Megu MidtownGreat Food, great service! My friend and I had a wonderful night at Megu last Monday. We each did a tasting menu and the food was excellent. The courses were well paced and beautifully presented. Our waiter, I can't recall his name exactly, Tarih (something like that) was so nice, attentive (but not overbearing--just right) and he made excellent suggestions for wine & food. We met the manager and the head sushi chef and they were so nice too. Everyone seemed to really care that we had a great time. I would absolutely go back!5/21/2013 12:00:00 AMA paragon for Asian foodOne of my favorite restaurants. Excellent food, quality service and a nice atmosphere where - and this a rare find in Manhattan - you can actually have a conversation at a normal voice level. You need a little time however, because it is the opposite of fast food. But then again, everything is freshly prepared.5/20/2013 12:00:00 AMModerrn and elegantAtmosphere and food presentation are Wow. Great drinks list too. Perfect for expense account meals.5/18/2013 12:00:00 AMBeautiful food presentationAnniversary dinner on a quiet Sunday evening, lovely setting, exquisite food and presentation. Service was perfect, not too overbearing but was there when you needed anything. Staff was friendly too and knowledgeable about the large Sake menu. We would definitely return. After reading some reviews beforehand, I was a little afraid we'd be waiting for a table, or a long time to be served but was pleasantly surprised. Maybe it's different on Fridays or Saturdays but this dinner was perfect!5/5/2013 12:00:00 AMGreat experience!Wonderful service, and the environment was very quiet and comfortable. The quality of the sushi was excellent!5/3/2013 12:00:00 AMArtful and DeliciousOnce you get over the sticker shock and realize Megu is not your neighborhood sushi joint, you'll enjoy yourself. The ambiance is tranquil, the service courteous and the food is superb. Prices can be astronomical ($180 for a nine-ounce Kobe steak), but expect about $100-120 per person (without drinks) if you're not too excessive. I recommend the endamame soup and the crispy asparagus, along with various tartars as appetizers. The sushi is incredibly fresh and melts in your mouth in a complexity of tastes. The desserts are fun (share the sampler). The presentation is a work of art.4/21/2013 12:00:00 AMVery good but very expensive,Very good but very expensive, unless you go for their prix fixe dinner. Cooked food is top notch, sushi is very good, above average, but regular. Very good service and upscale ambience. A very pleasant evening!4/20/2013 12:00:00 AMThe decor is gorg!
