Really enjoyed our meal at mercado. Pear and blue cheese tostas were amazing. Liked the tock shrimp and scallops as well. It wasn't anywhere near full for a Saturday night. We'll definitely return. Just hope they attract more patrons to make the atmosphere a bit more lively. Waiter was excellent and friendly.

Nice tapas place in Williamsburg. Food was generally well prepared, but some dishes were over-seasoned. It was very quiet for a Saturday night.

Cool ambiance, I liked the decor of the restaurant. The cheeses were fantastic, as were the white fish dip and the guernica peppers. The gambas were good too.

  • We have been to Mercado 3

We have been to Mercado 3 times. So obviously we liked it. But this is not about the food. It's about their integrity. Here is what happened. I made reservations through Open Table where they offered 1000 dining points for the reservation. The only caveat is that the part show up on time to receive the points. The restaurant can deny the points if you show up late. We were there at on time at 7 PM. When I discovered that they gave up 100 points in error, I called Mercado. The person answering was not familiar with the arrangement, so I gave them my cell phone number and asked for a call back. No call back. I emailed them. No reply. Not getting the points is no big deal. Ignoring me and not having the courtesy to get back to me? Not okay.

Great spot for a date or a group outing! I really want this place to succeed. Great venue, just in an out-of-the-way spot. Projector screen playing movies off TCM added a nice vibe, along with the open kitchen to allow you to watch your food being prepared.

We were there on a sunday night and the food was mediocre. Much too expensive for that calibre. I would like to blame it on the day of the week, but at that price point they should be consistent.

Superb! What a great tapas place we feel like we are back in Spain. Friendly service and the best of all we could bring wines. One of the most beautiful restaurants in this neighborhood.

Have been looking for a nice Tapas restaurant and this one surely fits the bill. Terrific small plates and BYOB also. Loved the food, atmosphere and service were all stellar. We will definitely be back.

This restaurant just opened a few months ago and was fab! It is BYOB because they are still waiting for their liquor license. We brought a few bottles of wine, got some small plates and a desert. Everything was plated beautifully and tasted wonderful. Since it is new and located closer to the water it wasn't as busy/loud as some of the other restaurants in the area. My girlfriends all loved it as well so we will definitely come back!

  • I have been raving about the
    OpenTable Diner Since 2011

I have been raving about the food ever since I left Mercado. Everything that we had was equally inventive as it was delicious. The special of Nantucket Oysters with a apple sorbet and celery cream was like nothing I have ever tried before and brought a refreshing quality to the dish that you wouldn't normally expect. The lighting was a bit brighter than I would have liked in some section of the restaurant but the overall size of the space is very generous. Service was helpful and sweet. BYOB until they get their liquor license.

Once their liquor license kicks in (I hope this week), it'll be a neighborhood lock! So far, 3-for-3 over the past month. Great food, awesome space and greast staff.

The staff was so friendly and the food was delicious. The vibe of the place fits perfectly with the neighborhood - a very large and beautiful industrial space warmed with wood throughout. The open kitchen is very cool and the 2 woodburning ovens are a sight to behold. Lisa, the hostess, went out of her way to show us the downstairs bakery run by Johnny Peraltha. The baked goods were, as expected, delicious. I look forward to the opening of their retail space and for getting their liquor license. We will be back again and again!

Plating for every dish was gorgeous, but nearly every dish fell a bit flat. The octopus was completely overcooked. The Chulaton looked fantastic and was cooked properly, but was underseasoned. Nothing really popped. Except the bread - which is pretty amazing really. Our advice: Stick to the Bakery downstairs.
