  • "If you are flying into DFW and have a car available and want a really great TexMex meal (with New Mexico overtones.... Hatch Chilies to start) then head to Main Street Grapevine and Mi Dia From Scratch.... its just off the highway and easy to find... and be sure to have the guacamole cart! you won't be disappointed"

  • "I found this restaurant last minute, so we took a small group there for lunch. The service was very good and all the wait staff came by with a smile. The tableside guac service is awesome!! The tortilla soup was a little more like a chip stew, but the flavors were good. The tacos were super tasty. We'd go again if we lived in town!"

  • "As always, the guac was excellent and the margaritas excel."

  • "The pork tacos and tortilla soup were the perfect lunch combination......everything was so fresh and well made and presented, it was a real delight. Our table was ready, the service was quick and knowledgeable and we were in and out in an hour. Great lunch getaway. I will definitely do it again."

  • "Awesome!! Excellent food and service, great atmosphere very cool contemporary setting This place was as good as advertised and was worth the drive to get there"

  • "We live in Richardson, but we'll make the drive out to Grapevine for this gem. The salsa is great-- a mix of a few varieties in one bowl, very inventive. Table side guacamole is delicious. They use serrano peppers instead of jalapeno; the heat is addictive. :) You won't be disappointed in the menu- I highly recommend the beef fajitas. We never manage to save enough room for dessert, but maybe we'll try it out on our next visit. As for the margaritas- I'd suggest house; the difference of the upper-tier options aren't worthy of the extra cost, in my opinion. They make a mean house marg. Reservations highly suggested for weekend dinner. Enjoy!"

  • "Love the food but wish they had a Brunch Menu- It comes up on Yelp as a Brunch place, but has the same menu. Still great food and good service."

  • "Excellent food, you can really tell it is made fresh and not just put together from precooked stuff when you order like most Mexican restaurants. Service was great, our waiter Zander was very attentive without being a bother. Would have been 5 full stars if there was a dessert option that I had liked."

  • "I tried Mi Dia for the first time, and it was fantastic! The food was delicious, the salsa was superb, and the atmosphere was elegant yet fun. The service wasn't "great", but I'm 17 years old, so I never really expect great service when I go out to eat. Overall, it was amazing, and I would recommend it to anybody that can afford it!"

  • "We sat at the bar and our bartenders were wonderful. Very informative about the menu and their drinks. Was able to make recommendations with confidence and immediately. I ordered the Heat of the Desert margarita and it was spicy and tasty. The ceviche appetizer was delicious. The steak and relleno entree was delicious and also very tasty. My husband ordered the relleno huataloche (sp) and this also was a flavorful vegetarian dish. Flan was perfect. Loved being able to see and watch the kitchen at work from the bar area. Chef was very involved with every dish that came out of the kitchen. Impressive."

  • "The food here is quite good and I could see that if you were served by a good wait person you might really like this place. Unfortunately, our service wasn't great. We had 9:30 reservations (we made reservations through open table, it was NOT the last reservation available) the first thing we were told when we were seated was that the kitchen would be closing in :15 - so we had to hurry up. Well, why have a 9:30 reservation available if you don't really want folks at 9:30? Our drink order came incorrectly (no salt on the margarita came with salt, no lime for the beer, came with lime in the beer). Then, our waiter disappeared for 10 minutes while we waited with menu's closed, wondering if we shouldn't have just gone across the street?"

  • "Good food. But it was Labor day weekend (Sunday night) and our server said they had a lot of staff call-ins so they were short-handed SO the service was inattentive for the $ you pay for this type of restaurant. We ended up having to retrieve our drinks from the bar because no one to serve us. We had late reservations, but hostesses were still dazed and confused. One actually pointed to our table to go ahead and head over there. I hurried to the table before my wife had a chance to "reply". But stuff likes this can happen, so we'll try again on a non-holiday weekend and give it a another shot. It is a neighborhood restaurant."

