Megu New Yorka delicious treatfood was terrific, but 4 oysters for $15? service was very good, loved the ambiance. great place for a special occasion. tried some new flavors and combinations that i wouldn't otherwise get to try.5/15/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat Food served with styleEating is more than the food. The food at Megu is divine. The presentation of the appetizers, entrees, desserts, and drinks enhanced the experience. If I was blindfolded, I would still love the food. Our appetizer salmon tartare was expertly mixed and served at our table. I love the flambe on the Kobe beef. And the dessert sample dish has an amazing assortment of desserts that we could sample to our hearts delight. Megu is my goto place to celebrate all my special occassions.5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat but...Great restaurant, but the prices are a bit expensive.4/30/2013 12:00:00 AM'COMFORT' TAKES ON NEW ELEGANCEIn a town that has many outstanding restaurants, Megu clearly ranks towards the top of any listing. Have only been to its Tribeca location (Thomas Street), which totally exceeded my expectations. With that said, it is expensive even for NYC standards. However, this diner certainly received more than what he paid for. Outstanding selections, amazing versions of known foods, eye-catching presentations & ambiance; and, absolutely flawless- & attentive- service. In a nutshell, just bring your 'desire,' Megu will certainly 'SATISFY'!!!!4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMThey have excellent customerThey have excellent customer service and food is great! Would recommend Wagyu Satsuma, slow cooked Kobe beef, and toasted garlic miso bread. The Kobe Beef Sukiyaki was ok - nothing special.4/18/2013 12:00:00 AMThe food is delicious, ambianceThe food is delicious, ambiance is very nice. Our reservation was 7:00 PM on Sunday, the restaurant was so quiet, we got the best table in house! People started coming after 7:30 PM. But overall, if you are looking for a nice and quiet place to enjoy good food but not stuff yourself, it's a good choice.4/14/2013 12:00:00 AMI've been to both Megu locationsI've been to both Megu locations and prefer the original downtown one on Thomas Street the best. An outstanding dining experience.4/6/2013 12:00:00 AMMEGU dining is a good experience...I chose Megu Restaurant after I saw its well-designed web page. I was celebrating my 9th year anniversary with my girlfriend and also, celebrating my sister's and brother-in-law "promise...soon-to-be engagement".
We like that it was not far from the train station. When we actually arrived, the decor inside was elegant and chic. The seating arrangement is near the ICE BUDDHA, which is totally what we all wanted. Also, the seats were comfortable. The sushi was delicious! My sister ABSOLUTELY LOVED the eel.
We would definitely recommend for special occasions.4/5/2013 12:00:00 AMLove this place. ExcellentLove this place. Excellent food and great atmosphere.3/16/2013 12:00:00 AMOutstanding food, serviceOutstanding food, service and atmosphere. Stands against some of the best in NYC. We arrived around 10:30 p.m. after seeing a play. The room is beautiful and vibrant. Ask for a booth, and it's still can be intimate.2/7/2013 12:00:00 AM
