  • "Place looked great, been there a long time, had amazing interior antique design and I love the different levels. However, the service was moderate (server forgot to bring a couple of things and had to be reminded) and the food was not great! sauteed mushroom appetizer and caprese salad were probably where we should have stopped! We ordered the veal and the spaghetti with chicken livers. Too much food and not good enough to want to eat much of it! disappointing and will not return."

  • "we were pleasantly surprised at Miceli's has kept it old school. the menu is typical in that it is traditional Italian and the flavors are great. good lasagna and chianti. what else does one need. the décor is right out of the 30's-40's and the service was great."

  • "Our party of 4 thoroughly enjoyed the food, our singing waiter, the decor, and the great value at Miceli's in Hollywood. Considering its close proximity to Hollywood & Highland where tourists abound, Miceli's could easily succumb to high prices, poor food and worse service, but not so! I won't hesitate to recommend it and to return when I'm in Hollywood again. It's a delightful spot!"

  • "While not totally hidden, Miceli's sets right off of Hollywood Blvd...one block from the Hollywood and Highland Center. It was established in 1949 and many celebrates, including Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin frequented this hometown Italian restaurant. We love it. We go there every time we attend a show or concert in the area. My favorite dish is their Spinach Lasagna or their original lasagna if you like meat. The ambiance after 6is great. There is live piano bar music and the waiters and waitresses take turns singing an old tune from the 40s, 50s and 60s."

  • "I was really looking forward to dining at this resto but was somewhat disappointed.. Our server was slow and uninterested, the food bland, the pasta wa obviously not fresh, the veal a bit chewy... would never go back."

  • "It's easy to see why Micell's has been in business for 65 years. Great food and excellent service - truly a neighborhood gem!"

  • "I came here to celebrate my twentieth birthday with a group of friends. The ambiance of this place always blows me away. The servers were very friendly and, of course, very talented. Everyone loved the music being played and sung. The food was alright. They were very helpful about separate checks which was great considing we had a group of ten. Overall, great place for special events."

  • "Miceli's is a wonderful throwback to those special restautants that were much more prevelant many decades ago. Great food, pleasant atmosphere, and excellent service. We were there Thursday night early, prior to our theatre reservations and it was relatively easy to find a nice table. Regardless, I would recommend reservations well in advice which worked flawlessly using OpenTable. Love this place and will return again and again whenever we are in Hollywood. REAL Italian food cooked to perfection. At a reasonable price. Perfect. And of course enjoyed also the beautiful live piano music."

  • "The food and ambience were good. There was not as much singing as I had hoped, but maybe that was just the night we were there. Expect to pay for parking. Overall, it was an okay experience. I would recommend going to the Universal City location!!!!"

  • "The restaurant is a fixture in Hollywood with a long history in the community. They boast about 65 years in business and it looks like they have been there for 65 years. The place looks a little tired. The food was decent and the service was attentive. If they up their game, they could restore the glory of days gone by."

  • "It was a perfect evening on Valentine's Day. With our reservation they sat us down immediately. The piano was going the whole evening with the waiters taking turns singing. They had a really good surf and turf special and only a $10 corkage feet. We had a wonderful time."

  • "Interesting to do once to say you've done it. Singing waiters and how historic the restaurant are do make for an interesting show, but are not enough to cover up the food being pretty sub par."

  • "If you can, opt to sit close to the piano. The pianist who played that night (Brian, if I remember correctly) was quite amicable and very receptive to requests. His piano playing made for an enchanting dining experience, and made this place a favorite of mine."

  • "First we got to the bar and waited quite a bit for the bartender. On our second round of drinks my wife got a martini that tasted like detergent and again, had to wait quite a bit for the bartender to remake the drink. When we moved to our table for dinner, iur waitress was nice enough but was more worried about singing at the piano than waiting tables. I didn't get an bread and our service was just ok. Not great at all"

  • "My sister and I went to Micelis because she had to write a paper about a jazz performance, and was told by a website, that jazz music would be playing that night. When we arrived, the ambiance was perfect for this little Italian resturant, which was tucked away by all the lights and glamour of Hollywood. Our food was amazing! I had the Pesto, and it was one of the best pesto sauces I had. My sister had their famous lasagna, which came right out of the oven (cheese sizzling and all)... We both loved our dishes! Although jazz music was not played, Micelis had a live pianist there who was wonderful, and played everything by memory! This place is true authentic Italian, and I recommend it to any who loves great food with wonderful service!"

