A word from Meriwether's Restaurant & Skyline Farm
One way to make sure you’re cooking with the freshest ingredients is to grow them yourself. Meriwether’s grows the produce it serves at its own Skyline Farm and is proud to be among only a handful of truly farm-to-table restaurants across the country. Chef Dolan Lane's menus are inspired by the Willamette Valley’s peak-of-the-season abundance, matching our harvest with some of the finest raw ingredients in the world, from the farmers, fishers and ranchers of the Pacific Northwest.

Inside, experience our warm and cozy ambiance with stone fireplaces, hardwood floors, stained glass and copper accents. Outside, guests dine year-round in the covered, heated & enclosed patio, gardens & gazebo. There is even an outdoor fire-pit, so perfect for a chilly Portland evening. Take a walk through our gorgeous all-season garden that surrounds the entire 2601 Vaughn Street historic building.

Had a gift certificate for Meriwether's, which is good because it is VERY expensive! The food was excellent, but serving sizes for the pantry board are such that they're difficult to share. But excellent food and service! We were originally seated outside on a cool, rainy night. They had space heaters, but the metal chairs were very cold, and the heaters weren't enough to make it comfortable. I asked if we could be moved inside, and they acccommodated us immediately.

I love the cozy feel of the bar and dining room – like having a drink by the fire in a friends home. I will definitely be back to try Happy Hour and brunch. The steamed NW mussels were amazing - I've never had pork belly in the broth. The grilled pork chop with chanterelle mushrooms was full of flavor and perfectly tender. My boyfriend loved the NY steak. Service was prompt, but not rushed, as well as very helpful and friendly. Wine list was extensive, but not overwhelming. Appreciated the personal touch!

My wife & I are huge fans of Meriwether's in general but I've taken them to task before for having poor quality service at lunch (versus great at dinner). I met a business compatriot, new to Meriwether's, there for lunch earlier this week and Meriwether's staff did a fabulous job. They were funny, competent and attentive without being intrusive. As usual, the food was excellent. The food business is tough so kudos to Meriwether's to taking constructive feedback and putting it to good use.

Even with a reservation we waited over 30 minutes before we even got seated. What's the point of a reservation? It was an hour between us arriving and getting any food. Not acceptable. The food was good, but not great. The outdoor area is lovely though the heater they have is either blasting so hot that everyone is sweating, or off and people are putting their coats on. Seems like Meriweathers need to invest in a thermostat. Overall a disappointing experience for what was a special occasion.

My two girlfriends and I had brunch for the first time at Meriwether's and just loved it from start to finish! Beautiful building inside and out with an even more beautiful menu. They offer an affordable yet high end cuisine with great cocktails! I had the chicken and waffles with apple compote and ate every bite, even though I was so full! I just couldn't let it go! My friends had the Beneditcts, one with Oregon crab and one vegetarian and both were tasty treats! Looking forward to more dining experiences at Meriwether's!

This place is a gem. Classy and quiet, it's a "grown up" restaurant that would be great for a date or quiet dinner with friends. The service is well paced but not overbearing. The food and drinks were amazing. We will definitely be back!

We heard the food was terrific, and we were not disappointed. Everything was excellent. I don't recommend eating at 5pm, they were geared up for the bar, but the dining room doesn't take off until much later. Still, the attention to detail of the food never wavered.

Ate at Meriwether's tonight, our dinner was delicious. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and the manager, sat on the patio which was beautiful. Ordered from the Pantry, the dates stuffed with gorgonzola... or "Oregonzola" as they call it, were to die for! My husband had the Bouillabaisse which he said was excellent, I had the soup of the day, a delicious Cauliflower with Gruyere cheese - heaven!! Great blood orange Cosmo, and home made cookies for dessert. The only disappointment... We live in San Diego so won't be able to eat at Meriwether's on a regular basis. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Portland.

Meriweather's is only a short cab ride from downtown Portland between 26th & 27th Streets and it is most definitely worth the ride. The entire staff couldn't do enough for us. Although they had us booked for a round-top indoors, when we asked if we could dine in the outdoor patio, although no tables were available for a party of 5, they unexpectedly made it happen! and they were genuinely pleased to do so... The farm fresh food was absolutely delicious, They raise much of it on their own farm a short distance away. The garden patio ambiance was pleasing, relaxing, and beautifully landscaped. The wait staff was very knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. There's much more to say, but it all comes down to "Meriweather's is fabulous!"

I haven't been here a ton, maybe three times at this point but each time I go I'm reminded of how beautiful the garden seating is. I've been to the farm for a tour and love having that additional connection to the restaurant and the food I eat there. Always good service. Perfect spot for casual outdoor seating, small groups or a brunch spot where you don't have to wait an hour.

Meriwether's has a new chef - probably yet to be proven. Result: major change in menu. What was once a menu of variety of dishes, good preparation, is now a menu of the ordinary, and not very good ordinary. We were encouraged to sit outside, an area I like and that makes this restaurant special. But it was far to chilly to be there without heaters. I was almost shivering by the time we left. Because we were late lunch diners, servers were busy with dinner set up and it was a struggle to get dessert.

Loved the ambiance and such a surprise to find it in that location of Portland. Server was very nice just a tad slow but would I would rather have that, than to feel like I was being rushed to vacate the table. Food was very good but I do feel it is slightly over-priced. However, I do plan to return and try breakfast!

Three orders of celebratory pre-lunch Processco called for a tidbit for empty stomachs. There being none, I asked if we might have something - bread? It was $3.50! A small bowl of nuts, on the house, would have been more appropriate to the situation - and to the bill of almost $100.

Paying $14 for a tomato salad? So it's not as horribly priced as Gaucho, but expect to pay $100 per person for starter, entree, dessert, alcohol and tip. Food was good, service great. Did not appreciate sitting in the bar, but didn't ask to move as some other guests chose to do.

It was our anniversary so I splurged and went with the tenderloin steak over fingerling potatoes and kale. It was the most expensive entree on the menu and, sad to say, I left very disappointed. The steak was small and tough (hard to do with tenderloin!), the potatoes were undercooked and crunchy, and the Kale was a salty mess. I was expecting a lot more from Meriwether's after having some wonderful brunch experiences here. I'm bummed they disappointed this trip...

I love Meriwether's. We were under the canopy though, and noticed that the noise level is much lower out from under it. So next time, I would ask for that, weather permitting. Also there was someone really obnoxious who laid into his car horn for a remarkable length of time, repeatedly, in the parking lot adjacent to our seats, that evening. But I recognize that there are jerks everywhere, and somehow (probably thru good intervention on the part of the staff) the horn stopped.

When I pay top dollar for an entree, I expect more food on my plate than just the piece of meat. As my husband said, we just paid a lot of money to go home hungry. There should be more accompanying the entree. My filet was excellently prepared for the few pieces of purple potatoes accompanying it were undercooked and not very edible.
