I walked into Melisse with my girlfriend and walked out with my fiancee. James (Maitre d') was integral to the process and his execution was flawless.

We were greeted with a card on our table that acknowledged our Anniversay along with a boxes of truffles, very nice touch. Our wait staff and servers were excellent, very knowledgeable and very attentive. We tried the 10 course meal and we enjoyed almost everyone of them. There were a couple that were just good but not great to our taste. We thoroughly enjoyed the attention to detail in serves, plating and taste. This made our Anniversary so very special, we have been wanting to try Melisse for a while and glad we did it on a special occasion. We will definitely return again. We enjoyed the "rib eye" supplementthe price fix menu, a small plate morsel of the most delicious beef one could ever enjoy. The fish and dessert courses were wonderful, and we were impressed that we were offered fresh Dutch White Asparagras in a memorable preparation. April is season for white Asparagras in Europe, we have enjoyed it in Berlin, and were transported by Melisse both understanding and offering this delicacy and the wonderful presentation. We brought a bottle of very fine wine with us and noted after arriving it was actually also on their menu. Menu items are inventive, thoughtful and precisely executed. The service is equally uncomparable. Lauren, our "culinary liasion", conveyed great attention to detail and service and was hands down the best.
The ONLY reason I gave this an overall 4 stars because it is an unique dining experience and too formal for my taste. Dinner took over 3 and half hours largely because of the multiple courses. It is an unique experience and too esoteric of an dining night out to repeat over and over again. HThe food was excellent and the service was great throughout the dinner. Tables are nicely spaced so you never feel crowded. Well worth the price and highly recommended. Courses were not rushed either & we were given plenty of time to savour our experience which is perfect. Ambiance is very good, nothing over the top decor wise.
