Diner Reviews
  • "I was absolutely blown away by this restaurant. The drinks we fabulous! I came with a group of 18 girls and every single person said they loved their meal, drink and experience. The scallops are to die for, the salad was amazing and the tuna poppers we on point.... Needless to say, I'll be back"

  • "The restaurant has excellent service, but for what I received to me was overpriced. I ordered a appetizer which was the size of a eggroll and it was $24 and I did not like. The entrees were delicious and if you want to try new things this is the place to go. However for my pallete I probably would go to the other restaurants on the property that all were spectacular. Also no free refills..."

  • "Food was SOLID. Best Filet, I have ever had, Fries were awesome. When your paying those kind of prices, everything needs to be good though, not just the food. Low Ceiling and dark, not the most beautiful dining area, so they really need to have TOP service to justify the price. IF they improve it, I would come back for sure."

  • "The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly. One of the managers, Brittany took care of us and was very professional !!"

  • "I went here on a recommendation from a friend and was disappointed. While the food was good and creative...there was nothing outstanding except the bananas Foster bread pudding. The Tim we chose from the cart was the worst of the offerings. Some kind of crab spring roll but we were hard pressed to taste or see any crab. Pigs ears appetizer was too hard to eat...may have caused dental problems. Entrees were some better. I chose the lobster pot pie on a friends recommendation but the crust was sadly soggy and the potatoes were undercooked and the few bites of lobster seemed embarrassed...for $24 I expected more. Sea bass and wagyu beef were much better."

  • "I didn't like the decor of this place, it looks dark and old. But food was really good."

  • "The food was wonderful..loved everything...the service was excellent"

  • "Great service and fabulous food, pared with a hip and fun scene, that is some of the things I like from the Fontainebleau and Michael Mina 74 is no exception. The menu looks short but its fine if you add into the equation the 3 carts that offer different items and enrich the experience of small plates dinner. My favorites where the Lamb meat balls and the Lamb chops, you can see that the chef takes care on selecting his products the meat quality is fantastic!! and cooked to perfection. The duck confitte was also a table favorite and my son loved the fries and pork belly with grilled peach."

  • "The scallops, while fairly tender, had a burnt taste. Asian salad had a lot of iceberg lettuce."

  • "Was worried when we went through menu as no real rhythm or style, all over the map. However, all the food was amazing"

  • "Relaxed setting in an amazing, historic icon of a hotel. The menu makes it easy to choose wonderful combinations over and over again (prepare to go more than once!) Sharing is easy but it is not "tapas". Service is great and you don't find yourself waiting ages to get it."

  • "We had a great experience at Michael Mina 74. I only wish I hadn't waited so long to try it out. I had looked at making a reservation many times, but I thought it might be expensive for our normal Fri/Sat night out, but it turned out no more expensive than our normal dinners out. AMAZING food - good menu but also had a great cart service with some additional appetizers that were delicious. Great wine. Good ambiance. And, of course, fun people watching at the Fontainebleau. Be prepared - you may fill up on all the tasty appetizers/shared plates and need to take most of your main meal home as leftovers! We're excited to go back and try even more of their tasty offerings."

  • "Just overpriced hotel food under a fancy name. Definitely nothing special"

  • "I went here after dining at Mina's restaurants elsewhere and expected the same high quality food. What I experienced was good but not great food. For the prices you might expect the food quality to be much higher. With the exception of the salmon burger I was quite underwhelmed. Not only that but the service was lackluster. No energy. Lack of food knowledge. I Won't be coming back here."

  • "Nice but expensive for the kinds of food being served"

  • "This was one of my favorite restaurants. I was looking forward to another great meal but they changed the concept and the menu. My favorite dishes are gone. My husband's favorite dish is gone also. We both tried new items and were underwhelmed. The service is still great but unless they bring back the old menu, we will not be back."

  • "We came for dinner one night while guests at Fontainebleau. We tried two different burgers, the lobster mac & cheese, and a couple cocktails. All the food and drinks were great, but it was overpriced for what it was and it was oddly quiet and empty inside for 8:30pm on a Thursday night. The service was very friendly and responsive. We enjoyed the experience, but weren't blown away by it. Worth trying if you're okay with overpaying and it's convenient."

  • "The experience was confusing. It was expensive for small portions. The burgers look normal size and good. Our experience was less than worth $200."

  • "This place has great food, but has some major areas to improve upon. 1.) Finish the space, it still feels like a club 2.) Figure out who you want to be. The menu is all over the place. 3.) Ambience is weird. Bachlorette parties, date nighters, families with kids (which I have nothing against) and vacationers still in their pool attire. Time to enforce a dress code. 4.) Carts with the food are gross. No one wants to eat food that has been sitting out being passed around, EW. In short, we won't be back again, the super nice staff alone can't save this place :( Sorry. It needs a total menu overhaul and some ambiance improvement. Best of luck."

  • "The service was good, but the food was just ok. All food came out at once it was very annoying when you are trying to enjoy a group dinner."

