"This was the fourth time I have been to this restaurant, and although I've never loved it before, this was the final straw and will be the last time that I will be going to Meritage. I figured I should try something new if I hadn't liked my food much on the previous three occasions. The salmon dish I had was incredibly greasy and almost inedible. The chef recommends medium-rare, but I asked for medium and it was still a greasy, mushy mess. I absolutely do not recommend that dish. Our waitress was also a little pushy, though she did bring us more of their delicious rolls, which was nice."

"too many tables in the dining room make it difficult for the diners and the waiters to get around easily, and the waiters could have been more attentive. some food items were absolutely delicious (squid, mussels, duck breast), but others were unexceptional (salad with chicken confit and butternut squash). generally a mixed bag."

"This restaurant is one of my favorites in Philadelphia. The dining rooms are intimate but, unlike many city restaurants, you do not feel like the people at the next table are actually at YOUR table. The hardwood floors lend to an energetic volume but I usually don't mind it. The escargot was remarkable. The most tender I've ever had. I enjoyed the kale chips even though my dining companion did not. There are vegan options which I enjoy on a menu. Even though I am a seafood consumer,I often opt out for a veggie offering. I had the scallops with black truffle and they were phenomenal. Anne Coll is an absolute star in her kitchen."

"Imaginative, although somewhat limited menu with dishes well prepared and beautifully presented. Good wine selection. The waiter allows you to taste something you never had before and gladly brings you something else if your not happy. Desserts were wonderful."

"the 2 appetizers we tried were not good- greasy fried, no taste- curry dip was just mayo based- chick peas no taste. The main meal was better- but small portions- the squash was just a "smear" - not even a spoonful! Too pricey for too little food! Not enough veggies."
