  • "The wait staff are honest about their preference for one dish over another when asked for suggestions. The food is great, and they have very good customer service. Our server forgot to bring out our oysters before our entree, and we expressed that they are not as good after food - and we didn't want our entrees to get cold. After being very apologetic, the manager came out with a dozen oysters - which were on the house. Great experience, even with the slip from the server."

  • "Mercer kitchen was really great, and a nice hidden gem in the heart of Soho. My wife and I were seated right away and started with some champagne to celebrate our stay-cation for July 4th holiday. We had some of the best salmon and puffed rice treats for our appetizer! The in-house Burrata with home-made cherry jam might have stole the show. The service was amazing too! Our server was very attentive and the manager Ryan visited and was so kind as well. We will definitely be back to Mercer Kitchen!"

  • "We had been to MK before for brunch and it was just ok, so we were hesitant to return. Dinner did not disappoint. Great apps including tempura softshell crab and burrata. Very fresh shrimp cocktail. Pork chop entree is spectacular. Dessert was a bit underwhelming and my coffee was not hot. But overall very enjoyable experience."

  • "Loud, energetic vibe on the downstairs bar area and resturaunt. I ordered the Mercer, a $20+ burger. I have been in NY many years so the price wasn't shocking. It was the size and most of all the bun that was surprising. I have seen better buns at McDonalds. Yes the burger was better, but having a signature burger you expect it to be served and go WOW!! Otherwise, enjoyable good any scene."

It is in the basement of the Mercer Hotel in the heart of the Soho shopping district. The food and ambiance are the best and price reasonable by New York standards. Try the "wasabi" pizza for a unique twist on a traditional dish."

  • "I took my girlfriend to this restaurant for a nice night out and we were pleasantly surprised by this visit. The gentleman at the bar made great drinks and had good personality. Our server was friendly and quick on delivering service, Dez was awesome. The food was tasty and arrived quickly after placing our order. We ordered the halibut and the meatballs, both were delicious although our favourite was the meatballs. For desert we had the butterscotch pudding and it was incredible. The manager, Brian Sullivan, stopped by and asked us how our meal was and was very polite. Huge props to Mercer Kitchen, you guys really nailed our night out and we will be back! Thank you!"

  • "I arrived with my girlfriend sunday morning for brunch and were led downstairs. We were greeted by a pretentious, rude blond host who proceeded to look around an empty room trying to find us a table. When I asked if we could sit under the sky light she said "I can't sit you there". Mind you there were about 12 tables under the light that were empty. When I questioned her, she responded "I see where your going". When we left the 12 tables were still empty. I don't know her reason and nor do I give a sh*t but this girl should come back to the real world and remember if people like me don't eat at your restaurant you lose a job. The bottom line is I'd rather starve to death than ever enter this obnoxious place ever again!"

  • "The hostess and server staff were quite bad. 4 of us were there on time, 2 of us 45 mins late and they refused to sit us even when we said we'd order ahead. The 2 arrived, then the hostess said "okay so you're 45 mins late, it will be another 10 mins". Are you kidding me woman? It was then and there I wanted to walk right out the door. But we stayed out of pure convenience and laziness. The wait staff was very unattentive as well, whenever we wanted something it was like we were being ignored. With all that said, the salmon was pretty good... but the bacon on the side tasted like it was previous frozen. Won't go back."

Fact it I made a reservation on a Saturday night for 630 at 6, 30 minutes before. The burger was great! But so is the burger at Shake Shack and I don't have to pay extra for the attitude"

  • "Food was good, but the service was terrible. My dining companion did not like her glass of wine, told the waitress and asked for the menu so she could select another glass. The waitress did not offer to help with selections and seemed annoyed she had to change the wine. Midway through dinner someone came to sit next to us and knocked over my drink into the plate of food. The waiters then spilled the drink all over me as they attempted to clean it up. They did not clean the puddle on the floor. They brought me a new drink. At the end of the night we saw that we were charged for both the wine that was removed AND the drink that was spilled. 200+ for 2 is fine, but good service should come with that $. "

  • "Although we had a reservation, the hostess mentioned to us that she did not see our reservation. We were forced to endure a little attitude from her end and wait at the bar for an opening. We were placed at a table suited for 2 when our reservation was for 4. We refused that table and were finally placed at a respectable table. The waiter lacked in being attentive to our needs. We had to ask to be serve, to order cocktails, to order our meals and get the bill."

  • "It's not that anything was particularly bad about Mercer kitchen, it's just that nothing was great. The Lamb was probably the best part - very tender, nice sauce, but the side of beans was very average and the fish my partner had was overcooked. Server never brought the wine list, had one glass of an average pinot noir priced like a very good pinot noir. I think the basement location has a somewhat uncomfortable feel to it. It's very dark, noisy, and somewhat chaotic if you're seated near the bar. We paid 200, all in, and I have to say I would have rather paid a little more and gone somewhere with a star."
