Meso Maya - Downtown DallasGreat food and atmosphere! This is not your typical Tex-Mex. Much better quality food. This is our second time and just as good as the first! Be sure to make a reservation on the weekends. The only complaint is that being a Saturday night and crowded, they served the entre faster than previously and before we had a chance to begin to finish our queso. It was obvious they were trying to turn the tables faster than 1 hour. Also, when I ordered a Mexican Martini (really good), the waiter said he usually does those on the rocks. If I wanted it on the rocks, I would have ordered it that way!5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMMy favorite new downtown restaurantThe food is fantastic, the service is phenomenal and the courtyard is the perfect setting for a great night out. Surprisingly affordable as well. Its place between the new Perot Museum and Klyde Warren Park ensure guests have plenty to do before or after their meal.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat double date!Brisket queso was amazing! Try it out! Margs and chips are great as well which is always key at a Mexican/TexMex restaurant!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAn outstanding placeMeso Mayo is one of the best restaurants in Dallas and Im happy they finally opened one close to uptown.
The food is creative but still very authentic, fresh and full of flavor. The service is very nice and fast.
Dont forget to try the avocado margarita :)5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMYummy Mexican foodWe love the flavors at Meso Maya - house made corn tortillas, lime, avocado, tender meats. They don't rely on heat or heavy amounts of cheese or fats for their flavor, just well made food with good tastes on their own. The salsa provided at the beginning of the meal has a roasted flavor and has been hot on some visits and a little milder on other ones. I highly recommend the tacos, but also the tortas are excellent.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA great addition in the burgeoningA great addition in the burgeoning Arts District in the sector near the fabulous new Perot Museum and across the freeway from downtown Dallas, Meso Maya is a lively venue with a gorgeous enclosed outdoor dining patio. Our second visit was just as good as our first, with wonderful chips and salsa, and a wide variety of Yucatan-based menu items and daily specials. Located in the building that formerly housed one of Dallas' oldest tortilla factories, Meso Maya is a good option pre-theater or pre-event. Just tell your waitperson if you have a curtain time.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMDining on the patio at Meso MayaMeso Maya is a delightful restaurant with a wonderful outdoor patio, delicious food and a warm and inviting wait staff. We loved the food, especially the Queso Fundido appetizer. The warm melted cheese is nothing like "queso" you get at a Tex-Mex restaurant. The white melted cheese is rich with sauted peppers, carmelized onions and chunks of flavorful chorizo. It is served in a little cast iron dish with warm corn tortillas. Yum! I could have eaten only that and been very happy!. Standout entrees included Cochinita Pibil and Budin Azteca de carne. Our waitress Abigail was great! Thanks for a great evening4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMOur group of six had a wonderfulOur group of six had a wonderful time. Got the patio table we requested on open tables for the six of us .4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMA Great Addition for DowntownWe loved it! Authentic moles, delicious food, tasty Margaritas, and great service despite the crowd mean we are looking forward to returning. The weather was perfect for patio seating. The hostess even followed through on turning the music down a tad. Nothing worse than not being able to hear your dining companions. I wish you the best. Meso Maya is a great addition for downtown.4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMVery satisfied. ExceptionalVery satisfied. Exceptional service, food and drinks. I've been a couple times, with a large party and as a date and it worke out incredibly well. Fast service with quality food and a great atmosphere... Can't really ask for much more than that.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a wonderful meal outsideWe had a wonderful meal outside in the courtyard. The service could not have been better, the food was very good and the setting lovely. My only note of caution is that, walking through the inside of the restaurant to get to the car, the noise level was more than energetic. People seemed to be enjoying themselves but if you prefer a quieter environment, try sitting outside.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent service and a greatExcellent service and a great menu. I've eaten here about 4-5 times, both at lunch and at dinner during the week. Everything I've tried has been good. The staff appears to be glad you are there, which is more than I can say about some restaurants. Love the beet salad!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond time daring here. FoodSecond time daring here. Food and service have been excellent.4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome food!It is hard to believe that this place is downtown. When you walk in the doors, it is easy to leave the day behind you and enjoy the great food and ambiance that is provided here. Be sure to try the avocado margarita!4/17/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoy An Evening on the PatioThe staff and service at Meso Maya is always spot on. Very helpful with menu selections anda great selection of must try cocktails. Welcome to the neighborhood Meso!!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMTry it!!!!I'm writing a review after two visits within a month. My husband, kids and I have had our longtime "go to" Mexican restaurants in DFW...never venturing out. It just happened that a month ago we were in the area of Meso Maya Downtown and decided to try it out... What a great find!!!!! Just took my husband's mother and aunt there who were visiting from out of town. I can't give this place enough positive comments...just love everything about it!! The patio is one of the best in the city...so serene and beautiful with well positioned TV's for sports! The service staff is amazing... in both of our visits our waiter was not obtrusive but so very helpful with suggestions! Try it...you won't be disappointed!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat ExperienceGreat experience, the food was wonderful. We particularly liked our server. He was the best we have had in a while.
