A word from Meriwether's Restaurant & Skyline Farm
One way to make sure you’re cooking with the freshest ingredients is to grow them yourself. Meriwether’s grows the produce it serves at its own Skyline Farm and is proud to be among only a handful of truly farm-to-table restaurants across the country. Chef Dolan Lane's menus are inspired by the Willamette Valley’s peak-of-the-season abundance, matching our harvest with some of the finest raw ingredients in the world, from the farmers, fishers and ranchers of the Pacific Northwest.

Inside, experience our warm and cozy ambiance with stone fireplaces, hardwood floors, stained glass and copper accents. Outside, guests dine year-round in the covered, heated & enclosed patio, gardens & gazebo. There is even an outdoor fire-pit, so perfect for a chilly Portland evening. Take a walk through our gorgeous all-season garden that surrounds the entire 2601 Vaughn Street historic building.

I have eaten at Meriwether's Restaurant numerous times. I am always happy with the food, wine, and service. Having been recently diagnosed with celiac disease I was quite happy to see that gluten free items are identified on the menu. And the risotto that I had was quite good. I will return here many more times.

The pasta was out of this world and I don't typically like pasta - honestly I took a bite from my friend and then finally took the plate. The share plates were out of this world - particularly the lamb riblets. Everything was truly delicious, right down to the giant crouton with the bouillabaisse (which I also managed to sneak a bite of) :)

I invited four friends and booked a table for five with Open Table at Merriweather's. They had a table waiting for us and we were very pleased with the selection of Cocktails & the Brunch Menu. We all enjoyed our selections. Great fresh vegetables. Our server was friendly and we had a great time. Love this place, summer and winter. Always easy to park in their lot next to their restaurant.

We had been to Merriweather's a couple of times previously and wanted to take our visitor to a nice place for brunch. We had enjoyed the food before as well as the atmosphere. This time, however, one person wasn't brought a spoon or milk with her granola and we had to wait a bit for the waiter to come back to our table for her to even ask for them, let alone bring them to the table. She loves granola but this time she said it tasted almost stale. I ordered the huevos rancheros with mole and I thought the food was very bland and not much flavor to it. Our friend did enjoy her eggs with mushrooms and our parents did enjoy their Belgian waffles but they both said "they were nothing to write home about". So overall the food was average to almost below average considering this was a nice cute place for brunch.

Meriwether's is reliable and consistent. The quality of the food itself is excellent, and preparation is consistently good. A few dishes are excellently prepared, but none of the presentations are unique or totally unexpected so I can't give the food an excellent. I think the restaurant's unique approach to farm to fork is creative. The ambiance appeals to me because I can hear my dinner companions well and can 'tuck into' the conversation along with the food. However, I've had the bad luck (and failure to be as assertive as I ought and ask for a change) to be seated at the table near the kitcen entrance a number of times where the kitchen noise and server activity is distracting.

This neighborhood gem is one of the friendliest spots to dine in Portland. Well worth the drive from downtown, once there you feel far away from the frenetic pace of life. The food is always creative, locally sourced, and perfectly prepared and presented. The service is excellent and the pricing is appropriate.

... seat an advance dinner reservation in the bar. The food and service was as good as it usually is - I've returned to this restaurant a number of times. But, this time, my party (two of us) were seated for dinner in the bar rather than the comfortable dining room. Meriwether's has a nice bar, but we didn't wish to spend our quiet dinner together with a television flashing over our heads nor surrounded by bar patrons meeting up and moving about nonstop. I'm not sure why we had to be seated in the bar... perhaps they were over booked?

My family celebrated my birthday with a brunch at Meriwether's. It is located between where my husband & I live and where our 2 daughters and their husbands live, so - perfect location for both of us to meet! The brunch menu had something for all of us to choose and enjoy! Plus, we had the best fresh squeezed orange juice to start with! Additionally, one daughter had a hazelnut cafe latte, the other had tea, spouses had a bloody 'Meri'. In other words, we all came away happy and full of ever-so-good brunch food! Thank you Meriwether's! Really grateful!

