  • "This was a 1st time experience for me. I talked two additional friends into joining me for a Silver Oak Wine Dinner. The wine was very nice. The food was very disappointing. The lobster in the stuffed lobster dish was difficult to remove. The eggplant salad lacked flavor and had a slimy feel in the mouth. The "beef cooked three ways"...first piece of meat was tender but had a lot of fat. The second was wrapped in dough and had a lot of gristle. The third was very tough. Next was the dessert of a pear and ice cream. We all had to ask for knives to cut the pear. The butter knives didn't work. All of this was in such low lighting we had to use our phones to see our checks."

  • "This is the second time in a month Inave been disappointed. Companions steaks were filets and were good. Ihad a New York strip and 13 of itwas grissle, Veggies were great potatoes were great.Creme brulee was great---steak not so much."

Although the restaurant is located downtown, it offered seclusion from the busy outside rustle, soft lighting, and the perfect atmosphere for our one year anniversary dinner. The food was delicious and I enjoyed it along with the best Long Island Iced Tea I've ever had. The wait staff was very professional and courteous, however the 40 minute delay between finishing our entrée and being served our desert was a little excessive; though not excessive enough to prevent another trip to Mercury Chop House."

  • "Great salad but my steak and vegetables were obviously set under a heat lamp while I finished my salad. In a restaurant of this caliber I would expect they would wait until you are finished with your salad before they put on a medium rare steak.The steak was medium well at best. The vegetables had broccoli and it had set under the lamp so long it was wilted and brown looking. My husbands was the same. We did not voice out concerns as we were guests at the table. We had the special with 3 sauces. Sauces were great."

  • "We have never had a bad experience here. The food is great and service is even better. Very accommodating. When we go we are there for at least 2-3 hours. Great place to relax and have great conversation over good wine and great food. They have a great patio when the weather is nice. You will always have a great experience here!"

  • "Excellent filet (we ordered medium rare and it was exactly that). We tried the three sauces and they were all wonderful. We also had the sea bass, which was excellent!!! (We ordered the escargot to start, but wasn't as impressed.) Nice ambience! Great place for a romantic night out!!! We definitely recommend and would return!! ~P & L Wright, Arl., Tx."

  • "We had a reservation for our valentine's day meal. We were on time and surprised to see a line in the entranceway. However, we were promptly seated and efficiently served by a caring staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our excellent meal and wine. Many thanks to the staff for taking great care of us."

  • "Had birthday dinner with wife and friend on feb 8. We had a great waiter (cant remember name) who offered to make a special drink for wife. (The drink was right on) We ordered three entrees to share and they were presented wonderfully on one plate so we could share. Waiter was very helpful with wine choice and with food choice as well. They evening was topped off with three wonderful desserts that were brought out also on one plate so they could be enjoyed by all. Overall it was a great experience and a great start to wonderful evening."

  • "I had an 8:30 reservation, came in at 8:15, sat down in the VIP room (which felt more like a coat closet with sex dungeon decor) at 9:30, finally met our waitress at 9:50, and recieved my food at 10:25. So you do the math. I understand they were busy, but this was still unacceptable to me. Food was good, and they had a great wine selection, but do not believe I will ever return considering all the other great resturants in town."

  • "Overall the food was great, however, the service needs improvement. It was as though the restaurant booked to many people for the night (Valentines Day). The server was knowledgable about the food, but visited our table very rarely, and we had to wait for long periods of time between drinks, menus, the meal, and finally the check. We did however sit in the front "VIP" booth, which was blocked off from the rest of the restaurant by a curtain, and that may have accounted for the server often forgetting us."

  • "Service a real disappointment. I'd followed up my Open Table request with two calls to the restaurant, with a specific area request. NTL, table was not ready when we arrived, and area requested not available either. Apparently had either been previously booked and they didn't say when I made my reservation, or they got a better offer. Then service unaccountably, frustratingly slow. No menus, no bread. Accepted the waiter's recommendation for appetizers, then took 35 minutes for them to arrive. A disappointment."

  • "Great atmosphere, excellent service, and food was over the top. Sea Bass with fried Lobster, a first for me, but yummo, would definitely dine there again. Despite the fact that it was Valentines and the place was bursting at the seams, the wait staff kept the meal flowing, a little wait, but not more than expected. A great wine selection and a very good service."

  • "I've been to Mercury Chop house quite a number of times. If you're in Ft. Worth for only one night, I'd recommend this as the first place to go. The steaks are great but the pan seared sea bass and scallops are just incredible. And while I'm sure the risotto is great, I'm sure to sub in the jalapeno cheese grits every time. And the staff is always great!"

