Greeted and seated quickly. Restaurant is loud, so had to shout a bit to hear each other. Food was excellent. Service...we felt a bit ignored. There were some large parties getting a lot of attention, and it was nearly 45 minutes before they took our order. We had finished appetizers before getting order in. Nice evening so not that big of a deal, but a little more attention would've been appreciated. Overall recommended for friendly people and a nice, but noisy, atmosphere.

Outstanding, attentive service and tasty food. The Harvest Salad was delicious. Excellent ambiance inside and out. Inside dining is rustic with a room with a fireplace. Outside are 2 options; partially enclosed patio with a fireplace on one side of the restaurant. On the other, is an outdoor patio overlooking the beautiful grounds and fountains of the golf course.

This location and the surrounding grounds are lovely! Suggest you enjoy a walk after your meal and check the place out. Valet parking only. (Cost = $5). The restaurant and bar decor made for a very pleasant dinning environment. This place obviously focuses on customer service. However, there was a staff meeting going on when we were seated; so it took a very long time for the waiter to first arrive. I seriously question management's decision to call a lengthy meeting during service hours but perhaps it was an emergency ... ? Anyway, the free appetizer of warm bread and olive tapenade kept us from getting too annoyed while we waited on our waiter to arrive. Once their staff meeting ended, the service was outstanding! They are obviously proud and knowledgeable about the menu and drinks. Order to table times were very quick. Water glasses and bread baskets were kept full. Plates cleared promptly. And most importantly, the food was delicious! The prices were higher than what we were expecting; Open Table showed $$ but we think it was more of a $$$ experience. Was it worth it? Yes! But expect to spend $50 or more per person if you are going there to eat. But we do recommend you go there and enjoy!!!

My friend and I just needed a place for dinner in an area we hadn't visited. I pulled up Trip Advisor and found Meditteraneo. The prices were a little steep and the food is served a la carte, so that's why I didn't give it 5 stars, but the food and the service was excellent. This is located in between two other restaurants - the Stonehaus and Bogies. It is adjacent to a golf course and next to the Westlake Inn, so would be very convenient for business and hotel guests.

  • Great Food, Poor Service

    Dined on 11/12/2014
At the suggestion of a few friends, this was our first visit to Mediterraneo. The food was great, but the service was horrible. The restaurant was not overly crowded and yet we still never saw our server - it took forever to order, to get my drink, and once the meal was served, we never saw him again, until it was time for the check. The server never refilled a water glass and did not ask if I would like another drink. Given the food, I would still recommend the restaurant, assuming the service is not usually that bad.

Mediterraneo is a totally delightful experience. The restaurant is nestled on lush gorgeous grounds which makes the experience so very appealing. The moment you enter the restaurant you are warmly greeted by the staff. The service is very professional and our waiter, Tobias, was incredible. His knowledge of food and wine were outstanding and his suggestions were spot on. A real treat. The manager, Bill, also came to check on us and could not have been more gracious. Again, very impressive. We ordered different items which we all found to be delicious and perfectly prepared. To start our waiter brought a homemade olive tapenade to the table accompanied with hot crunchy sourdough bread which were so so yummy. I ordered the Ling Cod, and cannot remember when I have had a better seafood dish. As it was a birthday celebration, we ordered the butterscotch pudding which we all shared. It was outstanding and not a morsel was left in the dish. We were so happy with our experience, and since I am a cook, I am very difficult to please, but I cannot wait to return. Our hats are off to a great chef...bravo!

Beautiful restaurant...we sat on the patio and it's beautiful with a fireplace ..and it was pretty quiet. The restaurant inside is also beautiful and extremely noisy. Our waiter was very nice however it took us 1 hour to get our main course...very small portion and very expensive... You really need to order salad and appetizer(which we didnt)... Otherwise you leave hungry like we did. Will not be back!

