  • "The appetizers of crab cakes and calamari were quite good. The (I think) hummus paste for the bread was too little for 4 of us. I had to ask for more. I ordered a (supposedly) tender lamb kabob. Only about half or less of the lamb pieces were decently tender. The rest was tough as leather. I am sure the cook should know this (what part of the lamb is tender and what part is tough). I don't know why a restaurant like this would take chances on serving something like this. A major disappointment for me. Fortunately, it seemed like my wife, daughter and her friend seem to enjoy their meals (seafood pasta, beef tenderloin and vegetable pasta respectively). The saving grace was our server - very polite and accommodating!"

  • "So I took my wife to eat out at Mediterrano for Valentines. While my expectations weren't high, I was pleasantly surprised with what I got. The area isn't hard to find if you've lived in the area. The parking area is very large and can accommodate many people. The first thing that i noticed was the outdoor dining area, while not a most scenic area in Ann Arbor (across from Briarwood Mall near World Market). The option of outdoor dining is a plus/paired with the food... but we'll get to that later. The decor is nice and just dark enough to be romantic but not too dark. The food was absolutely amazing!!! From the Lamb to the Sea Bass to the Creme Brulee, they were all delicious and flavorful... Perfect for a spring or summer day."

  • "We were stuck in Detroit after a big snow storm in the East cancelled our flight. We picked Meditererrano based on what I could glean from Tripadvisor and similar sites. We were looking to treat ourselves. I was mildly disappointed to find it located in a strip mall setting, however---It was just wonderful. The restaurant was lovely and the staff very accommodating, but best was the food. The presentation was lovely and the flavors great. The thing that struck me was that if this had been more of a "foodie restaurant" they would have served half as much food and charged twice as much money!! Nice evening. Good wine. Glad we found it."

  • "Valentine's Day meal - not up to expected standard. the Sea Bass was too salty and the potatoes flavorful but cold when served. the server did not, surprisingly, check back with us after setting of the entrees. She seemed a bit rattled, maybe the crush of the anticipated Valentine's Day crowd? If so, shame on the manager for not doing a better job. We love this place and will give it another chance to redeem itself. Oh yes, the baked fetta appetizer was excellent."

I came for lunch at about 11:45 a.m. It would was nice and quiet. I could hear my conversation; I was not disturbed by other diners. I would have given you 3.25 stars if I could have. Not quite 4 stars."

  • "Everything was really good - it would of been a nice gesture on the part of the server if she would of said "we have a special going right now, if you buy a gift certificate for $100, we give you an extra $20"....we did not see the sign until we were on our way out of the restaurant. It is "little things" like that that make you have a warm fuzzy feeling about a restaurant and want to come back. Did she have to do it, "no", but it would of been a really nice thing to do (our bill was $100 with tip, which means, we would of been back to spend the extra $20 on another dinner night out... scallops on a bed of potatoes with green beans were EXCELLENT....."

  • "Food was delicious, but we waited more than 20 minutes for our cocktails, which were served after our salads and only after we stopped a passing bus boy and asked him to check with our waitress about our drink order. The restaurant was nearly empty and we could see the bar from our table. The bartender was just standing behind the bar, and when the bus boy talked to him about our order, he didn't seem to know about it. Shortly after, our waitress brought the drinks, stating that she had no control over the bartender and how quickly he made drinks. We don't think she placed our order, but otherwise the service was good."

  • "I have lived in Ann Arbor for decades and while it boasts the number of restaurants, I find downtown parking is truly the hindrance and overpricing. Meditterano has an outstanding menu selection and the service has always been great. Our waitress was the most hospitable but first and foremost, the food was excellent. The pricing is very comparable if not less than the downtown scene. Warm, inviting, very nice lighting, easy access, and plenty of parking. I am dedicated to any italian restaurant that has squash or eggplant dishes on the menu ALL-YEAR-ROUND. One popular italian restaurant downtown does not even have eggplant of any sort on their menu. We all have our tastes, but for the atmosphere and food, this is a great place."

  • "We had not been to Mediterrano in a few years, although we once had been frequent diners there. We stopped going a few years ago after several less than stellar meals. We had heard that the restaurant had returned to its former standards and were delighted to find that was true. The menu had a good range of options--fish, chicken, meat, vegetarian--to satisfy any preference. All 4 of our dinners were outstanding. We have always liked the restaurant's decor, set-up, and comfort. Our server was knowledgeable, courteous, and prompt. We had a delightful evening, lingered over dessert and coffee, and declared that Mediterrano has returned to the list of restaurants that first come to mind when we are considering dinner with friends."

  • "Appetizers, salads, and main courses were all top notch. The dessert was an unmitigated disaster. Inedible. Which the waiter had recommended. The manager/owner was warm and hospitable when we arrived. Really nice guy. The waiter was a disappointment. She was okay for the first 20 minutes, then started to forget to bring forks, forgot how to set up a setting of cutlery, then a attitude problem started after the main course arrived. She just wasn't all that interested in being a good waiter. The staff that brought the food out from the kitchen was top notch. But the waiter really acted like she wanted to be someplace other than the restaurant the night we were there. She was a fluke. The food except for dessert was outstanding."

  • "Made a 7p reservation on a U-M game day. Called in the afternoon to push it to 7:30p. At 7:30p I called to day I wouldn't be there until 8p. Finally, at 8:15p I show up and they still seat me. Besides the excellent food, I love their wine selection and the fact that you get a taste before you have to commit to your wine. Very generous portions of wine I might add. Ceviche is fantastic but not available during the winter months. Anita is the best server...very friendly, knowledgeable and honest."
