Diner Reviews
  • "Beautiful presentation of both food and drink. We ordered lots of small plates, most were delicious. Not cheap but definitely a fun place to visit."

  • "The food portion were a joke for the prices. Food was just ok good but service was great."

  • "We had a great meal here. It is located in the lower level of the Fountainbleu hotel in a dark, intimate space. We had the snapper and the black cod dishes and both were outstanding. Lovingly prepared fish in Asian inspired sauces worked perfectly. The sushi appetizer was also outstanding. The bartenders really know how to mix flavorful drinks.."

  • "Read mixed reviews before booking here but figured it couldn't be to bad it's the Fontainebleau. We were seated as soon as we arrived to a great window table looking out at the pool area it was very cosy and dj was playing great music the whole time which made the night even better. The music was not over powering at all and thought it just added to the atmosphere. Our waitress explained all the dish so well and kept checking on us. Food was great and so was dessert . Would definitely come back next time I'm in Miami and make sure you get a drink in the hotel lobby bar it's very fun!"

  • "Too noisy, dark and service was awful Food is average However the steak was great that was only thing we liked"
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Expected much more from Mina. Nothing unusual about the specials, run of the mill. Would not return."
    Dined on 4/5/2014
  • "Good, but, not great food...The service suffers hugely when the place gets busy...Go early!!!"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "After meeting a few celebs at this hotspot our meal was outstanding and memorable! Would definitely recommend this place for it's laid back atmosphere and excellent menu. Will be back again one day!"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Went here for girls night in a group of 6. Great atmosphere and there is a DJ starting at 10:30 which makes it very loungey and super fun! All of the food was amazing - especially the tuna tartar. Great place to order "family style" and share. The only reason I am giving the service 4 stars is that on 2 occasions we waited almost 20 minutes for our round of drinks to be brought to the table. Oh and the sauce served with the beignets is to die for!"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "They should put up glass behind the tables close to the bar and or behind booths. Way too much noise for such a beautiful place. We have been there twice and will go back again, we simply must go early to request a table further away. Made it a bit hard to enjoy my companion and to talk ..—something that we value most when we go out"
    Dined on 3/22/2014
  • "Everything was great! Food, service and atmosphere. Celebrated my birthday and they made it very nice and special. We will def. return. We always goto all the new Miami places, and this was one of the best in all categories so far."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "We're always looking for a restaurant that understands the importance of lighting--if I wanted to eat in the glare of bright lights I would go to a diner. Mina's had great ambience! The snapper was exceptional in a delicious broth. The staff were attentive and friendly. Great experience."
    Dined on 3/16/2014
  • "The beignets were delicious and I would go back again just for them and the atmosphere. We weren't so impressed with our entrees, however, we had a nice time and service was perfect."
    Dined on 3/17/2014
  • "Food was exceptional, as was service. Beautiful restaurant. John Riccardo makes sure every detail is attended to."
    Dined on 3/15/2014
  • "When we recently dined at Michael Mina's we found the food to be extra salty to the pont the food was not enjoyable to eat. When we told our server she just shrugged. She didn't apologize or call over a manager. She didn't offer another dish or throw in a free dessert or drink. Customer service goes a long way. It also makes you want to return to a restaurant again. Considering the resturant was half empty, I would think they would be trying a little harder. I loved the resturant last time I ate here. Not so much this time."
    Dined on 3/17/2014
  • "Even for the FB hotel, the food and especially the wine list was way over-priced. $28 burger, $7coffee, and $18 for a small pour cheap chardonnay. Prob great for before or after LIV, but not a destination rest with all the great rest in miami. A more approachable wine list and reasonable priced menu would be a home run in this location."

  • "Better than what we expected. The service, the food, everything was perfect."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "Michael Mina's was a beautiful restaurant and had an overall nice ambience. My first experience here was good, the food was good too, but the service was very poor once it started to get crowded."
    Dined on 3/8/2014
  • "After an initial friendly greeting the attitude of the hostess went quickly downhill after asking for a better located table in the relatively empty dining room. She was like a moody teenager. The waitress was very nice-informative and educating but then caused us to wait over 20 minutes after we asked for the check. Food was very good and the varied menu offered something for everyone."
    Dined on 3/7/2014
  • "It was simply just fair. Doesn't stand out in any way."
    Dined on 3/1/2014
  • "Food was good but there must have been some sort of service issue. Menus were delayed, dishes that were ordered weren't brought out and the server was totally missing in action after taking our orders. When the manager, Brittaney, came over after dinner to see how the meal was I surprised her as well as myself. I've never voiced a complaint before in a restaurant but I told Brittany how disappointed we were. She went into action and did everything to make us happy. She is a professional. Hopefully things can be corrected for future guests."

  • "Fontainebleau prices but not quality. Very disappointed, save your money and go to Scarpetta or Hakkusan,"
    Dined on 2/23/2014
  • "Had a totally unacceptable experience at this restaurant. Even though i had a reservation, I was kept waiting for table for over a half hour and ended up getting seated at a booth that had been vacant the entire time. In addition to the waitress being distracted and a bit surly, the food was subpar. The appetizers had a gritty, over-fried taste. Couldn't discern any other ingredients in the mix of offerings. Management was also unresponsive, when the lapses were brought to their attention. With all the outstanding restaurants in the South Beach area, including several great places in the Fontainebleau itself, I would pass on Michael Mina 74."

