MeridianFirst visitWe are a group of 6 that dine out every month, we all vary in age but enjoy good food and wine.
On first arrival the valet parking was a nice surprise and then entering Meridian the atmosphere was one of calm and professional.
The menu was amazing and we had a really hard time just choosing, we all said we needed to come back to have the other choices.
The staff were very professional and we appreciated several waiters serving on our table.
All in all a great find and one that will for a long time be on our top list.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMMeridian is a great restaurant.Meridian is a great restaurant. Food preparation is unique and it changes frequently enough to be exciting when ever you visit. The new chef is slowly changing the menu to be his own. Several items still remain because of patron demand.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMOasis in Mid-MeridianI have had a couple business lunches here with people who work downtown while I work and live on the NW side. The chicken enchiladas are very good and a perfect lunch size.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent menu which had options,Excellent menu which had options, all of which sounded incredible, thus making it hard to choose. However, all choices made by the four of us dining were great choices as the selections did not dissapoint. Our waiter was also very knowledgeable of the menu and the preparation of the food and so guided us through the menu well.
Great experience all around.5/17/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was good but pricy. WeFood was good but pricy. We spent over $100 for one appetizer and two entrees - and had only one drink - no wine. You can have better food at comparable restaraunts in Indy (Recess / Room Four) and spend alot less.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMgreatwell service was outstanding the server(matt) was excellent and well versed in the menu and wine choices . I HAD THE VENISON IT WAS FANTASTIC MY WIFE THE HALIBUT THAT I WOULD RECOMMEND HIGHLY . WE WERE CELEBRATING OUR DAUGHTERS GRADUATION FROM BUTLER UNI MATT REALLY WENT OUT OF HIS WAY TO MAKE IT A GREAT NIGHT . THE VALET SERVICE WAS GREAT ALSO5/10/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat restaurant with greatGreat restaurant with great food. Definitely worth a try.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was great but a bit onFood was great but a bit on the skimpy side for portions for the price.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMContinued excellent eatingContinued excellent eating experience at this neighborhood restaurant and bar.4/19/2013 12:00:00 AMNew chef has talent but itNew chef has talent but it starting to alienate "regulars" by taking favorites off of the menu. He needs to stay in touch with his diners.4/13/2013 12:00:00 AMI highly recommend the venison.I highly recommend the venison. It was a spectacular dish. Also, the Brussels Sprouts were some of the best I've ever had. We also tried the potato gnocchi appetizer, apple & candied walnut bibb salad, and the ribeye special. Everything was excellent, but the ribeye just didn't stand up to the savory and complex venison.
It's pricey, but I really appreciate being able to go out to a restaurant with an executive chief that is putting out good, interesting food.4/8/2013 12:00:00 AMI had never bento the "Meridian"I had never bento the "Meridian" but found ti to be delightful. We had the best waiter in the world. He really know the menu and the food. He had great choices and he wasn't wrong. We had a great time and would certainly go back and take others with us.4/7/2013 12:00:00 AMThough the menu is a bit small,Though the menu is a bit small, they offer wonderful options. My wife and I each started with the soup (hers was the smoked corn, mine was the yam bisque) and both were excellent. My entree was the pork chop (double cut) and it was great. The cider sauce with it was the perfect companion to it. My wife had a salad and a side dish (I believe the potatoes au gratin) for her meal. She seemed happy with her selection. All-in-all, Meridian is a great place to go prior to attending a show at Clowes Hall or any other night out.4/4/2013 12:00:00 AMWe had a great experienceWe had a great experience at Meridian. The food was great, our server was very knowledgeable, and it didn't hurt that Wednesdays are half price wine night! It was our first time and it probably won't be our last!4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMsecond trip in a weekThis was the second time in a week I'd been to Meridian which is one of my favorites. The beet appetizer and the crab cake appetizer were wonderful as was the bibb salad. Entrees were pretty good. I had the leg of lamb which was amazingly tender but the taste was not as good as I'd hoped for. My dinner companion had the duck which had changed dramatically from the last time I'd seen it ordered and I felt it was not as good. Nothing was bad, however and the service was spectacular. We had a great bottle of wine as well.4/3/2013 12:00:00 AMWonderful spot for memorable dinnerI love this place. We were there on Tuesday to celebrate my wife's birthday with our youngest son and my wife's sister -- aside from the great service and delightful food that I've come to expect there, I was ASTONISHED that Jonathan (the waiter we had 5 months ago for our wedding anniversary dinner) not only remembered us, he remembered at precisely which table we had dined for our anniversary dinner!!! We'll be back! Thanks for a memorable evening.4/2/2013 12:00:00 AMFood and service were great.Food and service were great. Definitely warrants a return visit.4/1/2013 12:00:00 AMA wonderful Easter dinnerWe have been to Meridian before and chose to go there for Easter Sunday. We had a marvelous experience. I had the fried chicken and thought it was wonderful. That is quite a compliment coming from me because I make the best fried chicken! My husband had the bone in filet and it was the best thing ever. It was the best tasting beef I have ever eaten. We finished with a shared dish of apple crisp with ice cream which was dreamy! Meridian is consistently great and this meal lived up to expectations. Service was excellent.3/31/2013 12:00:00 AMExcellent dinner - the wildExcellent dinner - the wild boar and halibut were fantastic. Smoked corn soup and the pork belly and egg appitizer were also excellent.3/29/2013 12:00:00 AMEverything was excellent.Everything was excellent. Sit in the cozy bar area for dinner.3/23/2013 12:00:00 AMHad a very enjoyable experience.Had a very enjoyable experience. Food, while a little pricey, was outstanding. Atmoshpere, reminiscent of a ski lodge, is sophisticated and romantic with the only negative being the noise factor. Understated, small bar when you walk in is a nice touch too.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMAs always the service wasAs always the service was impeccable, the food top rated, everyone treated us graciously. We'll return.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMust visitLove the quiet, intimate but busy bar area. The hot/cold salmon appetizer is worth a visit. Sarah, our server, was extremely attentive without being intrusive. Wednesday turned out to be half price bottles of wine under $100. Terrific! Will definitely suggest to everyone I know.3/13/2013 12:00:00 AMWe recently had lunch andWe recently had lunch and it was great. The red wine risotto was delicious. We were there for a relaxing lunch on a day off from work, but it was full of people in business suits and attire. This made it a little stuffy for what we wanted that day, but it was still great.3/11/2013 12:00:00 AMThis restaurant is one ofThis restaurant is one of my favorites. It has a wonderful ambiance and the food and service are consistently very good. The log cabin feel is romantic and warm.2/25/2013 12:00:00 AMFood was excellent as wellFood was excellent as well as the service.
However we weren't pre-warned of the pre set menu and prices for valentines day. We were slightly disappointed b/c we couldn't order our favorites! I know it was V-day and all, but the V-day prices were more expensive then most resturaunts and was by no means a deal like many restuarants advertise.
It was kind of humorous that the waiter called a glass of champagne complimentory....the meal was 75 bucks a person....not couple....a person. For that price I kind of expect surf and terf which was not an option on the menu....2/14/2013 12:00:00 AM
