as though the staff was trying to rush us out the door, even though Michael's got quite busy as the evening wore on. We started with one of the raviolis, superb. The entrees were the divers scallops with English pea and mint risotto, the halibut, and the New York strip steak with potato gnocchi. All outstanding. Almond cake and a mousse. Both also outstanding. "

  • "I was looking at driving up to LA for a fancy night out but there were major accidents on the 405 so I started to look closer to home. Our evening at Michaels was WONDERFUL, the food and service can not be beat and we enjoyed the rooftop ambiance. Do plan to utilize the $4 valet parking as there is very limited street side parking available. Saw bar downstairs so we choose to go upstairs, only to find a bar and lounge area there also. However, it was quiet. The live easy jazz music was the perfect touch. We shared a beet salad, beautifully served already divided onto two plates (no plate charge) ; I had 3 HUGE scallops wrapped in speck and served over fresh pea and asparagus risotto, my honey gnocchi - not the best ever but yummy."

  • "We had an incredible evening. Food was greatly cooked, seasoned to perfection. I recommend the mussels and clams with tomatoe sauce. And don't miss the Tagliatta. Size of portions are perfect. Nice wine list with many Italian options at good prices"

  • "Booked because of the good write up here. Romantic and awesome service but actually thought food was average. Admittedly we didn't venture upstairs for fireplace/ patio which might have lifted our experience. But service, good and wine knowledge of waiter was excellent. Shame food didn't match."

  • "We've been going to Michael's for about 2 years now. But, it has been a few months since our last visit. It had always been one of our favorites in Naples, by far. Our food was a bummer, and we likely won't be back for a while. The risotto was bland and peas slightly undercooked to our taste. The branzino was tasteless and a little gelatinous, too. We really wanted to like our meal, but couldn't find much to like. Service was fine (although a little long-winded and dramatic on describing their personal favorites)."

  • "The duck neck ravioli appetizer is a favorite after trying it on the Chef's Tasting Menu the last time. My Zuppa de Pesci was delicious. Wife's lasagna was very good. Service was friendly and efficient. Valet park is a must on the crowded 2nd Street corridor."

  • "The experience wouldn't have been the same if it wasn't for Pete, the bartender. We ordered every recommendation he gave. Jeffrey was a bartender in training, and he was just as personable and fantastic. We had reservations for dinner, but loved the service at the bar so much, We stayed there for the rest of the night. Will be back soon:) "

  • "We live in northern California and make an effort to dine at Michael's when we are in the South Bay area. This was our third time dining at Michael's. Each time, the food and service has been very good. We recommend Michael's to any friends we know who are looking for a restaurant in the Long Beach area."

  • "Expect: -a 2 per person cake cutting fee if you bring cupcakes -not being seated if you wear baseball cap, but you can wear board shorts and t-shirt -the server may go into detail about the braised rabbit leg not being from a cute, small bunny, but a large vicious one. But the food was good "
