Diner Reviews
  • "Hands down the best meal we've enjoyed in Southwest Florida!!! The service was impeccable. Tasting courses timed perfectly and SO delicious!!! We are heading back this weekend and bringing friends this time!!"

  • "Good but overpriced. Not exceptional food or service. Great locale."

  • "We have loved this new place!been here several times as have our friends. Food is so so good, at a level we've not found in Naples. The menu was new at our last visit, the mangrove snapper was excellent and the spicey eggplant was interesting. The new mussel dish had us almost licking the bowl! Toffee pudding remains a favorite. Great service, nice wine by the glass, beautiful setting. Perfect night!"

  • "We have frequented this restaurant several times over the last 4 months and are still impressed by the quality of both the food and service. We dined early on a weeknight and were the first ones seated at an outdoor table overlooking the marina. Waiters worked flawlessly together to make sure we were happy with everything we ordered. Love the variation of preparation in food each time we dine. This indicates to me this restaurant is truly using the freshest ingredients they can find and putting delicious plates together. Would highly recommend."

  • "Everything about Mereday's was exceptional from the menu offerings to the attentive and friendly staff. It is a "must try" in Naples and a great change of pace from the typical fine dining restaurants found in town."

  • "Why is a rating of 3 energetic....?... Soooo annoying to be in a restaurant that is so loud one cannot conduct a conversion with dinner companions!! IMHO, A 3 means waaaayyyy toooo noisy. At Mereday.s we ate outside so I cannot attest top the noise level inside. If it is like most regarded restaurants, it is probably too noisy for my standards."

  • "We had a lovely evening at Mereday's. The staff was attentive, pleasant and knowledgeable. The food was delicious and paired nicely with their recommended wine. Don't forget to leave room for dessert. Would highly recommend dining at Mereday's."

  • "Mereday's is possibly the best sensory dining experience we have ever had! We have dined in top restaurants in NY & can't remember anything that comes close to the fabulous delight of tastes and flavor that surprised us with each bite of each course - truly spectacular! Every course was amazing. WOW..We were just in awe that anyone could put all of these flavors together and take you totally to a heightened level of gastronomy not to be duplicated anywhere else. We also enjoyed the selection of wine pairings. It was truly a special evening and one that we will repeat but won't wait for a birthday to go.....life is too short so put this on your list to make as many days as special as you can. AMAZING. This is a destination not to be missed!"

  • "Great experience. Only thing slightly disappointing was the wine paring. We will be back. Get the scallops."

  • "The price my hit you hard when you see the menu but the quality and quantity of the food is worth it. So for special occasions and some great food, you have to try this place. We will be back for sure."

  • "Mereday is making good progress and is approaching a Top Ten rating."

  • "We went with great expectations and were not disappointed. We did the full four courses plus dessert, which was one course too many (we were full after three). The beets and the sushi tuna were wonderful appetizers. The scallops were done perfectly and nicely seasoned. The sweetbreads were the best I have tasted; large and tender. My filet was cooked exactly as requested. All courses paired nicely with the wines selected. And the desserts were fantastic. Looking forward to returning."

  • "Our meal was delicious and we enjoyed dining outside because it was so scenic. The waitstaff was very attentive, as was the manager. We found it to be a nice change from Fifth Avenue as it was more accessible and "off the beaten path", especially in season. Meredays is more of a special occasion restaurant to me and I would recommend it to a friend."

  • "We find the food here outstanding as it is an interesting blend of the-south-meets-nouvelle-cuisine-meets-the world-type cooking. Charles Mereday uses top quality local ingredients and that is a big plus, too. We love the space with open kitchen and lovely views of the Naples water front. Highly recommended."

  • "We eat at 4-5 star restaurants, hubby thought not really worth the money/I kinda agreed Although, he's just fine with a $46 steak or a2lb lobster for 50-55$, he just didn't love his dinner. I liked the menu, but why not just have the choices listed with prices and one can still make the choice of one, two or three courses along with a wine pairing."

