  • "Our waiter was perhaps one of the very best waiters I've ever had. He was extremely knowledgeable not only about the food but also about wine and cocktail choices. We had 6 adults in our party--3 of which would describe themselves as "foodies". The 3 who ordered the chef's special of lamb (I think?) were not overly impressed. In fact, their exact words were "we were over-sold." It was good--they enjoyed it; but they didn't feel like the taste lived up to the impressive description. The other 3 of us were highly impressed with our pasta dishes and we would all order the same thing again. A wonderful night with wonderful service!"

And to top it off...the following day the manager called to say that while checking tickets from the night before, he noticed an error on ours. We had been overcharged and he called to inform us that there would be a credit applied to our account. Sweet! Thanks for !the honesty"

My chicken was cooked perfectly and the dessert with ice cream and espresso was amazing! We will definitely return when we are in Hilton Head."

  • "My wife and I celebrated our 46th anniversary at Michael Anthony's and our experience was wonderful. Our waiter, Finnie, was superb and very attentive. Tony, the owner came to our table several times to congratulate us. On arrival, we were greeted with congratulations also. We were given complimentary champagne as well as limon cellos. The entree' was fabulous. Dessert was exceptional. The entire experience was great. This restaurant is our favorite in Hilton Head."

  • "This was our first night in Hilton Head and couldn't have been more pleased with the restaurant. Waiter was very knowledgable about the menu and wine. Food was very good along with the ambiance. Owner stopped over to introduce himself which I personally found endearing and pushed our experience even more over the top of pleased."

  • "We were seated in a nearly empty DR at 6:30pm on a Sat Night and I knew something was a miss. I ordered a bottle of wine but the waiter never brought it over until after I had to remind him and after I already received a salad app. My daughter has soy allergies so she asked if "homemade" tomato sauce had soy in it and lo and behold the chef said it did. Really? What "fresh" sauce has soy in it? The pasta bolognese was good not great. My salmon with Romesco sauce was dry. My wife's veal involtini was stuffed with dry italian sausage and no flavor. Tomato sauce on dish tasted NOT FRESH NOR HOMEMADE. The waiter overcharged for a plain bowl of pasta which was corrected after inquiry. All in all. Nothing special except overpriced."

The Caesar Salads were excellent. The wine list was extensive but light on California wines. Located in a strip mall a few blocks off of Pope near the traffic circle. Adequate self parking."

  • "We visit Hilton Head Island often and finally made it to Michael Anthony's for dinner. I can't believe we had not visited before. We both had the Early Bird Special. I had the Tuscan bean soup which was very flavorful although small, my husband had the Caesar salad which was good but nothing spectacular and very very small. For entrees my husband had the Maiale alla Piccata It was perfectly cooked with wonderful flavor and presentation. I had the Spaghetti con Granchio, It was like a party in my mouth! I would eat this every day if I could! For dessert we shared the Tiramisu and Profiteroles. Both were great but I would definitely order the Tiramisu when we return. Can't wait for our next meal at Michael Anthony's"

Everyone inside spoke and was very friendly. They made my Valentine's Day dinner feelvery romantic. My wwaitress didn't bother me too much. Everything about that night was perfect. I would recommend that restaurant to my friends all day everyday."

A wonderful setting with a first rate menu and service which was knowledgeable and helpful, while not hovering. Our dinners, tuna carpaccio and PEI mussels followed by osso bucco and roles-stuffed veal, were just delicious right-sized portions. i have already recommended it and will return soon."

My husband had homemade pasta with homemade Italian sausage. I had salmon which was tasting but a little over cooked (even though I did ask for it to be medium well). Overall and enjoyable meal. We would go back to try other entrees."

  • "I am a vegan and went to Michael Anthony's with two non-vegans. In short, we all were very impressed by the food! The chef even made a special vegan pasta for me and it was delicious! I so had a Panzanella salad that was excellent and a mango sorbet at the end of the meal. Highly recommended!"

  • "The food was delicious! The only reason I didn't rate it a 5 was because they didn't offer different pasta noodles. They had mostly spaghetti noodles. I usually enjoy linguini better. Having said that, my Spaghetti Pescatore was flavorful and I thoroughly enjoyed it. My husband had a chicken plate and the chicken was very tender."
