Menton, Chef Barbara Lynch’s Fort Point fine dining restaurant, is the final concept to complete her Fort Point trifecta and joins neighbors Sportello and Drink. Located in FP3, the AIA award-winning luxury condominium complex, Menton radiates an understated elegance and offers several beautiful spaces to dine including the 60-seat dining room, a 12-seat Chef’s Table, and the 45-seat private dining room. The restaurant, a glamorous expression of fine dining, was designed by Cheryl and Jeffrey Katz of C&J Katz and features a subtle palette of grays with touches of silver and black. The cuisine of Menton, an artful blend of French technique and Italian soul, displays Executive Chef Colin Lynch’s talent for precision, refinement, and visual artistry in the form of two menu options: a four-course prix-fixe and a seven-course chef’s tasting. Guests will relax and enjoy a carefully choreographed culinary experience under the direction of Chef Colin Lynch and GM Meredith Gallagher.

    The food was outstanding. My wife and I ordered from the 4 course Prix Fixe menu. We were concerned going in that the portions would leave us wanting; however, by the end of the meal we were both quite satisfied. We both had the lobster salad, halibut, and duets of beef. Each was suberbly prepared and presented. The flavors were unique but not overbearing. For desert we didn't want anything sweet, so we asked if they could do a cheese plate instead of the deserts on the menu. To our pleasent surprise, our waiter arrived at our table with entire cheese cart! I must say, the cheeses were some of the best we've ever had and topped off a memorable evening. The only downside, with wine and a cocktail, was the total on the check.

    A very special dining experience. Over the top in every way. Our waiter John was excellent. A unique combination of impeccable attention while not stuffy or pretentious and showed a great sense of fun and humor. The food was a ten in presentation, originality and taste. We did the full tasting with wine pairing which is well worth the cost. We will save Menton for special celebrations going forward. The decor was slick while at the same time warm and inviting. Menton is in a category all its own. Barbara has nailed it once again.

    A great menu from which you choose either fixed price or tasting menu. We were pleasantly full after small portions of beautiful and delicious four course prix fix. Yes, it is expensive. But if you see the way they serve the rack of rabbit....really? How do they do that? Amazing. When you have the occasion to celebrate-it is worth it.

    It is all that Barbara Lynch hoped it would be. Absolutely a first class restaurant in all of New England. It is expensive but worth the price as it is fine dining in an amazing atmosphere. The staff make you feel as if you are the only ones in the restaurant and the food and presentation is unlike anything you have experienced. Definitely an event you should look forward to.

    We had a fantastic time! The meal was amazing, the service was outstanding, the decor was lovely. We were there celebrating a friend's birthday. They heard me say happy birthday to her and made her (and us) feel very special by giving us little add-ons, writing happy birthday on her dessert plate, etc. We also received a tour of the kitchen and chef's table. Very interesting to see the back of the house and learn more about the restaurant interesting. Overall, we loved it and would recommend it for when you want to treat yourself.

    The service and food experience is the closest you will come to 3 star Paris experience on the east coast.     This was one of our most pleasant evenings dining in Boston. The service was attentive without being intrusive and the food was excellent. The one complaint would be that it was very meat oriented, and could have benefited with a couple of dishes on the tasting menu which were vegetable oriented--or perhaps even a tasting menu which offered a vegetarian alternative. That said, we understand that the venue has only been open for two weeks, so such variety may be forthcoming after opening jitters are worked out. With that exception, the staff was so well trained that you would never know that the restaurant is so young. The experience overall reminded us of Gary Danko in San Francisco.

    A lovely addition to Barbara Lynch's upscale offerings. With Barbara in residence, attention to detail is high. So are the prices. Dinner for 3 with tip was $440. Prix fixe $95. A selection of four choices was eclectic. A salad of root vegetables in the first course almost blew away the fois gras. Less to choose from in the second course, but still whatever was selected was delicious. Like many restaurants with the prix fixe menu, the portions are small, especially the main course. The wine is delicious. We ordered by the glass and they went out of their way to make sure we liked our choice before pouring a full glass. I actually turned down two wines that I didn't like. An exceptional dinner. But pricey.

    absolutely perfectly flawless....amazing, comfortable, the wait staff is beyond description - our Captain ( female, do not know her name) was superb in EVERY detail and her wine knowledge was incredible without being arrogant in the least. I felt like I was in NY but everyone was much friendlier! The dining room was slightly underwhelming however the entrance, lounge and rest rooms were beautiful! The stem ware was spectacular perfection!

