We were in Chicago for the weekend, and looking for somewhere a bit special (but not too "special") to go, and Mexique was perfect. Love Mexican food, and really appreciated Mexique's unique approach. Lamb was amazing. Skate was delicious. For dessert, the Enchiladas were even better than all the previous reviewers promised. The room is lovely...a bit noisy, but we had a cozy corner table with a great view of the restaurant. We took a cab to Mexique (8 minutes from Wacker/State), but walked back east along Chicago St and hopped on the train (El) just east of the river ... and it was really nice to get out of the city centre. Look forward to going back and exploring more of Mexique's menu!

Unique fusion of nouvelle cuisine technique with Mexican ingredients and flavors superbly prepared and presented. One of our best dining experiences in Chicago and moderately priced, too. We have been here before, but our friends had not and they are definitely planning a return visit.

This is the third time we had dinner at Mexique. The first two were beyond wonderful. This one was mediocre. Don't know why. Maybe it was an off night. Hope that's all it is.

Had the restaurant to ourselves for a family pre Easter lunch. Food was amazing as always. Server and kitchen staff were very accomodating as part of our group was an hour late due to traffic.

This was my second time at Mexique. I went with my girlfriend, and we have made it an annual tradition. The food is great! We started off with some sangria, and Mexique's sangria is the best I've had. I also had the Beef Tartar to start which was just as good as I had remembered it to be. I then for my entree had the lamb, which was cooked to perfection and melted in my mouth. We finished the night with the Enchilada Dessert, which was the perfect amount of non-overbearing chocolate deliciousness! The overall ambiance is very good. I highly suggest this place. I've never been there with a group, but I think it'd be fun to go for the sangria and some appetizers with friends.

We decided to do Easter Brunch on Saturday to avoid the crowds. We had an early reservation and had the whole place to ourselves. What a treat. Service and food were great. This will be our new favorite place for breakfast/lunch.

Always have the asada with the goat cheese fondue. So good could lick the plate clean. Had the mussels to start and the broth was excellent. We must always go at off times or too early. Were there 6:30 on Thursday night and only 4 other tables. Maybe because next day was Good Friday and lots of people headed out of town.

I think Mexique is one of the best Mexican restaurants in town when it comes to ingredients, preparation, presentation together with service and value. The French fusion "twist" makes this place special. Service has been consistently good based upon 5 or 6 visits to date, and the chef/owner Carlos, has nearly always made an appearance at each table greeting guests and seeking their dining reactions. I was there with family last Easter for brunch and it was our unanimous opinion that it was the best such brunch to date.
