Food was pretty good, ambience was just OK. Very loud, obnoxious waiter at table next to us was really disruptive to our meal. Mushroom side was the worst I've ever had. For this price point, service should be more attentive...clean crumbs off table, being water more frequently without asking, etc.

We were two older women. Two different individuals at front desk pointedly ignored us to serve younger and male accompanied guests. When we did get attention, their smiles were conspicuously gone. Steak and wine both excellent but creamed spinach and and sauteed mushroom sides not even palatable. Table server gracious and competent. Comfortable chairs and lovely table service but bar music made the room too noisy for normal conversation. Expensive and will not go again.

Every experience I have had at Michael's has been A-One. Maggie certainly is a wonderful part of a very friendly and warm experience. My husband and I especially enjoy the Epicurean experiences. Food is wonderful, as well as, the service and ambiance. Our server on August 13 for lunch was wonderful serving my girlfriends for a birthday celebration. I am sorry that I cannot remember her name. She deserves recognition as she has taken good care of us many times in the past.

Our service started out very poor but picked up as the evening went on. It seemed to take forever between courses and we ended up being the last table in the dining room. As expensive as this restaurant is you would think $6 for a baked potatoe would yield something bigger than my fist and hope that it was still hot when you received it. I was very disappointed actually because it is a place my son and his daughters were begging to go back to on their visit to see us and it is not in close proximity to where we live. I doubt that I would go back there again. With a $500 check for 5 people 2 of which are 10 & 15 you would expect exceptional service and outstanding food.

We had not been to Michael's on East for some time and thoroughly enjoyed the evening from the piano bar to the food and ambiance. The dinner was excellent and plentiful and the creme brûlée was outstanding. We dined early and perhaps it was quiet as it was just starting to fill up but even when most of the tables were filled it was still just soft sounds. We are not fond of high end restaurants sounding like a party scene.

We arrived early and enjoyed happy hour at the bar. When seated, the waiter introduced himself and said he understood that my special request was to have a buttery chardonnay. He had already selected one that he and his wife liked. It was perfect. We had the twin Maine lobsters and they were delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant for any occasion.

We had reserv. for 5:45pm, restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived. We were seated at a small table for two even though there were plenty of empty tables that were larger available. During the next hour several couples, probably 6, came in and were seated at tables for four even though there were smaller tables available. The table was so crowded it was scary just trying to pick up and put down your wine glass. Another issue was the low chairs at all the tables, I felt like I was in a child's chair and I'm only 5'11". Noise level by the time we left was unbearable. Our bill was $309 without the tip! Expected a better experience for that kind of $$$.

Everything was terrific, starting with the tomato bisque soup. The extensive wine list was on an I- pad which gave us a lot of information to choose from. (We chose a cab/merlot blend from South Africa). The seafood entrée were cooked to perfection. The server was knowledgeable while being attentive. The dessert was outstanding-chocolate of course.

Eating at Michael's was a challenge! It is not a location to enjoy conversation with friends. The noise level is way too high. The singer at the piano was trying too hard to be a Las Vegas act. it's unfortunate because the food was very good.

Starting out with no-charge, valet parking and a friendly "hello" at the MaitreD's desk sets the right tone for dinner. I always start with the wine list and then build my meal around it. There, on the 3rd page was my most favorite white wine. Unfortunately there were only 2 bottles and by the time mine was located, the other bottle was history also. Mussels as a split appetizer.....lots of garlic in a lobster butter sauce......can't wait to do that again with NO sharing, A chopped salad that was very ordinary....will not order that again Entrée was 2 large pieces of Pompano. Lightly breaded and cooked rapidly over high heat in butter....makes me hungry to remember. The chocolate brownie was sinful....ask for "extra drizzle"

Michael's does have a lovely supper club atmosphere, but it can get noisy near the bar. We were seated in the separate dining area; very nice. Apps of oysters (good) and carpaccio (rolled w/parmesan; not our favorite. couldn't taste the meat over the cheese). My partner's entree of snapper, the fish of the day, was absolutely delicious, but my pesto rigatoni was a bit too al dente and the sauce was mushy and not very flavorful. Our wait person, when I asked about the properties of a wine, said 'it's good!' Oh, no. Not the response I expected in a place with such an extensive and interesting wine list. All in all, a good meal; not great.

Our table was in a private corner; the food was excellent and a complementary dessert was given to us to celebrate the occasion. We definitely will be back and will also recommend to our friends and family. We also enjoyed listening to the live piano music as we dined. New to Sarasota, we tried this restaurant during Savor Sarasota week, which was a discounted three-course meal. There was nothing discounted about the experience. Food, portions, presentation, service were all top notch. We definitely would return to try their regular menu. But, for the thrifty, Michael's on East offers what they call a epicurean adventure or something like that. A three-course menu for about $35 that changes monthly. We went back to try the New Orleans menu and were very pleased. You even get a wine pairing for a very reasonable cost. A quality place.

Looked forward to this for sometime, but was disappointed. The lobster meat did not pull away from the shell like it should. I think the lobsters were left over from the previous Friday. The mussels and clams were dry. Server and service was great. Don't remember assist waiters from previous visit, but the were very accomplished and helped to keep thing moving.