    Menton was truly excellent. Everything from the service to the atmosphere is perfect and the food is simply amazing. They have created something truly special without being pretentious where you can go to celebrate something special or go just because. They make an effort to know their guests (especially those who frequent Lynch's other restaurants) and ensure you have a unique experience. It's rare to have the experience match the level of excellence of the food, but at Menton it definitely does. I would recommend the 7 course tasting - the progression is wonderful and the quality of the ingredients and the creativity with which they are put together is unmatched!

    Menton was Exquisite. The moment we came through the door the hostess told us our table was ready without us even saying our name and upon leaving she was already holding my coat as we came around the corner. The service here is without a doubt the best in Boston and the food, phenomenal. The pace was leisurely but this was on purpose as there are little "treats" between each course and since there is no a la carte menu, this gives you time to digest your food through the meal and thoroughly enjoy every bite. Menton was expensive but there is not a doubt in my mind we got our moneys-worth. Barbara Lynch has done it again!

    This was one of the best meals I have had in 10 years. We had the 7 course tasting menu and it was phenomenal from start to finish.     Barbara Lynch is my favorite Boston chef and 9 Park is one of my favorite resraurants in the world. My anticipation for Menton couldn't have been higher. I was thinking French Laundry, Charlie Trotter's, Le Bernadin. Unfortunately it was extremely disappointing. The food was good, not great and I thought the room and ambience were underwheming. Lets hope the food and service improve quickly. Did not seem at all ready for prime time.

    Impeccable service - waitstaff is knowledgeable, efficient, professional; they are not intrusive. Food is extremely creative. I'm not in love with the prixe fixe format, but portion sizes are moderate and every course was delicious. Wine list is extraordinary, but you might wish to consider a second mortgage to finance your selection. Depth of available Burgundies is particularly noteworthy. Overall a fabulous dining experience. This restaurant is definitely expensive; but absolutely outstanding.

    I expected the food to be comparable with the likes of Daniel Bouloud, Jean Georges, and Le Bernardin in New York but found the food lacking that "wow" factor. I felt the meal was very similar to what you can get at No.9 park, another Barbara Lynch restaurant. I like how only two options are presented to diners, four or seven course, I like that the tables are NOT too close to each other, a definite PLUS!! The service was outstanding!! But for the price, the food was not spectacular. I tried the seven course chef's tasting and was impressed with only 1 of the 7 dishes!! I feel that the restaurant has the potential to surpass the tired L'Espalier which lacks in service, but makes up for in creative and exceptional food! Menton can have both!

    A luscious, challenging, adult experience awaits you at Menton. While service is still getting its sea legs (meal pacing was a challenge)it is a terrific experience that will only get better. Food delicious well prepared layered and inventive (artichoke soup (veloute) with artichoke done three ways and truffle mousse was a stand-out). Three choices in each course of the prix fixe make the diner think about a path through the meal, when to go heavy, when to lighten up. Difficult wine parings await. The menu has 2(3) options, a four course prix fixe $95 and a 7 course tasting $145 with and $105 without wine parings) the room is gorgeous cool and relaxing. I hope Boston is ready for the restaurant experience that Menton threatens to be.GO!

    yet again Barbara Lynch has done it. Although not for the faint of heart wallet the food is worthy and the wine list fabulous. A very young kitchen staff has the level of expertise of an more experienced kitchen. Having said that Barbara is the overseer and has plucked a few of her high end professionals from #9 to get things rolling. The Ambiance is top notch. If there is any kind of criticism, and this is not really one, it would be that the staff is almost but surely will be invisible except when you need them. It is kind of like the experience at #9 where you might think about what is in a dish and suddenly the staff appears and you learn about it. Menton is not there yet but will be soon. Enjoy and savor the experience.

    I'm not entirely certain that anyone in that restaurant had been to Menton but me. A really disappointing visit. Lynch's inspiration, the town of Menton on the French/Italian border near Nice, is sunny, smells of orange blossoms, has lemon and olive trees, a view of the sparkling blue mediterranean sea, is teeming with markets full of tomatoes, aubergines, olives, you go to eat fresh fish, tomato and anchovy tart, socca, hand made pastas, tapenade... Lynch's restaurant is gray, formal and the food is precious - lots of little courses most with a drizzle or two of this and that, a stiff wine list with none of the sunshine of the med, and an anemic half dozen lemons in a bowl in the middle of the room as a nod to its namesake?

We had the 4 course tasting menu on a Tuesday and it elevated a Tuesday meal to Saturday night status. I wish I had Sunday to sleep in...
