A word from Mesa Restaurant
Please note that Mesa is a 21 and over establishment, Thank you!
"I can't think of another place in Orange County that has such an edgy look, eclectic crowd, and lusty food. Everybody loves a secret, and Mesa is a good one. Close your eyes and point at the one-page menu of small plates and you almost can't go wrong" Irene Virbila, LA Times

This place gets the bar vs. restaurant right. Lively bar scene, great food. Would be perfect for groups of 4 or more but was great for just my wife and I as well. We'd go back.

We didn't see our server or get water for about 15 minutes after were seated. The experience was bad. Chicken was dry. Very cool ambiance but not worth it for the price if you're looking for great service and great food.

Mesa is one of the most swanky, handsome, and hip places I've been in awhile. Very stylish and sleek, it has a cool, festive vibe, and truly some of the most flavorful, adventurous cuisine around. Everything was perfect except the service, only by our server, lacked. She was sweet and friendly, but practically ignored us while doting on other tables in her area, serving couples that came after us before our dishes arrived. At the end of the meal, we had to ask other wait staff three times for her to give us our check. She never came and we simply went to the maitre-de finally. We were told it was her second day; the assistant manager apologized sincerely and comped our meal, which was very gracious. I would certainly go again.

Well...maybe it would be ok if our server was cool and stopped taking our good before it was done or if she didn't disappear every time she left. Or if it wasn't so loud I that I couldn't hear myself think. A good spot got late night drinks...not catching up with old friends...cause you won't be able to hear them.

Mesa has the right mix - trendy enough, good food, well-priced wine, beautiful interior space, comfy seating for intimate groups. Love it.

Food was disappointing. Wine was warm. Dessert was just bad. Waitress unattentive and a little rude. Disappointing.

Good food but noise level is high, parking is also challenging and the restaurant sign is a little obscure, I drove in circles until I finally found it

Finally! - tried dinner for the first time at Mesa for my husband's birthday. Why didn't we do it sooner?! The place is excellent! Great service from the moment we walked in, to the end of the night! Our server was exta friendly & nice, giving us complimentary apple & 5 yr aged Gouda salads; another round of beer & ice cream sandwich dessert for my hubby. The roasted mussels were flavorful (on the small side); the short rib & gnocchi so delicious; the cauliflower Mac n' cheese is incredible! I had the 3-course Restaurant Week special - very good! The open skylight made the ambiance. My husband was very happy. It got very noisy by 9 pm, & a repetitive super model on all the monitors. That's the missing star for me. But I do love Mesa!

Happy hour is late - 7-8 PM - then the evening for them is just starting. Hip, great decor, open roof, live band, half price food & drinks - we had fun.

A friend recommended this place and we got really nervous when the place was empty when we walked in at 7...turns out it doesnt open until 7. The TVs around the booths were a little weird, but you want to sit in the center of the restaurant anyway under the retractable roof. Fantastic food and great drink menu. We are definitely going back!

Way too loud. I felt like I was yelling to talk to my friends (who weren't even across the table but seated right next to me). Took forever to get our second round of drinks. Overpriced for overall quality. Pawned off a table for two when I had a reservation for three. I suppose that was partially our fault for accepting it...but it shouldn't have been offered to us in the first place. My friend was eating on the corner of the table.

We have waited too long to try Mesa and can't wait to go back. We love sharing small plates and the five that we had were outstanding and done exceptionally well using flavors that put them over the top. The service was also noteworthy. We also like to dine late and the full menu is served until 11 PM. The late night menu served until 1 AM is the same with a few omissions, leaving plenty of choices. This will be a go to place for us after performances in Costa Mesa and Irvine; we can have a leisurely meal after without having to rush before the kitchen closes.

I reserved a table to have dinner here. The ambiance is nice, but very loud. Our waitress showed up twice the whole time we were there. Later that night we were bothered by drunk people who were sitting next to us. We didn't want any problems so we decided to leave. It was very unfortunate that my friend and I had to leave because of low class, drunk people. Is not a place that I would recommend.

Quick review here. First time attending Mesa though i've been to some of the other "Lab/Anti-Mall" establishments(Habana, etc.). Valet parking was easy enough when my girl and I arrived. Greeted immediately by the hostess and our reservation was waiting for us. We were seated in a booth not under the retractable roof, but closer to the bar which was perfect since we wanted more privacy than the other areas would have afforded. Our server was very attentive and friendly and eager to make our dining experience a great one. The drinks that the female bartender made were amazing and she even came over to the table once to make my favorite drink of the evening on the spot(amazing!!). Food was great as well. Thanks Mesa! Will be back for sure.
