While we did not order anything terribly complicated (tartare duo - delicious, burgers - tasty, salad with salmon - large serving, well prepared), we were treated to very good food, delectable drinks, and excellent service. A surprise had been arranged ahead of time and working with the staff at MET Back Bay was straightforward and pleasant. We ordered the ham and cheese app, but the slicing machine was broken so we got the shrimp cocktail. It was yummy but the shrimp was not as large and fresh as an Abe and Louis or Atlantic Fish. My salad was a 3.4/5 stars. Wine was great and the room is lovely. I would go back for sure. The only complaint we have is the advertising (at entrance register) for a delicious chef dessert with proceeds going to breast cancer. We asked our waitress about it, and looked forward to enjoying it. However, our visit was Friday night., and we were informed after dinner that they were not serving it until Monday. Very happy with the MET Back Bay. Service was excellent, food was really tasty, and the restaurant was charming - kind of old but with cool modern touches.
