Diner Reviews
  • "We celebrated my daughter's 17th birthday on a Saturday night. We had a party of 7 including a vegetarian, a vegan, and 5 of us who eat both meat and veggie items. Meze was a perfect choice for this group, and the waiter worked with us to pick menu options that would accommodate everyone. We ended up with the tasting menu for 5 (served homestyle), a vegetarian tasting menu for one, and a la carte veggie selections for another. The food was excellent. The waiter was extrememly professional but with a sincere warmth. My other daughter felt that the food and atmosphere were authentic to what she experienced in Turkey last year. Upstairs room can accommodate a couple of tables of 8-10 and is quieter than downstairs. A+!"

  • "I love, love, love this restaurant! I have traveled to Turkey and the food and friendliness of it is transported to Adams Morgan. The food is delicious and authentic and the staff are incredibly friendly and service orientated. They have a great Happy Hour menu, well as great event menus. My spouse and I rang in the New Year with Meze! I'm excited to try their new all you can eat & drink brunch on Saturdays and Sundays."

  • "We went for an unlimited small plates and a bottomless mimosa brunch with a Groupon. I thought the food was fine (not great, but good). It was super busy, but our waiter did a great job of being attentive. It was a very casual place in Adam's Morgan. It had multiple floors and we sat on the second floor, which very cozy (in a good way, not in a too crowded way)."

  • "Boyfriend and I went there for my Birthday Dinner and the 11 item 4 course tasting menu. Soooo very very good. Super friendly staff. Definitely a will return."

  • "We ate on the sidewalk on a brisk,, but not unpleasantly cold night in March, largely because the inside seemed crowded and noisy and the sidewalk was quieter and you could watch the world go by. We had all appetizers, all of them very well prepared, especially the rack of lamb and the calamari, which was delicately fried with minimal breading. Tender and sweet, well done. Parking in Adams Morgan is awful, but probably worth it."

  • "I bought a Groupon deal for an unlimited brunch deal for two people. I love Turkish food and Meze did not disappoint. The menu had a wide variety of mezzes, salads, omelets, and burgers. For two hours you could order as much as you like and the mimosas kept flowing. The service was amazing-there was almost no wait for our food and our waiter was very attentive. I would go back to Meze regardless of if I had the Groupon."

  • "This was a good place to get brunch. A lot of authentic Mediterranean dishes and the unlimited drinks were pretty good."

  • "The 11 item tasting menu was wonderful--filled with well-prepared Turkish specialties. The array of desserts also good. The Groupon got us to the restaurant but we will return again!"

  • "The customer service leaves a lot to be desired. Without getting into specifics, there was a problem with our bill and the manager did absolutely nothing to assist in correcting it. He was more interested in having drinks and gossiping with young ladies at the next table."

  • "The eleven item menu provided 11 items of distinct flavor and texture. Food was very tasty and nicely presented. The only thing I would change? The chocolate sauce on the puff was a bit too thick and rich. Otherwise I highly recommend Meze for a fine dining experience."

  • "Escaped from Philly to DC for the weekend and chose Meze for their vegetarian friendly recommendation online. We were lucky to be able to sit outside under the heater last night and enjoyed the parade of passersby while being pleasantly surprised by their delicious food and attentive service. Would return and recommend without question."

  • "The food definitely reminded me of the year I spent in Ankara, Turkey although maybe a little less spicy than over there. This is the second or third time I've been to Meze and every time they have been out of Efes Pilsner. Only Efes Dark was available. Maybe take the pilsner off the list or order more? Anyway, we were absolutely stuffed from the tasting menu."

  • "Our meal at Meze was excellent. Meze was more quaint than I expected, and had an authentic Turkish ambiance. I tried the shepherd's salad, stuffed eggplant, scallops and lamb skewers. Each dish was equally delicious and I recommend all four."

  • "I was there on a Valentine Evening date. The restaurant is nice and the staff are very friendly. Food is delicious and represent Turkish cuisine, which is different than Mediterranean food you will have elsewhere in US. Restaurant is small but not too small. Guests are mostly young people and couples."

  • "Went on Valentine's Day for dinner, ordered the 4 course prefixed dinner, waitress brought out the food in the wrong order, wrong dinner entree, and dinner entree was lukewarm. The place was rated 4.5 stars, but the service made the experience subpar."

  • "I went with a large group of 15 people for my birthday and we had our own little private area on the second floor which was nice. The table was in an awkward shape but it worked. The drinks were good and strong but a little small. The food was good but nothing spectacular. The servers were a little slow but all very nice and they brought me dessert and all of us free shots (it was my 21st!) so can't really complain. Overall satisfied!"

  • "We were there on a groupon deal, it was a great deal and we genuinely enjoyed the food. The goat cheese pastry was my favorite, it was absolutely heavenly. The desserts were also a highlight, the baklava was very crispy and you could tell it was fresh."

  • "I really enjoyed the food. The menu is diverse and flavorful and the people were super nice."

  • "I love this place, an oldy but goodie. Over the weekend I had a few friends in from out of town, so of course this came to mind. The food came out quickly and the drinks were wonderful - I suggest the "Green" cocktail (cucumber, cucumber infused vodka, basil and lemon). To be frank, everything was delicious and we had a great time; best of all, we never felt pressured to eat and run like at so many other restaurants. Our waiter was exceptionally helpful and made great suggestions. Meze is also the only Turkish restaurant in the area that I know of that serves Manti (meat ravioli/dumplings in a yogurt/garlic sauce). Meze remains a favorites that I will definitely return to again- and even better, my friends were impressed with my selection."

  • "This was our first time experiencing this restaurant & the food, the service, the ambience made us feel as though we were royalty. LOL! We sat on the second level at a secluded little corner for two. We ordered the tasting menu & EVERYTHING was SUPERB!! Our glasses never got empty, the servers checked on us periodically & everything was done with a smile. I know that my babe enjoyed it because he STAYED talking about this place. We will definitely be back. Thank you Meze!!"

  • "We loved the restaurant and dining experience. There were six of us and we decided on the tasting menu, as it was a choice that took no effort on our part. The food started to flow, each bite was outstanding and there were 11 flavors of mojitos!!"
