Meriwether'sA favorite spot for a nice lunchMeriwether's is a great place to meet for a business lunch - or when meeting up with a friend. The ambiance is quite nice, and it's set up in a way you are able to carry on a conversation knowing others are not be bothered by, or listening to your conversation. The wait staff are typically attentive, but not intrusive.
Though I've never been there for a romantic dinner, I can see where it would be a good place for one.
The food is very good, and there is a nice selection for all tastes. Wishing we had an equivalent in Grand Rapids (Charlie's Crab not at the same level). This most recent visit with a dinner with clients. The waitress suggested a wine (given the couple we were considering) and the level of attentiveness was right on -- glasses never empty, but no noticed hovering either. The spinach salad is the best, as are the sweet potatoes. Much is good on the menu which we have tried over the past 20 years. The food was quite good. The cole slaw was bland but the fish and chips were cooked perfectly. The New England Clam Chowder soup was delicious. I booked it for an Easter Lunch/early dinner for two reasons: it was conveniently located, and I did not want a brunch buffet. However, you never know how a restaurant will be on a special holiday. I was very very happy with the entire meal experience. The waitstaff was great - friendly and efficient. The food came out fairly quickly. They seemed to be fully staffed and well versed in taking care of a constant stream of customers all day long and didn't miss a beat!
