The downstairs dining could be dark yet the design opens the space. We went in post shopping for a light dinner and enjoyed each bite, and sip. The pizza with black truffle oil is sublime- the deft touch of cheese and greens gave it texture. The sea bass carpaccio melts in your mouth. We had an order of roasted vegetables; wonderfully prepared although a bit stingy in portion size. Our server assisted in wine selection , making the choices informed. She also knew each ingredient in each plate and was careful to listen to our preferences to match them to the menu.

Our waiter, Jose, helped us with recommendations and we were delighted with each and every choice. The black truffle pizza was amazing! We split the burger which came highly recommended and met every expectation and we also split the sea bass which was also wonderful. The wine and desserts were equally pleasing and the service was outstanding. Based on the excellent reviews we decided to give it a try. Service was excellent from the moment we walked in. I ordered lobster and my husband got the Mercer burger.. The portions sizes are quite small and we were both still hungry even after an app and entrees. The food was excellent and the ambiance was phenomenal – just the right amount of energy. The basement actually feels open and airy and very hip. While the street level offers a little less noise but plenty of people watching. Service was a bit slow last time we were there; however, when we complained about the main courses being late; they were quick to apologize and more than made up for the shortcoming.
