A word from Mi Casa by Jose Andres - Dorado Beach a Ritz-Carlton Reserve
Inspired by the storied past of this unique location at Dorado Beach, José Andrés introduces Mi Casa. Paying homage to the property’s original plantation home, Su Casa, José welcomes guests into a relaxed, luxurious setting, where traditional flavors are transformed by modern presentations.
/>At Mi Casa, José also re-imagines fine dining, creating an interactive, engaging atmosphere. A kitchen display bar and understated, elegant cocktail service help to break down the barriers of formal dining service. José’s goal is that guests are well-looked after and feel very much at home, as you would in José’s casa. Dishes and drinks will be prepared right before you. Service will be very personal and attentive, but always professional.

Serving breakfast and dinner daily, Mi Casa will transform throughout the day from breezy and bright in the morning, to casual elegance in the evenings.

Diner Reviews
  • "Great food and service. Winelist is a bit pricey. Try the experience menu so you can get a taste of the best plates on the menu. The bocadillo de lechon is to die for."

  • "Beautiful setting, great service, most of the tasting menu was delicious but a few dishes missed by either being too simple or not fitting the theme of the tasting menu. recommend for a special occasion."

  • "Every dish we selected was perfection. Service was very good. Chef was not happy with how one appetizer came out so they offered us to select another one on the house. Will surely return for the next celebration, or just for the food. "

  • "The dishes were amazing!! Some of the dishes were more pleasing to the eye than the palette. some dishes were vice versa and then there were the dishes that hit the mark on both points... absolutely amazing. It was delicious, fun, inspiring and a evening to remember. You should have to experience it to believe it!! "

  • "Food was nice but not 'wow' which I would expect for the price. We had a voucher which partially covered our bill. If I'd had to pay the full amount I would have felt hard done by. I would not recommend this to a friend unless they regularly spend $300 on dinner (for 2) for an OK meal."

  • "Top 3 best dining experience ever. Amazing service and the food tasting was tremendous. "

  • "The Sampler menu provided a party of four with constant supply of outstanding tapas dishes to delight first the eye and then the very grateful palate. The service was flawless with a constant flow of flavorful dishes. "

  • "We could not have picked a better restaurant to celebrate our 20th Wedding Anniversary. The food, service, view and ambiance were beyond compare. I highly recommend it for special occasions. My wife and I will definitely be back."

  • "It's like a fancy restaurant meets a cozy dinner party. Or molecular gastronomy meets comfort food. Mi Casa is elegant and inviting. Obscenely good cocktails (in a cool bar area). Great food that's fun and playful. Seamless service. I have been back again and again and it never deviates from its greatness!"

  • "More marketing than gastronomy. Another Spanish fiasco. Just a celebrity name with good ideas badly executed. only 2 memorable dishes: chicken croquettes and chocolate ganache. Don't try the Chicken with confit dates and plantain puree. It's literally a chicken thigh (not even breast) with 3 dates on the side. Was terribly tasteless/insipid. One of the dishes is just insulting: "Gnocchi de yucca con "Trufas blancas de Puerto Rico" translated as "Yuca gnocchi with heart of palm"... Hey, Mr. Jose Andre!!! how could you compare a Heart of Palm with a White Truffle??? What's next? puertorrican mushroom = green plantain? Please, be creative but not insulting!!! ... And...Where did you get a puertorrican heart of Palm??? Good service. Nice décor."

  • "Our table had the prix fixe menu (called the "Mi Casa Experience") for $85 per person. The selections were all very interesting and artfully prepared. The downer occurred when we finished and got to the valet. The 2 hour parking fee at the ritz Carlton (which is in the middle of nowhere with a ton of parking availability) for the "opportunity" to spend $794 for four at their restaurant was $20. Seems totally ridiculous to me to pay a valet $20 (before the obligatory tip) to watch them walk over to my car and drive it 30 feet to me."

  • "My family and I stayed at the Dorado Ritz and ate dinner at Mi Casa on our last night. The restaurant not only is stunningly gorgeous, but the view of the ocean is as well. We had around 3-4 people waiting on us the whole time. They were friendly and enthusiastic and helpful throughout the night. We ordered three courses and were pleasantly surprised at how fast they came. The menu had so many unique offers- and we tried a lot of them. Everything was delicious and better yet- didn't make you feel full or heavy. Everything we ate was a stand out- but I definitely recommend the veal, the roasted pork belly and the chicken thighs. The conch fritters and sweet potato chips with yogurt dipping sauce were hits as well. We left very, very happy!"

  • "Restaurant is trying to be eclectic but it is just weird food. Steak was very fatty, Caesar salad was in such I form, very little lettuce and certainly not what I would call a salad. Tried to order two wines, both were not available. Settled for a third that was just okay. Service was okay but hardly attentive. We were looking forward to an anniversary dinner that was very disappointing."