  • "We loved this place! The white interior was contemporary, chic and welcoming. Dinner was amazing. The nice sized amuse with homemade naan was delicious. It was followed by the most fantastic, homemade dinner roll with sea salt... the best dinner roll ever! For dinner you can either do a 2,3 or 4 course dinner. They bring a menu and you pick what ever you want, in any order, for your courses. Dessert is on them. Portions are medium. We chose the 3 course menu and only had dessert because I love chocolate. We were full. The service is personable and friendly. This would be a wonderful place for a birthday or anniversary dinner. It is very special! We definitely will be back."

  • "Mereday's is the finest restaurant in Naples in our opinion. We cannot use enough superlatives to describe it's amazing food! The ahi tuna, served sashimi style, was the best we've ever tasted. Sweetbreads, branzino, creole shrimp, scallops, Colorado lamb chops and beef filet, were all creatively prepared and simply delicious. We initially had concerns of limitations of a prix fix menu, but the flexibility of their menu was surprising and allowed us each to order exactly what we wanted. We did not do the wine pairings, instead ordered 2 bottles of wine, and the price of our meal was completely in line with other Naples restaurants. Our waiters, Bob and Angelina, both professional yet charming, helped us thoroughly enjoy our experience."

  • "Celebrated my wife's birthday here and had a great dining experience. My wife is a foodie and we have eaten in the best restaurants in France and Napa Valley. Mereday's is in this category of greatness. We'll be back for sure."

  • "Our first time at this restaurant, I chose it as it was my birthday. Did much research and liked what I read and we were not disappointed. We were greeted cordially and shown a lovely table outside. Champagne was brought to our table for my birthday. Our waitress was lovely as was all the wait staff. We chose three courses, very pleased with the wine selections and totally enjoyed our evening. Dessert was included and of course we chose the chocolate flour less cake and ice cream, all excellent. Highly recommend and would definitely go back."

  • "Dined at Mereday's for the 2nd time tonight. I continue to think that it may be the finest dining experience in all of Naples. The food is terrific and the service first rate - yet something is not quite right. Though clearly the best two meals in the last couple of weeks, the restaurant still does not draw the crowds that the restaurants on 5th Ave draw. I have concluded...though just my opinion... is that the location, while quite a lovely setting and a beautiful space inside is just too out of the way. In my opinion...it's well worth the trip!"

  • "Nice change from the average food at most naples better restaurants. If you like sweetbreads they are wonderful! Only complaint is it seemed that they finished most dishes with a 'drizzle' of sea salt. I would ask them in advance not to put it. The tastes are wonderful and the salt only detracted."

  • "This is hands down the best restuarant in Naples . Beautiful setting, excellent food and good service."

  • "This little gem puts together some really special wines and entrees. Service was seemless. Ambiance and decor are so Naples. Our party had a lovely evening. Will go back."

  • "Except for a few service glitches in which the person delivering the food ( not our server, Brendon) brought the wrong food, this was an outstanding dining experience. Brendon was a great waiter. I had the Spanish Grenache 2011 which was very smooth and the dishes were great from beginning to end including the bread. Pace was good and we recommended it to our family. Highlights were the Quail, Bronzino, Creole Shrimp and the Beef tenderloin made exactly to specification. Given the fact that one of us had three courses plus dessert and the other had two, he chose a good way to pace the dinner. Had a very NYC or Philly feel!"

  • "I tried this restaurant on a recommendation from a friend. I found it very disappointing. It is over priced from the bar to the food. Food was only marginable. Would not go back."

  • "We had the best scallops anywhere at anytime, the crab cake was also excellent. Chef was very resilient in changing up accompaniments for us......and every bite was scrumptious....our group enjoyed the rack of lamb, the filet mignon, the branzino, grouper and chicken for our main course ....everyone was delighted with his/her choice. The wines were of high quality and the martinis were prepared and served to perfection."

  • "The restaurant was a lot quieter than expected for the season in Naples, perhaps explained by being a little on the expensive side! For a top-notch restaurant, however, the staff seemed a little too young and inexperienced. However, the food was excellent."

