"We decided to try Merriman's for lunch while we were on Hawaii, because it is in Waimea, which was too far from where we were staying to go for dinner. Lunch is much less expensive. The food is well prepared, beautifully served, but the portions are smaller than I would have expected, particularly the salad, which was about a dozen leaves of very tasty local lettuce."

"It's my wife's favorite restaurant and it's a must-go when we are on the Big Island. We love the pork quesadillas and the fresh fish is a must! They also make a great Mai tai!"

"The food was good, the waitress professional, but she didn't put in our appetizer order and didn't realize it until the entrees were ready. I don't know what is standard when serving French press coffee, but it was served in such a way that the coffee and the grounds spilled all over the table when poured."