  • "The food is excellent, the staff is superb. Mina's take on American cuisine is well-rounded and has some outstanding features. The most noteworthy is the tuna tartare. Prepared tableside complete with a quail egg, capers and spices, it is just like being at Brasserie Lipp in Paris getting thier famous beef tartare. Exceptional also is the Caja China, pork three ways. The staff went out of their way to source a cheese plate (not on the menu) for us to finish our red wines. Perhaps it will appear on the menu soon?"

  • "My wife and I were in Miami during February break. A busy week in town with the boat show and the food and wine festival. We are used to the high season treatment, high prices and impatient service. Not the case at Michael Mina. The bartenders were sweet and accommodating. Our server was young and a bit inexperienced but her recommendations were spot on. The sommelier came to the table and offered us a great bottle off the menu and even told us the price in advance. The food was outstanding. The best we have had in Miami on this or any trip. A great experience, we would highly recommend Michael Mina 74."

  • "Every aspect of the meal was superb. The Menu, though small, was a gem. Food was flawlessly and imaginatively prepared. The entire evening was enhanced by incredible service. This is definitely a restaurant to visit when you want a treat."

  • "One of the best meals I have ever had. The atmosphere was sexy. The service was great. We ordered a few appetizers and they were fabulous. I had the Waygu filet with truffle risotto as my entree and it was to die for. The best meal I have ever had. I had the brussel spouts as a side and they had a different twist to them and were amazing. I will def be going back next time I am in town. Oh, and Steve Aoki was next to us so that helped make things a bit exciting!"

  • "First time and we loved everything about the evening! Chef Danny made some extraordinary food. Everything from the apps to dessert was great! The service was top notch too. Thank you for a wonderful evening."

  • "Food was just not that good, especially considering the price you are paying. Very disappointed."

  • "I recently went to Mina 74 as part of a dinner & show to see Blondie ... If you want to look at sexy young girls in short dresses then definetly go there. However if fine dining is what your after then I would pass! The attitude of the staff is very snobbish & the portions are minute... The overall food quality is good but give me a break & just say the entree is half size & order double... I would be ashamed to serve that to my customers. This place is a major MB Rip off !!! Never will return or recomendations to anyone!"

  • "Not worth dining here. Very disappointed, food was fair, menu very limited, no ambiance, No decor and service was poor (had to wait 15 min & no one came to the table with menus until my husband went to see the manager). It was Valentine Day and the place had no decor, tables no tablecloths (looked like a table at a dinner)."

  • "We had seen the reviews in Opentable and some were not great so we were somewhat concerned. After visting Mina 74 we were happy that we didnt take those comments very seriously. The food was amazing ! We went with a group of friends and every plate we order was incredible. The flavours and combination of ingredients used are only the result of a mastered chef like Micheal Mina. The ambiance was also very nice and trendy without being overly intimidating .the overall value for the food was also great ! We would definetly recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to enjoy good food in a trendy enviorment."

  • "I had an amazing chicken dinner, followed up by a wonderful dessert. I really enjoyed eating here, I would definitely eat there again if I was at the hotel."

  • "Our party enjoyed this MM rest. much less than others. (1) Ambience - very loud & objectionable overhead music (2) Drinks - excellent quality but truly a one-half sized drink -- the drink size (@ $14-16 per) is totally inadequate (3) hot olive bread - excellent (4) $24 appetizers of: lobster pasta & of mushroom tarte -- both good, but not great, & I wouldn't order either again (5) Black cod was excellent w/ "unwieldy" udon noodles were difficult to eat; potato-crusted pompano was very tasty but over-sauced w/ romesco (would have been better sticking w/ seasonings & brown butter on the plate (6) fudgy chocolate cake w/ peanut butter ice cream & malted milk puree was excellent and satisfied 4 people. Overall, too many drwabacks here."

  • "Super food, waiter was excellent, and the place is hip and creative. Two minor issues: sommelier disappeared and never came back after the first taste (had to ask a server to pour the champagne) and dirty dishes sat too long (bus staff needs additional training). Overall, a cool place for an expensive but tasty meal."

  • "When you travel with your company, you need to find places to go. Since I was in town for a convention, I made use of Open Table to book a table here. The hostess that led us to our table made me wish that I was in my 20's but I digress.... The food was very good. Portions were as expected so do not go when you are starving. Not a complaint as it was still good. The short ribs were tasty. The Cesar salad was a different take on the standard. Personally, I am not a fan of the romaine hearts but it was enjoyed by my colleague. The dessert was outstanding. BEIGNETS with macallan 18, butterscotch, caramel. WOW! Good place but there should be a better location for this place."

  • "I don't know what other reviewers were talking about as far as decor. It was fine. It was dark since it's downstairs and they keep the windows covered but that wasn't a negative for us. The music wasn't soft but it wasn't obtrusive so that wasn't a negative either. The food was very good and the only drawback to the service was that our server was very soft-spoken and it was difficult to hear her."

  • "I cannot say enough about this place. I got the short ribs with pomegranate cous cous. The meat was so tender, no knife needed. This food was so delicious and the quality was high. Even the drinks were creative. I got a drink called the Magic City Very very good... This is a favorite of mine. Not one thing can I complain about. Even the manager came to the table to make sure we were happy The server never interrupted , would be close by waiting for the time to step up. I love that, as one of my pet peeves is that a server comes to the table with no manners"