  • "When we arrived at the restaurant we realized there was plenty of seating outside. The hostess told me that all the tables were reserved for outside. Since we had a birds eye view of the tables outside, we noticed that there were a few tables left vacant the entire meal. When we left, I thanked the hostess for a wonderful meal, but commented on how some of the tables outside were never occupied the entire time we were there. She curtly told me that the people who reserved those tables did not show up. It would have been nice if we were able to sit outside, it was a beautiful evening and the view is pretty. The hostess definitely had an attitude, definitely not warm and friendly."

  • "What a pleasant surprise to find relaxed, conversation-friendly, outdoor dining on Mereday's patio. The only traffic was the water taxi burbling by. Happily, they do not pipe the music from inside to the 8 or so well spaced tables outside. Our reservation was respected and food allergies graciously accommodated. 3 diners selected 3 standard tasting menu courses and our vegetarian was happy with her 3 courses, too. Service was efficient and informative. This may be considered a "splurge" if you pay $36, with a $15 supplement, for Rack of Lamb sous vide, and only get 2 chops -even if they are perfectly medium rare, they are just a touch greasy. We will certainly return to try other menu options and look forward to lunch."

  • "This was a wonderful fine dining experience. Service was superb. Food quantity and quality were perfect. Wine pairing was just right and the desserts were beautiful and delicious. My guest wanted to know when we could return...a good sign!"

  • "The food was not good. Presentation was about the only positive thing I can honestly say. Don't mind paying fine dining prices, but when I leave the restaurant feeling like I've wasted my money - I won't return. I had a three course selection with wine pairing. Beet salad, crab cake and filet. The wine that was paired was good, the food was terrible. No flavor. When I spend over $100 for a dining experience I expect much, much more than a nice presentation. Had one cocktail at the bar before being seated and this was an enjoyable experience."

  • "Beautiful setting for a really spectacular meal. A big wow! This is fine dining, very talented kitchen. Prompt and efficient service. Open kitchen is very interesting and kind of fun to check out. We did a full tasting and would probably go with 1 less course next time, a little too full. Each course was beautifully presented. We enjoyed fantastic escargot, possibly the best we've ever had, even better than those in France. The chicken was wonderful and the sweetbreads done perfectly. Beet salad was perfect and the Branzino was divine, I wish I had some right now! Yummy desserts too end a great night. Really can't say enough good things about our experience."

  • "I was looking for somewhere special to celebrate my 30th anniversary and had heard about Meredays from a friend who also celebrated an anniversary there. We arrived early and chose a table outside overlooking the harbor and watched dolphins chasing snooks while we sipped our aperitifs. We chose our menu items from a small but interesting selection and enjoyed the well presented and seasoned food served by attentive staff. A memorable dinner and we look forward to a return visit to the restaurant for our next anniversary!"

  • "The food here was awesome. Just my hubby and I and we did the wine pairing. I had a crab cake to start and the grouper as my entree, so so fresh. My husband had the escargot(the best he ever had) and filet . Just great . Dessert was chocolate and decadent."

  • "We ate at Mereday's on a quiet Monday evening. I had made the reservation for a group and was hoping for a good outcome. Everyone raved about their food! It was delicious from the very first bite. Their rolls, made with olive oil and sea salt are the best in town. The menu is not overwhelming, and we tried lots of different things, easy to do since some of the courses are small plate. Be sure to save room for dessert, you don't want to miss that. We all agreed, this is the best food in Naples, a little out of the way, and perhaps hard to find, if not familiar with the area, but well worth the effort."

  • "Saturday night and noir full at 8pm, hmmmm. So true. White wine came out room temperature. Server quickly chilled it in an ice bucket. Buy a used Eurocave. Beet salad was ok- beets were undercooked and roots were still attached to several. 1/4 tsp of goat cheese for all those beets? Crab cake was cooked earlier and reheated. Outside charred and inside cold. Sent it back. Replacement outside charred and inside warm. Creole shrimp were undercooked-just a cooked ring of white on the outside and raw on the inside. Nothing chocolate for dessert - out of the chocolate cake since friday night. Couldn't the pastry chef make another one? Chef comped the entire meal, including wine. We left cash for the wine, my wife's meal and the tip."
