Mesa GrillAttentive and funI was there with a group of 9. we were promptly seated at round table that was comfortable and tucked in a corner. The service was first rate. from the first impression as I walked in and was greeted with a friendly smile to our server who was attentive, knowledgable and added to our whole dinner. We were even visited by the general manager. Mesa has been a staple here for over 20 years and continues to Wow all of our senses.5/13/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciousThe food was delicious. The meal was different, delicious, and fun. Service was excellent! I'll definitely be back!5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMHappy BirthdayThis was our first time here. We went for my wife’s Birthday. From the time we walked in the door until we left everyone was very nice and helpful to us. Nice clean bar and nice people behind the bar to serve you. When we did sit for dinner the table was nice, roomy and a nice view. Our server was Nicole, very nice young lady, answered all our questions and did not push you to order, she gave us lots of time. When the food came it great tasted and looked very nice on the dish. For the main meal I did go with Nicole’s suggestion, and I'm very happy I did. We had dessert and on the side of the dish they had written Happy Birthday.5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding sauces and flavors.

The Churro desert is something you would never make at home.5/8/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a wonderful time! OurHad a wonderful time! Our server was great, the food was exceptional! It was a nice way to end our trip to New York City. It definitely lived up to the hype!5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMSymphonies of flavorWe LOVED Mesa Grill. As our thing for Cinco de Mayo we decided to give Mesa a try. We were extremely pleased and satisfied with the food and the service. Our waiter was very helpful in helping us make choices, esp with the margaritas since they have one standard margarita recipe but their extensive selection of tequilas are what make each margarita unique. I really liked that. I had their pork tenderloin with a maple pecan tamale. Wow. So good. My date had the steak with a jalapeno paste tamale which was divine. Each dish came with a sauce that accompanied the meats. The sauces had flavors that kept changing and hitting you at different times with each bite and the meats were so tender. We topped off our meal with the churros. Mmm!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDowntown Restaurant for FoodiesI have been to Mesa Grill many times. I recommended my date and I go here. He has never been. He loved it. It is definitely my "go to" restaurant when I'm in the City. I had fresh tuna and it was delicious. Cooked perfectly. My date had the ribeye and the first bite he rolled his eyes and said omg, this is delicious. The dessert menu didn't set us on fire, so we skipped dessert. It is definitely worth going back.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMVeg selectionGreat restaurant - good food but very little choice for vegetarians and chef not very accomodative to make some adjustments to the existing dishes from the menu. If only that liitle bit extra can be accomodated then l am sure it will also be first choice for the vegetarians. Do not forget that day by day there are more people turning vegetarians. Good and attentive service5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a big treat!Never miss eating at the Mesa Grill when we visit New York! Love the food and the experience. Never disappoints.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMProbably the best food I'veProbably the best food I've ever eaten. I had the Sunday dinner and my daughter had the grilled chicken. I loved all the food on my plate, but my favorite was the grilled potato salad. We had been walking all over NYC, and were exhausted and foot-sore. Mesa Grill was a perfect place to revive and to eat great food. We really liked our waiter also.4/28/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat nightLoved the food and the service was impeccable! Dessert was also a must have!4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMBobby Flay doesn't disappointIron Chef Bobby Flay's New York restaurant does not disappoint. I've been here three times now (Saturday brunch, weeknight dinner and weekday lunch), and the food is spectacular. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Also, they have an excellent selection of premium tequilas that make for a great margarita. I should note, I am typically not a big margarita fan, but I ordered one even for Saturday brunch.4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was out of this world. The food was out of this world. The pork tenderloin was the best I've ever had, tender with wonderful, flavorful sauce. Try the coconut line margarita, it is heaven. And the mashed potatoes with green chile sauce were decadent. Great service. She had suggestions when our decisions lagged and, tips on how she liked to eat some of our choices. For example, she suggested that I drag the churro across both types of dipping sauces ! :-)4/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWhile the tuna appetizer wasWhile the tuna appetizer was fantastic, the tuna entree was so-so at best; dry and uninspired. The other entrees