Mercato di Vetronew customer and a forever-customerFrom the time you enter you are in a good place. Smiles and laughter greet you from the greeter and the hostees and the entire working force. The manger (Anna Sager) is not only beautiful, but she let you know by her grace and smile that she is more than a beautiful face and stature, but a wonderful person inside and outside. Tthe food is more than you can ask for as far and taste and colors and the wonderful smell. This place is very close to Venice (Italy) in it services and style. Do not look for prices that at a fast food, but they are not so far out. I thank the entire crew for thier wonderful smile and service. Thank you Kenny. PS the menu is not what you are expecting. but it offer and new and great outting.5/12/2013 12:00:00 AMI wish they still had theI wish they still had the arancini on the menu. The carrots were not so good.
The hen of the woods mushrooms were AMAZING.5/11/2013 12:00:00 AMDeliciously interesting smallDeliciously interesting small plates to be shared and savored5/7/2013 12:00:00 AMItalian small plates with a twist.Italian small plates with a Mediterranean twist. Super yummy. Especially loved veggie options and fish options -- all very fresh, flavorful, and light yet very filling.5/4/2013 12:00:00 AMvery good, very loudIn general everything was quite good. Beef marrow was quite good, though not as good as Walter Manzke's when he was at Church & State (and not as large). Gelato was quite good, though not as good as Rivabella. Squash Blossoms were good, but nothing to compare to MB Post. Kale Pizza was good, better than Pizza at Sotto, but not up to what you can get at Milo & Olive. Duck Meatballs were very good, lamb was quite good, hen-of-the-woods exceptional. Portions were somewhat small, and prices somewhat high, & noise level was very high (during happy hour anyway). Service was exceptional, especially given the crowd.
corkage $25.5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMBravoSecond time dining at this fantastic restaurant. AMAZING cuisine, INCREDIBLE service. We had a party of 8 of "foodies" and everyone was impressed. Looking forward to my next visit....5/2/2013 12:00:00 AMInteresting and delicious menuSurprisingly good food, high-end tapas in a lovely, happening bar. A little bit pricey for small plates but the branzino is so fabulous and some of the vegetable plates were really something new.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMStellar ExperienceThis was my first time dining at Mercato di Vetro. Based on my wife's previous experiences, I anticipated high quality small plates, attentive service, and a vibrant ambiance/scene . All my these expectations were met. We ordered five items: Squash Blossoms, Grilled Pear salad with Mezclun Lettuce, Radish salad, Branzino, and the Flat-iron steak. There were no hiccups in the preparation of these small plates. All items were priced between $12 and $25 dollars. I guess my only complaint is that the steak did not come warm, but I can understand given the medium-rare preparation it might not come piping hot.
The service was very attentive. Given that we booked our reservation for 6pm, at the time of opening, we wouldn't expect otherwise.5/1/2013 12:00:00 AMGet there earlyIf you want a most enjoyable dining experience and desire to have a conversation w/your dining partner go early to this lovely restaurant. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is wonderful. It has a wonderful menu but it is definitely i noisy.4/29/2013 12:00:00 AMYumLoved! Only reason I'm not giving Mercato di Vetro's ambiance 5*'s is because of the noise level... Would have loved it just a notch less loud. The food is awesome -- especially perfect for those that love sharing and tasting lots of small/medium plates! The portions were very (!) generous. My husband and I shared 4 plates. The service was impeccable. The manager, Sardo, even brought us a dessert with a candle as it was my husband's birthday. Well done! And thank you...4/27/2013 12:00:00 AMWe really enjoyed dinner asWe really enjoyed dinner as well as our drink choice!! The waitress was super friendly and helped out with the menu as it was our first time. Definitely looking forward to our next trip!4/26/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat find! This was my first time at Mercato di Vetro and I enjoyed it very much. The service was great and our waitress was top notch -- recommending dishes and guiding through the process there. I liked everything I ate. The vibe there is very cool.4/24/2013 12:00:00 AMApart from our noisy neighbors,Apart from our noisy neighbors, we enjoyed the restaurant very much. It's a bit pricey, but the food was good and there are some unusual menu items. The porchetta is a must. I tasted my husband's pasta, and it was good, but not al dente enough for me. The duck meatballs were very good, and I liked my salad with grilled pears and burrata.4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMEnjoy it more each time...I have been here 4 times over 2 years. I like it more each time. (I still like its sister restaurant, Cleo, more, but...) Some of the dishes are really, really delish. Its not too foodie, but interesting and complex. You must order the Hen of the Woods mushrooms, they are cooked so great. I had the tongue and the lamb, both were great. We tried one of the big bottles of beer, that come in a champagne bottle, which was good. The wines are good, I think some people, who are intense oenophiles, might find the wine list lacking, but I think they have a broad enough selection at decent prices.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMExquisite FlavoringAs always, the food is absolutely incredible. One dish after another was pretty mind-blowing especially the lengua. Even if this place weren't so beautiful in its ambiance, I would go here every day, but luckily, it is.4/12/2013 12:00:00 AMThis is our 2nd visit andThis is our 2nd visit and we love it! I can't wait to go back and try more dishes. The management and service staff was on point. There was nothing but positivity from every aspect.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMThis was a pleasant surprise! This was a pleasant surprise! Some of the best food we have eaten in a long time.
Service was a little stressed/rushed.
Atmosphere was nice/modern, but the music was odd.3/17/2013 12:00:00 AMA long wait but worth itRead the reviews ahead of time and I have to laugh. We had the same experience. They said be prepared to wait. They do not honor your reservation time. The Manager is very nice and apologizes and brings over drinks. That is exactly what happened to us. We waited 45 minutes and my husband wanted to leave. Just at that moment, we got our table. The food was amazing, so it made up for the long wait. Once we sat down, the service was outstanding. Order the pizza with the mushrooms! We will return, but we know what we are in for.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMWhere every bite is a GREAT one! With so many great choices in LA. (Some overrated, some right on the mark) There is nothing better than selecting a restaurant for an occasion where you can gather with friends/client, share food where every bite is a "OMG, this is so good!" (And, you don't feel like you're getting ripped off!)3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMMercato di Vetro is one ofMercato di Vetro is one of my favorite restaurants in LA. It never disappoints!1/1/0001 4:00:00 PM
