The food was awesome, but the added special touches were what made the experience so special. They started our evening with complimentary champagne, in honor of our anniversary. The meal service was impeccable, and before the regular dessert was served, we were brought a special dessert, with Happy Anniversary written in chocolate on the plate. I was skeptical that it could be replicated in Vegas. I was wrong. It's just as great and the Bellagio is a perfectly classy hotel to house this version of Michael Mina. We spent a fortune, but it was worth every penny. Highlights were the foie gras, caviar and the dessert wine they recommended for the foie gras. I can't remember the name of the wine, but it was some weather thing that happened in France in 1983 that made it insanely good. I love a great steak and not only was mine prepared Exactly as ordered (medium +) but was super tastes. The desserts were unique and delicious too.

Dining at Michael Mina provided one good dish after another, and I can't say enough about the service, ambience and delicious tasting menu - I had the tuna tartar (didn't even need the toast), risotto, scallop (if every scallop I ate was like this scallop, then I'd actually LIKE scallops), and domestic wagyu (cheek and ribeye) with a trio of desserts which included the rootbeer float. I also sampled other dishes from my dining companions' plates - the veal with morels and swiss chard was outstanding, and the the lobster pot pie broth was so good (they should just serve the broth without the lobster).5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMFriday Night at Michael Mina'sWe had the 5 course tasting menu with wine pairing. The food was outstanding and the service was excellent. The only hiccup was that they were behind on a busy Friday night. We were seated about 40 minutes after our 8:15 dinner reservation. We were seated at the back of the restaurant, which seemed quieter than the room in the front. Our waiter told me that about 40% of their guests choose the tasting menu. Major negative is the 3.5 times increase of wine which then you have to pay sales tax on. I had the Vegetarian Tasting Menu, the standout dishes for me were the cauliflower soup and the fennel tortellini with citrus brown butter sauce - the flavours were perfectly well balanced and I was left wanting more.
The root beer float was my favourite of the 3 desserts. The panna cotta was my least favourite as it was a little to sweet for me, but it was still enjoyable.
The service was great, very attentive, friendly and helpful. I was dining alone and little concerned I might feel awkward, but I needn't have worried. I frequent the San Francisco location, but this was my third time to this particular Michael Mina. I was served by the same sommeiler and the waiter as last year. They were still down to earth, friendly, & professional. Not too common at your high end restaurant where you can feel a bit of arrogance & pretentiousness from the staff.
Had the five course tasting menu. Tuna tartar, lobster pot pie (Concoction of vegetables & lobster infused in rich bisk), scallop, steak skirt (one of the most flavorful, tender and juicy you'll ever find in Vegas), and collage of three Michael Mina signature desserts which creates a masterpiece in your taste buds. We were very warmly welcomed to a nice table in the centre and the service throughout the meal was attentive and helpful. The food experience was extremely rewarding, beautifully presented and executed. The dishes we chose were the sampler tasting appetizer all of which were delightful.We then chose the sole with topping crust and the lobster pot. The latter was served at the table in a flurry of delivery and was as delicious as the sole. The taster dessert plate was as magnificent as the others before. Not to forget the lovely bellini and cucumber vodka cocktails ! This was our first time dining at Michael Mina in Las Vegas, and it was a most wonderful and memorable evening. Located off the beautiful atrium of the Bellagio hotel, we stepped into the restaurant and were greeted by a chic bar with friendly, helpful staff. All the staff is to be commended on the personal care and attention we received, during a very busy evening. Especially memorable was the outstanding service from the Master Sommelier, Joseph Phillips. From our first experience at the bar throughout our entire dinner, he shared with us helpful information and offered a great selection of spirits and wine.