were excellent though. Well worth another visit.4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMSecond trip and the flavorSecond trip and the flavor from the food still explodes!4/15/2013 12:00:00 AMAlways a Hit!This is my third time eating at Mesa Grill and I have never had a bad experience. I took my 13 year old niece to NYC for a birthday weekend. We had a wonderful dinner and she hasn't stopped talking about it yet!! We had the Queso Fundido to start and it is out of this world, melted cheese with a spicy sauce on top that has just the right amount of kick. We shared the Strip Steak, which was cooked exactly to our liking and comes with the most delicious Mesa sauce to dip the steak in. We also shared the sauteed spinach and mashed potatoes. We ended the meal with a carrot cake cookie sandwich with walnut ice cream and covered with brandy soaked pineapples. Fantastic from beginning to end!4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was my first time atThis was my first time at this restaurant and the food/service was very good.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was awesome.... speciallyIt was awesome.... specially the bakery special... everything was perfect4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMYour tastebuds will thank you! There ar simply no words, the food was delectable. We had great service and ambiance and the dinner was wonderful.4/9/2013 12:00:00 AMExceeded Expectations! This was our first trip to New York and we HAD to come check out Mesa. We had 5:00 reservations on a Monday. Out hostesses were friendly and quick to greet us. We were taken to our table right away, which I thought was in a great spot. Our server was attentive and friendly. We asked for suggestions on drinks for local flavor and gave us wine and margarita options. The margaritas were nice and strong! Our water was topped off constantly and we were checked on nicely. The food was Out. Of. This. World. Our party got the duck, the ribeye, and the salmon. Portions were huge especially for the price. The ribeye was tender
and just melted! We all felt it wasn't spicy for the sake of being spicy, but just crazy layers of season and flavor.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMSo good, I went twice in theSo good, I went twice in the same week. First night I sat at the bar before my guest arrived. It was not very inviting or social, more of a "know your group" kind of atmosphere, but when I got to my table the waiter and supporting staff was excellent, and this was on a busy Friday night. I came back with a group on the following Monday, and I was hooked. I am from out of town and yea, I am rememberable in that I am gregarious, and a "presence".but in a city of NYC, I would not expect me to be that noticeable, however, the hostess, and the bartender, both remembered me from a Friday night service. I found that very welcoming and inviting. Waiter & Mngtmt was even better than Friday. Love you guys. Oh yea. Food Kicked A**...4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI been waiting to get hereI been waiting to get here for a while. It didn't disappoint. I appreciated the attention the server gave us. We had 6 people in our party. He gave each of us recommendations based on our questions. The Skirt Steak was wonderful. I'm from Chicago. Appreciate a great steak. The chicken was very good. They had a wonderful appetizer with cheese and peppers of some sort. Everyone walkd away happy.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was our second visitThis was our second visit to Mesa Grill. It was the first time we went for brunch. Everything was fantastic. You expect that from Bobby Flay's flagship restaurant. We definitely over ordered, is the portions were very generous the variety of four different breads that preceded the meal was unbelievable. We each had a salad or appetizer, each of which was more than enough to be a meal. The entrees were a wonderful mix of spicy Savery that often sweet. Everybody wanted to try dessert, but we were so full, and we had to catch our matinee, that we had to skip it. We did buy the Mesa Grill cookbook, and the next night we made two of the dishes. They were fun to make and they were fantastic. I highly recommend Mesa Grill.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was fantastic. WaiterFood was fantastic. Waiter was phenomanol! Ambience was nice. Would definitely return again!4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMHigh expectations well exceededWe came with high expectations as it was our first time to NYC and we've been big Bobby Flay fans for many years. Mesa Grill did not disappoint! The server was friendly and chatted with us a bit about the city and Bobby, and was helpful in recommending the salted caramel toffee cake for dessert, which was excellent. Our margaritas were delicious, and the queso fundido that we had for an appetizer was absolute perfection! Our entrees were very tasty as well, and the pace of the meal was perfect. The only thing that would have made it better would have been to have run into Mr. Flay himself.