We will be back.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI Found The Right Place This Time!My wife asked me to pick a restaurant to go to before we went to the Mint Condition concert. Now I usually let her pick the restaurant because she's a"Foodie" and I'm not. But reluctantly I decided to. The atmosphere was very pleasant and there weren't too many people due to it being early. So we asked to be seated on the patio which was done with no problem. Our hostess also recommended the avocado margarita, which my wife loved so much she had 2, and the Molotes. I had the Conchinita Pibil and my wife had the Carne Asada. I also had a La Flaca and a long Island Iced Tea. Needless to say we enjoyed ourselves VERY MUCH and will be returning! The best part was hearing my wife say "I picked a good one!"3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMTake your clients to Meso Maya!I have been to Meso Maya (often incorectly called Maya Mesa)for lunch 4 times. It has become a regular business lunch location for me and my team. Outstanding food and service are key to a good business lunch.3/26/2013 12:00:00 AMNice addition to Dallas, upscaleNice addition to Dallas, upscale Mexican without an outrageous price. Interesting food and drinks.3/22/2013 12:00:00 AMMeso Maya is an amazing restaurant!Meso Maya is an amazing restaurant! I checked out reviews from Yelp, TripAdvisor, and Open Table - and all had great things to say about this gem. But the experience was even better. From the avocado margaritas (think refreshing) to the sumptuous dishes - and then to the blueberry cake with Mexican ice cream, the dinner was fantastic. And yes, the plantains and carne asada were to die for!3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAuthentic Mexican cuisine in DallasAuthentic cuisine, Excellent Service, affordable prices - definitely worth trying. I had the best Chili Rellenos accompanied with incredible short ribs (not any fat whatsoever!!!) potatoes and white rice. Large portion! Enchiladas with beef brisket all the way through the enchilada - all meat that melts in the mouth. Affordable wines. Huge marguerite/Tequila and cocktail list and many beers by the bottle. Out door seating as well.3/15/2013 12:00:00 AMThey have perhaps the bestThey have perhaps the best salsa I have ever dipped a chip in! All the food was excellent. Although they have gourmet versions of enchiladas and the usual TexMex it is their more creative dishes that are the draw. Conchita pibil was my fav.3/9/2013 12:00:00 AMOur 1st Valentine's Day TogetherI chose Meso Maya from Open Table and all of the researched web reviews, to share our (my "new Suitor" and my) 1st Valentine's Day together. The restaurant surpassed any and all expectations I could ever have envisioned!!!
The waitstaff was OUTSTANDING and the food was plentiful; reasonably priced; and absolutely AMAZING!! Both of us are still having wonderful 'flashbacks' over a month later!! TNC P.S. - Try the seafood enchiladas with a top off of bread pudding....2/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
