Diner Reviews
  • "We were greeted by friendly and gracious staff at the door that took our request for outdoor seating without hesitation. Our server, Gio, was polite and attentive. Initially, a menu was presented to select an individually prepared entree. We chose the eggs Benedict that had with a velvety sauce. The hot tapas buffet included chicken and beef entrees, and a seafood paella all seasoned to perfection. The carving station served a tender prime rib of beef. The cold buffet displayed plates of tasty smoked salmon, various salads, crisp asparagus, bowls of fresh ripe raspberries, blueberries, and strawberries, and a variety of melons, dried fruits and nuts. Chocolate terrine with raspberry sauce completed our dining experience. Kudos to the chef!"

  • "food was incredible! We were moved inside due to weather. Only disappointment was where we were sitted, the room was too dark. No lighting over the table for 7 ppl."

  • "I've been dining at this restaurant since it opened in 1988. It never fails to impress with its innovative menu, attentive service and beautiful surroundings. It's one of the best in Chicago. You would have to travel to Spain to taste comparable dishes. If you haven't indulged in the Spanish experience, this is the restaurant to visit to explore Spanish cuisine."

  • "Could not have picked a better place for my wife and I to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary. This picturesque venue was very clean inside and out, comfortable, the staff were very courteous, and the foods just tasted amazing. My wife and I will definitely be going back there again and again."

  • "We love coming to Mason Sabika. Food was delicious. Service was great. We had a relaxing dinner out on the patio & never felt rushed, and they were plenty busy so you might think they would want to flip the table as quickly as possible. Beautiful summer evening so we were able to sit outside & enjoy the lovely patio. Really a great night!"

  • "We took my sister & brother-in-law for their 25th anniversary. The service was responsive. The food was wonderfully prepared. The Sangria was refreshing-both red & White. The overall experience was capped with a delicately dessert."

  • "We sat outside in the beautiful garden for lunch. Although we were one of only two tables outside, our server never forgot us and we were well attended. The food was great and the server had good wine suggestions as well. I would definitely return."

  • "Excellent Sunday brunch. Enjoyable for families and couples."

  • "We go for the dessert. We stay for the tapas. Sometimes we go for a full meal. Mostly we go to entertain and have a fun lunch or dinner with friends or family. We mostly go for dessert dates and have a coffee with some creme brûlée. The staff is kind but the food is the highlight."

  • "We were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. The staff gave us a table in a private, quiet room overlooking the gardens. Every request we had they tried to accommodate. They even gave us a card and two glasses of champagne at the end. It was a very romantic, relaxing private time. The food was delicious and the service was excellent!"

  • "We recommend Meson Sabika for special occasions. The tappas are wonderful - and there is a huge variety to choose from. Timing for bringing them out is excellent. The atmosphere is homey and nice - if the weather is good the outside patio is wonderful. A great place to spend a special night. Prices are on the high side."

  • "We've enjoyed Meson Sabika a number of times. This time, we opted for an early (5 pm Saturday) dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary and I noted that in the reservation with a request to dine on the patio. The hostess was prepared and promptly seated us a couple tables away from the other tables, near the flower-lined wall -- a nice, quiet, romantic setting. (In the past, we've noted the indoor seating gets a bit noisy on a busy Saturday night). We had 5 tapas items ('shrooms, duck, pork, chicken and beef). They were all delicious - 'though the chicken was a bit dry) with great, complementary flavors. We had soft drinks. Bill: $55. The service was attentive without pushiness. The manager wished us a happy anniversary!"

  • "Food, Drink and Service were Amazing! Only complaint would be the noise level inside. We were lucky enough to get a seat outside on a beautiful night."

  • "The food is always consistent and delicious, great service by the entire staff, and a patio that transports you to someplace else. Going to Meson Sabika puts you in a great mood!"

  • "This is a great place to enjoy dinner with your girlfriends. Sit back, have a martini, order tapas that are delicious, and enjoy the night-sit outside, of course!"