  • "I had reservations at 5 on a Thursday evening & we were running late due to the rain. I called to inform them we would be there, & the girl who answered the phone was rude & rushed me off the phone. When we arrived, 25 min late, the place was pretty empty but they acted like they couldn't find anywhere to seat us. Then, we sat there for a good 15 min before anyone came to take our drink order. We finally got out food ordered but it seemed like only one waiter was working. The Hostess just stood around talking to what looked like a manager. Food was good, but I won't be back."

  • "This was a dinner for 20 to celebrate my daughters 18th birthday. We were sat at 2 tables. When I made the reservation and when they called to confirm, no one asked if 2 different tables were ok. The 2 tables could not engage in conversation. We had to ask for rolls several times. I understand the automatic gratuity on large parties. This allows the service to be unsatisfactory and the server still gets a great tip. Our service wasn't great, nor was it even good. It was fair. I wouldn't tip that much on fair. A class of Riesling was ordered. A glass of red wine was received and the waitress tried to convince us that was Riesling. We knew it was not, but she insisted. She finally figured it out and brought the right wine."

  • "This place is fantastic, from the ambiance to the singing waiters and of coarse the food. Everything we had was great. It was our first time and definitely will not be our last. Can't wait to take out of town guests here as well. Rare authentic Italian gem in Hollywood."

  • "We were a group of six. We made a reservation, but there was no waiting once we got there, unlike many LA restaurants where they overbook and keep you waiting even when you make a reservation. This is an old style southern Italian restaurant - good pastas, good meatballs, excellent fettuccini with muscles! While we dined, one by one the staff sang a show tune! Unexpected, but very fun, we all enjoyed it! Good food with a show!"

  • "We came here for my best friend's bachelorette party on Saturday. We got a special table on the balcony with a great view of the piano. Our server was great at taking care of us, really friendly and fast. He even sang a song to our bride. The food was delicious."

  • "With so many millionaires plunking down millions to develop the most bland designs, Miceli's is old school at its finest with Chicken Parmigiana with the thickest goop of P-Cheese on top. The decor, not lame over the top kitchy like Buca, but original, just the way mamma left it. How can you not love a place decorated with empty Chanti bottles tied to the ceiling, everyone signed by a patron...through-out the entire restaurant. The ENTIRE restaurant. The food is old school, the live piano player, who has played with Martin, Sinatra and his kids, the wait staff, a throw back to a classic Sunday Italian dinner. Love it!"

  • "Miceli's has become a traditional stop before we see a show at the amazing Pantages Theatre in Hollywood. As always, the dinner before the show was outstanding. The service was impeccable and I can't wait to go back. The oldest Italian restaurant in Hollywood came through again. Family businesses are a dying breed so it's good to see a successful restaurant like this still cranking out great food and a perfect ambience. Thank you all. Looking forward to our next visit."

  • "Miceli's. is the oldest Italian restaurant in Hollywood. I've been coming here for over 25 years and I'm never disappointed with the food, value, or service. The menu is simple, old-school Italian. My favourite is the Veal Parmesan."

  • "I will keep this short and sweet. Waiter had no personality, was not engaging to out party of four and seemed bothered that he had to wait on us. Service was slow (although the food runners where quick). We enjoyed the provided basket of bread and asked two separate people two times for a refill but after dinning for about an hour we still had not received the bread refill. The thing that really bothered us was that the experience we had last year at the Studio City Mecelis was amazing. It seems almost like there are two different owners."

  • "Miceli's give you the feel of a restaurant in old Italy. The brick building with three levels makes it look cavernous when it really isn't. The piano player keeps things lively and the waitress's serenading the restaurant is a wonderful touch. The food is excellent, I am not Italian and do not pretend to be an expert on Italian food but I know what I like, and I like the food at Miceli's."

  • "At one time you could go to the place on the corner and have a good ,solid home style meal with your family . You'd get the same quality food you would cook at home but it was a nice break not to cook or have to clean up afterwards. This place is just like that...warm,cozy and friendly. The food is good....not celebrity chef good but going to Grandma's on a Sunday good. You'll smile after dinner."