I had a poached and deep fried duck egg over a bed of leafy greens and mushrooms drizzled with oily butter. This dish was new to me and reasonably tasty. But I felt the drizzle of butter was more of a down pour and the mushrooms were swimming in it like carp in the lilly pads. A little butter lubricates the taste buds. Too much seems like a slippery slope to clogged arteries. But the ambiance and service were conducive to a pleasant lunch and quiet conversation which were to me as important as the food. I'll certainly give it another try.

I have eaten at Merriwethers five times in the past seven years: once for brunch, twice for lunch and twice for dinner. I have enjoyed all of my dining experiences but the most recent one hit it out of the park. The new chef has made the food even better. I don't remember anything about the service I received the first four times ... nothing to complain about ... but Adam will be remembered for being friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. His recommendations hit the nail on the head. We will return.

Had a gift certificate for Meriwether's, which is good because it is VERY expensive! The food was excellent, but serving sizes for the pantry board are such that they're difficult to share. But excellent food and service! We were originally seated outside on a cool, rainy night. They had space heaters, but the metal chairs were very cold, and the heaters weren't enough to make it comfortable. I asked if we could be moved inside, and they acccommodated us immediately.

I love the cozy feel of the bar and dining room – like having a drink by the fire in a friends home. I will definitely be back to try Happy Hour and brunch. The steamed NW mussels were amazing - I've never had pork belly in the broth. The grilled pork chop with chanterelle mushrooms was full of flavor and perfectly tender. My boyfriend loved the NY steak. Service was prompt, but not rushed, as well as very helpful and friendly. Wine list was extensive, but not overwhelming. Appreciated the personal touch!

My wife & I are huge fans of Meriwether's in general but I've taken them to task before for having poor quality service at lunch (versus great at dinner). I met a business compatriot, new to Meriwether's, there for lunch earlier this week and Meriwether's staff did a fabulous job. They were funny, competent and attentive without being intrusive. As usual, the food was excellent. The food business is tough so kudos to Meriwether's to taking constructive feedback and putting it to good use.

Even with a reservation we waited over 30 minutes before we even got seated. What's the point of a reservation? It was an hour between us arriving and getting any food. Not acceptable. The food was good, but not great. The outdoor area is lovely though the heater they have is either blasting so hot that everyone is sweating, or off and people are putting their coats on. Seems like Meriweathers need to invest in a thermostat. Overall a disappointing experience for what was a special occasion.

My two girlfriends and I had brunch for the first time at Meriwether's and just loved it from start to finish! Beautiful building inside and out with an even more beautiful menu. They offer an affordable yet high end cuisine with great cocktails! I had the chicken and waffles with apple compote and ate every bite, even though I was so full! I just couldn't let it go! My friends had the Beneditcts, one with Oregon crab and one vegetarian and both were tasty treats! Looking forward to more dining experiences at Meriwether's!

Ate at Meriwether's tonight, our dinner was delicious. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and the manager, sat on the patio which was beautiful. Ordered from the Pantry, the dates stuffed with gorgonzola... or "Oregonzola" as they call it, were to die for! My husband had the Bouillabaisse which he said was excellent, I had the soup of the day, a delicious Cauliflower with Gruyere cheese - heaven!! Great blood orange Cosmo, and home made cookies for dessert. The only disappointment... We live in San Diego so won't be able to eat at Meriwether's on a regular basis. Will definitely be back on our next visit to Portland.

Meriweather's is only a short cab ride from downtown Portland between 26th & 27th Streets and it is most definitely worth the ride. The entire staff couldn't do enough for us. Although they had us booked for a round-top indoors, when we asked if we could dine in the outdoor patio, although no tables were available for a party of 5, they unexpectedly made it happen! and they were genuinely pleased to do so... The farm fresh food was absolutely delicious, They raise much of it on their own farm a short distance away. The garden patio ambiance was pleasing, relaxing, and beautifully landscaped. The wait staff was very knowledgeable, courteous, and friendly. There's much more to say, but it all comes down to "Meriweather's is fabulous!"