  • "The restaurant is pretty dark, it was ok overall. The food was hit or miss...tuna tartar was good, Cod not so much with overwhelming sauce."

  • "My fiance and I celebrated our engagement at Michael Mina and we had an wonderful dinner. The atmosphere was very romantic and the food was delicious. The menu is so diverse and there really is something for everyone. The cocktails were also very good. We would highly recommend this restaurant. "

  • "I went to dinner here with my daughter while staying at the Fontainebleu. The food was okay nothing special. The service was good. But it was very irritating to get a bill where each refill of my daughter's soda was charged at $5 each. Charging $5 for each refill really? I guess I should have asked if they were free but I can't remember ever being charged anywhere else for refills."

  • "the food was good, but seriously overpriced for what they deliver. much better to spend your money at hakassan or scarpetta in the FB."

  • "My wife and I stayed at the Fontainebleau last weekend and ate at Michael Mina 74 one evening. This meal was, by far, the best we had all weekend. The hamburger was the best I have ever eaten!"

  • "Many aspire to this level of excellence but Michael Mina delivers. This place is a lot of fun."

  • "After hitting a couple of Mina's restaurants in California we decided to try them on the East coast. 74 has great food and is set within one of the nicest hotels in Miami Beach. This one is a bit more casual than the others we've been to. We stuck to the Mina dishes-not that we have anything against the resident chef, just that every time we try one we are blown away. Lobster corndogs and duo of Hamachi were exceptional."

  • "I did not know what to expect. Or rather I thought of little tables with white tableclothes. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but something different is a welcome change. This place is very relaxed, cosy and has a bit of a pub atmosphere. Although the place is a bit dark, the general feeling is quite nice. In addition, the food is excellent. Good seafood, very nice service. Would gladly go back."

  • "The food was excellent. Missed out on the seafood cart, our server didn't bring it over. Burger month, so had burgers for dinner came with fries. Everything was fresh, cooked perfectly. Atmosphere of restaurant was so neat and exciting. Bread was best I've had. "

  • "By far, the worst dining experience my wife and I have had since moving to Miami three years ago. The service was good, the food was egh... The ambiance was horrible. Great sales gimmick though, having the hostesses desk in the lobby upstairs, with a beautifully appointed wall mural with the name of the restaurant behind and stairs leading down to what one expects to be a memorable dining experience. Not so much, unfortunatelly. Picture your run of the mill Flanigan's, multiple the price list by 5, and shove the concoction in the dark, low sealing, cramped, decrepit basement of the Fontainebleau, and you will get a clear picture of what Michael Mina 74 is all about. It is a crying shame of a haute dining establishment wannabe..."

  • "I made a reservation for 14 & was given a table in a private section of the restaurant that was great. The food was overall very good. We were all pleased with what we ordered & the service was remarkably good. "

  • "The food was outstanding. Wine list was excellent but overpriced. Server seemed completely bored and we felt like it pained him every time we asked him for something. When we're being charged exhorbatant prices for this experience we expect the service to go above and beyond. When we have to ask to have our dinner plates cleared or even a dessert menu, something is amiss."

  • "Good restaurant, but expensive for the size of the dishes"

  • "Location: at the old Arcadia space. Seems like some of the piping and lights were kept there for some reason. Decor: created no vibe. We sat next to the window area near the emergency exit and what seemed to be the old DJ box area. Little money was spent to re do this space in my opinion. Valet: $25, but $12 with validation. Would be nice if waitstaff or hostess asks to stamp. We forgot and valet told us to walk all the way back. Have u been to the FB before? It'll cost u less to pay then waste the time. Food: tenderloin was seasoned to perfection. Tuna tartar was bland for their signature dish. Wine: great chianti wine but overall prices for the wine were high with other fine dining restaurants. Staff: friendly, and attentive. "

  • "I thought this place was going to be cool, great energy and ambiance. Unfortunately it is nothing more than an expensive family restaurant with a DJ. Service was good I will say that. Food was fine but considering the price I would go elsewhere. "

  • "The octopus was good but they put too many potatoes in the plate. Tuna tartare excellent. The rest of the food was good. I ordered a mojito with "guarapo" they charged me $16. Regular mojito $13."

  • "Michael Mina 74 was SO disappointing! It has mixed, but mostly decent reviews on Open Table. My boyfriend and I went for an early (7pm) dinner while away for the weekend. There were not many people there, even as it got later, there were tons of empty seats. Also, for how few tables they had occupied, the service was TERRIBLE! It was so slow and not attentive. The servers were all nice/pleasant but just not with it. Maybe it is because we are used to Manhattan pace and style but this place was so bad, just so bad. The food wasn't awful but it wasn't good either. I mean just so disappointing. You'd think because it's in a really famous, busy hotel that it would be great, well, that is not the case. Overall, bad service and bad food. "

  • "Michael Mina's was a very nice dining experience if there had not been so many screaming kids the night we were there. The food was very good- very nicely presented. I guess the evening was overshadowed by the fact that there were several table with unruley children who were loud and out of control. One father was also constantly taking photos of his chilren with a flash that was very distracting. "