  • "Went at 8:30 pm on Sunday, Labor Day weekend, with family of four. Many empty tables, but a queue for seating. Sopes, Pato a la Parilla, Shrimp Brochette, and Cochinita Pibil were truly DIVINE. Overall experience was absolutely MISERABLE, due to inattentive and even inept service. Server able to talk endlessly about from where the chef drew inspiration for various menu sections and from where the ingredients of each dish were sourced; however, we had LONG delays for food and drink, and bill had to recalculated twice (at my insistence) to remove double charges. Also detracting from excellent food was the ambiance: a pathetic attempt to create "urban" vibe in downtown Grapevine, from glitzy bar (also terrible service) to stark decor."

  • "Friendly staff, good food and no long wait for food after order placed. Will go back again!"

  • "While we arrived for a 5:15 reservation, the restaurant was fairly empty and quite; we were tucked in a back corner; with 3 waitors assigned too us (too many!) once the restaurant picked up with several large parties around us, it felt as though we were ignored; our drinks went empty several times for us to struggle to find someone to get us water; the spice level of your food does require water in your glass. While I was not impressed with my dinner, for it being generic items, flauta, taco, encillada, I was expecting more from the impression I was given of this restaurant. I have received better food and service from On the Border. There is definitely some room for improvement by the wait staff and organization of the restaurant."

  • "There are to many other Mexican restaurants for less money and better food and service. My husband ordered quesadillas the meat was black, like the chef had burned the steak earlier and then threw it in the quesadillas so know one would no. Needless to say he didn't finish them. I had a small change on my order and my waitress did the opposite then looked annoyed when I needed it corrected! The quacamole was nothing special Anamias in southlake does the same amount for $4 less. We went here for our anniversary hoping for a good change but was extremely disappointed. If your into alcohol especially tequila they have alot unfortunately I'm pregnant and was not able to try them but i did see a lot of pretty drinks leave the bar."

  • "I really enjoyed the atmosphere here. The food was great, people were having a good time, and it was open late. This was a hidden gem that we ran up on and will definitely be back."

  • "The location is awesome, but make a reservation in advance as the weekend nightlife makes it almost impossible to get in. The atmosphere is welcoming as though you are having a family reunion. The wait staff is very knowledgable about the menu and had great suggestions. Plenty of choices at great prices. I look forward to going back and trying other things!"

  • "The bar and restaurant are above the league for most of the restaurants in the area. The staff do a good job of making you feel like you have come to a special venue, and you have."

  • "I had heard from so many friends that this place had the best Mexican food ever. I was not impressed at all. Rather bland, salsa served cold and in such a small serving that it was like they were rationing it, chips appeared to be from a bag and for all of that extremely over priced. It is my opinion that people think that the food is great because they have to wait so long to get in they are starving when their food arrives. If you want to show off that you have tons of money to spend for mediocre food this is a great place, especially if it is to impress folks from up north. The wait staff were wonderful, attentive when should be and left us a alone to enjoy as should."

  • "Mi Dia was very good...the house made tortillas that came with my fajitas were excellent."

  • "We've been to Mi Dia 3 times, and each time, our service was VERY slow. We've tried on a weekend night, a weekday night, and a weekend afternoon. All painfully slow and unattentive. The food is very good, but after 3 tries with poor service, we probably won't be back for a while. The patio area is great, and will be awesome on those Texas summer nights."

  • "Beautiful new place, but the staff lacks experience Incoming people need to wait too long to be seated The food was good The service was horrible & borderline ( rude) The outdoor is nice but to close to the wall of restaurant , need more green or plants or trees... Mi Dia = C rated"

  • "We had a great time Valentine's Day here at Mi Dia. We came early but by 6PM the restaurant was full. Chips and salsa good, margarita was nice. Tableside guacamole is a must, so many choices to pick from for personalized combination. This is our 2nd time here and we'll be back."
    Dined on 2/14/2012
  • "This restaurant is a welcome addition to the mid cities restaurant scene! The decor is upscale, and the menu is innovative. The service is attentive and the tableside guacamole is the best "guac" we have ever had!"

  • "Absolutely the best Mexican food within 20-30 miles. No doubt. The Mexico- and Southwest-inspired food is a real departure from Tex Mex (gladly!). The margaritas, while there are 20 some to choose from are all very good and sweetened with Agave nectar so you don't get that sugar rush working. The Street Tacos are great, and if you're looking for an appetizer, try the sopas. You won't be disappointed. Use Open Table to reserve, especially on the weekends. Can't wait to sit out on the porch in nicer weather."