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMDelightful dinner @ MesaThe staff at Mesa is usually snobby but our server this trip was an exception. I can't say enough about how friendly he was and how welcome he made us feel. This, of course, encouraged us to spend more than we would have. Since the food was excellent it was a win-win situation. The fundido and shrimp tacos were wonderful - great appetizers in perfect presentations. The jalapeno taco was very doughy but tasty and the salmon and pork entrees were perfect - excellent quality and flavoring, unique and delicious. Cocktails were great - - peach margarita was strong but very flavorful, mescal flight was not over-priced and tasted great. We had lots of fun and definitely plan on going back.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMAwesome experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner experience and consider it to be one of our top meals during our vacation. The food was amazing, but even more so, we felt the service was excellent. Our waiter seemed very knowledgeable about the menu and provided additional insight of entrees and cocktails to be sure that we knew what we were ordering and that our expectations were in line with what we would be receiving. Service was very prompt and all staff were friendly.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food was great. PortionsThe food was great. Portions were a bit small but flavors were great and presentation impressive. Our server was wonderful.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMI like the casual ambienceI like the casual ambience of Mesa Grill. We were seated promptly, even though we were early. Along with jalapeno cornbread in the bread basket, the sweet pecan cake was delicious with the slightly spicy pepper jelly condiment. I ordered the sweet potato soup for an appetizer. It was intensely sweet. After a few bites, it became almost unbearable. While we enjoyed it, the Gala Apple Salad is for people who love bleu cheese. I had a hamburger for my entree. It was well-seasoned, and I liked it very much. No mustard needed. The Coconut Cake was, for me, the best part. The cake was moist and light and the toasted coconut crust added a perfect texture.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was seasoned perfectly.Food was seasoned perfectly. Portion size for appetizers and desserts were not meant to share as they were quite small. Glad we tried it but would probably not go back.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMA must go! Perfect for FoodiesThis restaurant is a must go! When we first entered I do have to say that the hostess could have been a bit more friendlier. Don't get me wrong, she definitely did her job, but had a certain face on as if she was upset about something. She checked our coats, and just had this attitude. Took us to our table, but then we were greeted by the sweetest waitress! Ordered the shrimp corn tamales, absolutley to die for soooooo good! Definitley a foodie loving moment with that one. Had a coconut lime margarita, savored that drink. Then I ordered the New York Strip steak. That actually came by itself. No veggies or mashed potatoes. I was a bit dissapointed how we had to order sides. Got french fries. Great experience! Kind of Expensive.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMIt was terrific. The foodIt was terrific. The food and staff were outstanding. It was noisy, however the staff did not rush us so by evenings end, the noise was not an issue.3/30/2013 12:00:00 AMBobby Flay's Mesa Grill isBobby Flay's Mesa Grill is a fantastic restaurant. We have been there 4 times and the food and service have always been excellent. We highly recommend dining there. I had the apple salad and my wife had the mushroom Quesadilla. I had the Artic Char Friday night special and my wife had the tuna. All of the food was terrific. Service was professional and the prices are reasonable for NYC and a top notch restaurant.

The depth of flavors across the southwest seasonings are spectacular.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMfood was excellent. servicefood was excellent. service was friendly, relaxed, accommodating.3/28/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed our experienceWe really enjoyed our experience at Mesa Grill! We sat next to a very energetic table from New Jersey. We are from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada so we chatted away like we were one big table. They were so much fun. Additionally, they thought they had met Bobby's brother which turned out to be a hoax. We all loved our meals and shared our experiences and recommendations. Bobby popped by for a quick visit too. What a great holiday experience. Special mention goes to our waiter - great recommendations for my gluten free diet, great smile and so personable!3/27/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food and Exceptional Service.I visited Mesa Grill for a weekday lunch with my wife while on holiday in NY. I had heard of it many times before and been waiting ten years to come, so our expectations were high. Loved the layout of the restaurant and casual yet elegant ambience. The food was beautifully seasoned and cooked, although the rib-eye steak I ordered was overcooked. Upon informing the staff, the manager apologised on behalf of the chef and offered a bowl of sweet potato soup while a fresh steak was made. The soup was a little sweet for my taste but very well done. The replacement steak was perfectly cooked and worth every penny.Highly recommended for great food, but moreso the exceptional service, a far cry from restaurants in London where we live.3/27/2013 12:00:00 AM