  • "This restaurant is a gem. The food is excellent and the service even better. We went there for our 20th wedding anniversary and we were seated in a cozy booth that could be closed off with curtains for privacy- very romantic. After our meal the chef sent a tray with two absolutely amazing desserts and had written out Happy 20th Anniversary on the tray with the sauces. We will definitely be back and highly recommend it to anyone that appreciates fine dining"

  • "Mercury Chophouse has always been one of my favorites. Past Saturday they were very crowded, and didn't handle it very well. Sat for several minutes with no service, but once our waiter arrived, he was pleasant and efficient. My filet was overcooked...asked for medium, got medium well. Peppercorn sauce $9.95 extra....ridiculous."

  • "When we want a meal that is more than our every day selection, we head for the Chophouse. This was our first visit on a Sunday and we were surprised to find the restaurant nearly empty. The upside of this was the ability to talk without trying to talk over the usual noise. The downside was on a cold windy night there was no Valet. My husband had to walk two blocks to find parking. The food was excellent (as usual) with the guys able to get their steak fix with the special trio and the girls could get the wonderful sea bass special. All food was served just as we have come to expect and Jafar our waiter was very attentive. Chophouse will continue to be a favorite, since we always get what we expect."

One member of our party was a vegetarian and had no difficulty in finding appropriate choices. Our service was excellent, with great considerations for the day!"

  • "Our reservation was 9:15 PM. We arrived around 9 to catch a drink in the bar prior to dinner Upon arrival, the restaurant was packed. Another patron told me, 'good luck' as I checked in. Finally just before 10PM a hostess came us. We were taken out the front door and next door to Cowtown Diner and was seated in a booth. Much like a diner, no table cloths and simple interior. We were handed the Chophouse menus and said this was being used as overflow. As we waited for service, a party entered the Diner and was immediately seated behind us with Diner menus. At that point we left. Not spending NYE with pancakes while we paid for Steaks. Thank goodness for Del Friscos, they got us a table immediately to eat and ring in the New Year!"

  • "We were there for New Year's Eve dinner at 7:00. Had the fillet and it was fabulous. You could cut is with a fork. It was very busy and the server did not come to the table very often. There were four of us for dinner and when the food was delivered the server brought one plate of main course. We waited about 5 more minutes and she brought a second plate. Finally after about 5 additional minutes the last two entrées and table sides were delivered. Half the food was cold at that point. The server never came back until we completed our dinner. At that point, we informed her one of the sides was incorrect. She acknowledged it was incorrect and offered to send out the correct one. Dinner was done at that time."

  • "The food was ok, but the service was less than good. Hostest and front end staff were very nice and personable. Our waitress seemed to be overwhelmed and frustrated. Long wait times for drinks and just to get menus. Luckily we weren't in a hurry. For the price of the food, I expected better. My steak was just like warm and came out 2 minutes after my salad. My wife's porkchops were good, but one was way overcooked. Dessert was delicious. This was our first time at the chop house and I don't think we will go back due to long wait times and just adequate food."

  • "It was New Year's Eve, but we had a reservation so were seated on time. Very noisy and had to yell at each other to try and talk. We sat for over 20 minutes - yes 20 - without anyone acknowledging our existence. No menu, no drink order. One in our party asked another waiter to get OUR waiter. Nothing. I got up and went looking for someone to please wait on us. 30 minutes later a waiter said he would take care of us - good care! Again slow on getting drinks (iced tea), bread. Food when we got it was very good. We had an early reservation so wonder if got worse as night wore on?"

  • "We made reservations for 8:45. We arrived at the restaurant at 8:20 and they were still trying to see their 7:30 reservations. We had to wait over an hour and 30 minutes to receive our table. There was no organization at the hostess stand for who had come first, second or third to receive their table. She would give tables to people who just walked in the door while others had been waiting for over an hour. Reservations do not seem to matter at this restaurant. We have been to this restaurant many times and really enjoyed in the past. It has been a few years since we have been here. I'm not sure if there's new ownership or what but I would not suggest going to this restaurant anymore. We will be taking our business elsewhere."

  • "If the tables were any closer together, you wouldn't be able to get to your seat. The wait staff had to squeeze through where possible to take orders or deliver food and drink. Every few years we try Mercury Chophouse again, and rediscover why we don't go very often. Good food, but way too crowded."