Mediterraneo at the Westlake Village Inn has become our go to place for good food, prepared with skill, great service and beautiful setting and ambiance. Never a let down. The menu changes slightly with seasonal produce. When the hotel and all it's venues are crowded, parking can be challenging, but other than that tiny inconvenience, Mediterraneo is a great find. If you want to indulge, their truffle Mac and cheese and the butterscotch pudding are comfort foods done perfectly. You are never rushed. Settle in and enjoy.

Upon arrival parking was a mess due to Octoberfest celebration at next door restaurant. We arrived 15 minutes early and still needed to wait 1/2 hr to be seated although there were plenty of open tables available. Once seated, it took about 10 minutes for the waiter to acknowledge and another 15 minutes to bring water and drinks. We had to remind him we would like to have bread a couple times and finally received it with our appetizers. Opened with Tuna Tartare and Braised Pork. Main courses were Oso Buco, King Salmon, Filet Mignon and the Bavarian Farmers Special of Pork Tenderloin and Bratwurst. For dessert ordered the Apple Crumble Pie and Florentine Art, OK but nothing special. Concerned with the slow start service gets C+, food a B.

We were a party of 4 who had a very nice, leisurely dinner at Mediterraneo. While we had reservations and there were plenty of open tables, the hostess made us wait far too long. It's as if she didn't care. However, once we were seated our waiter was very good. The overall service was slow, but the food was delicious. The patio was a wonderful place to dine. Wow! What can I say?! This is probably my fourth time at Mediterraneo. The hostesses are super cute and are a nice visual appetizer before the main course. You simply must try the grilled artichoke hearts, they are to die for. I wish I could jump in the steaming hot iron skillet and slather myself in the grilled lemon and gorgeous sauce. And then there is the brick chicken-OH S$%T they are good. The dessert, well that was so-so, however, the dinner was lovely, the patio is gorgeous, and the waiter was cool dude. Highly recommended.

When we arrived we were seated immediately wit an option of either indoors or out.. We chose indoors due to the high temps outdoorsbut had a beautiful view of the outdoor are. The waiter came right away for drink and appetizer orders. My only issue was that we had to ask if there were any specials that night. One of the best appetizers was the grilled shrimp. Very large shrimp in a wonderful garlic sauce. The seafood salad was loaded with a variety of seafood. The barramundi was very tender and flavorful. Always a great experience!

I've been to this restaurant several times over the last 2 years and have always loved it, but this weekend I ate 2 less than stellar meals here. First I had dinner at the restaurant and the food was good as it always is. The next day I went for breakfast (since I was staying at the hotel) and had a horrible experience. We waited almost 20 minutes for a table in an EMPTY restaurant. The staff seemed completely overwhelmed even though there were only a handful of tables with customers. It took a very long time to get our food and our mimosas. We ordered another round of drinks when our food showed up and we were finished eating way before they showed up. This restaurant has 4 Star potential and food, but the service is 1 star at best.

We are regulars, being there last month for July 4th dinner. The service this time was on the slow to poor side. We were seated on the patio and sat for several minutes, I had to ask the manager who was walking by if we could please be served. The waiter was very nice but he really didn't seem to either have the time or want to spend much of it with us. When the salads came I didn't have a knife. I asked the buss boy for one, he never brought it and I had to borrow someone else's. I also asked the bus boy for some more coke, but it never came. I had the Rib Eye steak in July, and it was good. The steak this time was a much nicer cut, but it was spiced with some spices it could have done without. It was cumin or chili powder, yuk!

We were pretty aggravated by the general inattention last time we dined here, we shouldn't have come back again. After providing us with water, the waiter disappeared forever. After he took the wine order, he was gone again, finally surfacing with the excuse that they didn't have my choice of white anymore. The red was extremely warm, do they store it next to the stove? After the starters were served, there was another unconscionable wait. In general, the food was very good although the vegetable accompaniment to my pork chop was too salty, and I like salty. The restaurant has a bad combination of high ambient noise and over large tables. If you are in a group of six, you will only be close enough to hear half of the table.