  • "This is one of of the best places for outdoor dinning especially with a large group. Being able to share a variety of tapas and drinks that suits everyone's palette."

  • "had a great dinner and time with my boyfriend. food was fantastic and extremely delicious. we both enjoyed it very much. food came out at a timely manner, water was getting refill when needed, staff were mostly very attentive except our server whom forgot about us. noise was quite loud as well coming from other diner."

  • "We have been going here for years and never had a bad experience. Servers are always friendly and the food is ALWAYS excellent. Doesn't matter what you get - always good. Love the pork medallions and beef choices. Paella with shrimp worth the wait. Outside seating is pleasant as long as it's not too warm. Definitely a favorite"

  • "Loved the food and the feel of the place. A large well kept old mansion with a nice patio on a few acres. Beautiful."

  • "Delicious food at a great price. Great way to try out a number of delicious tapas dishes. My friend grew up in Spain and said this is as close to authentic as you will find in the area. Fabulous outdoor seating area, too."

  • "We enjoyed our experience once again. Such an excellent variety of choices. Service was good and everything came quickly and presented nicely."

  • "While there is a large variety of dishes to choose from, because the portions are small (tapas), you have to order many dishes and it can get pricey. If you're hungry, this might not be the place for you. I also found dining inside this restaurant to be very noisy. I've been here before and like the atmosphere outside on the patio, we just happened to be stuck inside this time because of rain. I'm not one of their fans"

  • "Excellent food! Great service, our first choice for a Saturday night out!"
    Dined on 6/21/2014
  • "If you go here, make sure to go with an open mind. Try the unique flavors. Most important, get the sangria. The whole night experience will get your significant other "in the mood.""

  • "An absolute gem of Naperville. Fantastic food, attentive staff, and the patio is a blast. The generosity of the owner toward educators and the community is the reason we go once a month. Love it!"

  • "Enjoyed the beautiful summer ambience and classic setup. The service was also friendly and courteous. Food: Paella mariscos was beautiful and tasty. Pulpo a la Feira was not what I had in Spain. Pincho de Pollo was tasty. Montaditos de Cerdo and Calamares a la Plancha could have been better. I missed Sopa de Ajo."

  • "This was our second year of going to Meson Sabika for Father's Day brunch. We love it! We had the pleasure of attending a wedding there this fall as well and the food was outstanding. We will be back again before the next Father's Day for sure! Highly recommend this restaurant."

  • "We were really impressed with the food and the service. Very tasty dishes promptly served by very friendly waiter. Would definitely come back!"
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "It's been many years since we were there last. It's charming but needs a face-lift. Started in the bar for a cocktail and the bar was beat to hell. Lamb and Pork were over cooked."
    Dined on 6/11/2014
  • "We felt the prices have gone up and portions have gotten noticeably smaller. The sangria now tastes like cheap red wine, no fruit juices with diced apple and lemon. The white was equally disappointing, more like moscato with chopped fruit. Favorites are no longer on the menu. Must ask for bread and the complimentary olives (tasty!) The dates and bacon however were better than ever. The coffee was lukewarm at best. Yes, it was a Saturday night, but this place has been in Naperville for years. In the future, if we want tapas we will drive to Emilio's in Hillside."
    Dined on 6/14/2014
  • "Visited after numerous recommendations and it was such a delight. The small plates were perfect and the service was outstanding; it's clear the staff is thoroughly familiar with the food. Also felt the price was spot on; had 5 small plates, 2 desserts & a (seemingly never-ending) pitcher of sangria for about $83 before tip. Do not leave without trying the bacon wrapped dates! The alaskan king crab and blue cheese dressed steak were our other favorites."

  • "It was really nice and food was good. The waitress even brought out a desert and candle. I had asked to be more private when reserving and they did put us by a window overlooking the grounds which was really nice. Overall really good experience."