  • "I am a fan of Jose Andres and have dined at several of his restaurants--three in DC, Vegas, and Miami. I am glad I went out to Dorado (we were staying in Condado) and experienced the Ritz resort, but I would not make the effort to go back. The food was fine, but not outstanding; somewhat on the bland-side. We did mostly tapas, with one entree for three people."

  • "As always Mi Casa offers one of the best dining experiences in the Island. From it's bar, to it's food you will have an awesome dinner."

  • "The atmosphere was great! Beautiful view if you arrive at sunset. The food was good but not outstanding like we had hoped. Maybe we just didn't order the right things. Large variety of items on menu. What we were surprised by was that our waiter Christian was not very attentive. At one point he seemed annoyed when we stopped him in passing for a glass of wine. We were staying at the resort and felt the service at the restaurant should have been better for such a high caliber resort."

  • "Dining at mi casa is a wonderful experience. Food was very good but I have to say we were a little disappointed. My husband had to send his steak back because it wasn't hot. The restaurant was not that busy that the food wasn't served perfectly. If you are not staying at the hotel and you drive to the restaurant be prepared to pay $18.00 to park your car. I think that's a little outrageous."

  • "This is a restaurant right next to the seaside with a gorgeous view filled with nature noises. The food is exquisite and the service we had from our server was top notch. The food style is influenced by the different countries Puerto Rico has been influenced in. If you have the need for a special dinner, and you have the monetary means, you should definitely try it. (e.g. Mi Casa Experience is 85 and is a set of 8 to 10 different courses)."
    Dined on 1/10/2014
  • "Certainly worthy of a visit when near Dorado. No complaints about a single dish or the service, just nothing that stands out even the following day. Frankly the other restaurant in the resort was better - 3 or 4 notable dishes."

  • "If you ever get to Puerto Rico, we highly recommend Mi Casa by Jose Andres. It is set in the Ritz Carlton Reserve, right on the ocean. The views and ambiance are spectacular. The 11- course Tasting menu is fabulous and priced well for any special occasion. They have an extensive wine list to please just about anyone, including several sparkling wines."

  • "Can't beat this for food creativity, but service is surprisingly disorganized for such a famous and very expensive place. Do get the tasting menu (if price is no object). Forget the overpriced wines and order the excellent Sangria prepared tableside., If you're lucky enough to be staying at the idyllic Dorado Beach property, this restaurant is a must."

  • "Me encantó el Experience, todos los platos son exquisitos, la presentación tan exótica como en Las Vegas y los meseros muy agradables y complacientes. Lo recomendaré y les aseguro que volver, planeo regresar todos los años para la misma fecha."

  • "Food and service were good. The room has a strange ambiance. An eclectic assortment of art decorates the room but creates a stark feeling. The room lacks warmth and character. No table clothes but cheap placemats on the tables. The room is very long which is accentuated by a very long row of banquets. The floor to ceiling windows lacked any window treatments and were wet with condensation. The bar has huge potential but is dominated by a game table (which while we were there was being used by children). The lighting in both the bar and the restaurant was very bright. the entire place lacks a feeling of intimacy. There is a lot of potential and with some adjustments can be remedied to something unique."

  • "We really enjoyed Mi Casa. I had the most succulent yuca gnocchi and the deconstructed Spanish omelet is truly delectable. I would go again just for that app! The only con is it's A bit pricey, even for a 5 star hotel."

  • "The food at Mi Casa was great. The ambiance was fine and service was very attentive. Of course, it was very expensive, but we knew that when making the reservation. However, it was offensive to be charged $18 for validated valet parking, in the middle of a large plantation with extensive real estate. It points to the "nickle and diming" one gets at a Ritz Carlton. There should not have been a parking charge!"

  • "Service was poor - menus not brought to table, then not collected. Service slow - dessert took very long time to arrive which seemed unusual in that no cooking was required. Was unable to cut thru the "crispy crust" on the pork with mango entree. Does not live up to the hype or the price but setting is lovely."

  • "Food was OK but not memorable and not worth the price. I dined at two of Jose Andres's restaurants in DC and it is not in the same league. Overall, I am glad I went but I would not go again and would not recommend to others. There are better restaurants in PR for half the price."

  • "Jose's Tapas Experience Menu was fabulous! Each course was so interesting and innovative, but most of all delicious! A dairy allergy was no issue, with lovely substitutions when needed."
    Dined on 9/18/2013
  • "They have a welcoming atmosphere and the Jose G&T was special! All courses were good, service great - would highly recommend everything as excellent except the scallops as too salty - allow time to enjoy the view from the bar with before dinner drinks!"

  • "If you want a special dinning experience, Jose Andres is the place. From cocktails at the bar to the entrance to the restaurant itself where the staff greet you at unison, the experience was spectacular. Our server Jennymar was enthusiastic to explain the menu and at the same time well mannered. Everything on the degustation menu was good including the serving dishes, very unique plating in some of the courses. It was a lovely evening!"
